Since that time, caregiver schedules have been set timely, with good communication so that all involved are informed of the schedules, or changes in schedules. Again, the caregivers themselves have been wonderful, and now that we're on the same page with scheduling I think things will work out well with HomeLife Senior Care.

Since it was such a last minute need, I totally understood the staffing issues and was okay with it. I know I'm lucky in the sense that I was able to fill in as needed. We didn't need them for long sadly but over the next 4 days they made sure she was okay and took care of her as needed. Much like the Hospice nurses, each care nurse was perfect for the scenarios of their shift. We would totally recommend them.

Dolly found my hourly rate too high and decided not to continue with the interview. 1 week later, I received a call from her asking if I could start if she gave me a few more dollars per hour, I agreed to help her out - but wages in all of her administrative jobs there are very low and with inflation being so high right now you would think she would entertain a COLA ( cost of living) increase for her 2-3 year employees, but she does not. I told her that my years of experience in my field and the autonomy that is usually involved in my job are what make me a salaried person. She does not understand that for most salaried positions people get paid by the work they do NOT the time they arrive to the office. Dolly also didn't offer any training of the desk at all and said to me "I don't want to have to hand hold the person in this job, I'm too busy!" Honestly, there are times when an employer needs to sit with the new person to show them how they expect jobs to be completed. I should never have offered to take this job and I'm glad I left. Dolly puts high priority on the nurses who bring in the money to her business and really does not seem to care about rewarding / offering even a performance review of those who are administrative and have been with her longer. I asked the staff about performance evals and they said, "what are they"? There are 2 people in that office who are very loyal and they haven't received an increase. On top of that, she does not offer coffee or snacks for the hard working employees ....the only offering done by Dolly Thomas is some water that is pumped in from water bottles she gets in front of the super markets. There aren't any cups or plastic forks/spoons. Do I suggest you take a job here? No - because you will never be given the proper training because she doesn't have time and there is no room for increases. Basically there are better jobs out there that are local - the staff that are working for her now are losing out on good health plan benefits, snacks and drinks and additional holidays and PTO time off given by employers who care and feel the internal administrative staff should be rewarded too. r
