My body had been super achey, and I hadn't been adjusted in a very long time. I had gotten a massage the day before, so my body was ready to be tweaked and repaired. So meet Dana Riederer, the chiropractor heading up PC's GC office. He is super knowledgeable on the mechanics of the body, professional, friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. I went through a full assessment with him, and he was able to identify a few problem areas in about 10 minutes by watching me balance on each foot, walk across the room, stretch and look at my feet. Following the assessment, he went through a few exercises to help me strengthen weak areas and stretch out my spine. I actually did a few of them over the weekend and my body is feeling a lot better. He also adjusted my spine, and give me a nice craaack, which is always exhilarating. I wish I had some more time with Dana, because there are all sorts of cool and fancy exercise and stretching toys there to experiment with! Lastly, make sure you check out their AMAZING massage chair. It scans your body first to detect sore areas, and then puts you in a trance as it kneads and rolls over tight muscles. They also look at your eating habits and help you to make better choices about what you put in your body. They understand that everyone approaches food in a different way (ie the 'emotional eater' vs the 'I don't really care what I eat' eater) and they work with you to figure out how to make changes to your eating habits that you'll be able to keep for longer than a few weeks. I never felt ashamed or embarrassed to say 'Well, I had a burger and fries with my friends last night'. They understand that most people can't change everything about the way they eat overnight, and they're totally willing to work with you to come up with a plan that you'll be able to follow. I love that GH is different from a typical gym. Their studio is bright and open and as a woman, I really appreciate that there are not a bunch of giant sweaty guys in the corner, lifting weights and grunting & yelling. I can tell that every trainer is passionate about what they do and take great pride in their work. They are not making up workouts as they go like most trainers.
