The hubby and I love Asian food...Thai is our favorite but good Chinese food is close behind it. We were delighted to learn that there was a Chinese restaurant just up the road from our new house. There are tables inside but we chose to do carry out. I called ahead. It was a 20 minute wait time. The food was ready when I got there. The price was what we normally pay - approximately $32.00. We started with Crab Rangoons and the House Soup (came with fried wonton strips). The hubby and I both ordered Combo Plates. He had General Tao's chicken with white rice and an egg roll. I had Moo Goo Gai Pan, pork fried rice, and an egg roll. The portions were good. We both had leftovers of our main dishes and the rice. The food was regular run of the mill Chinese food. If we get a hankering for Chinese food and don't want to drive far we will give it a second go. read more

My first time at this Asian takeout. Had their special combination plate of pork fried rice and boneless spare ribs, with an egg roll. I usually opt out for white rice instead. The fried rice I've so far had at the local Asian eateries hereabouts were tasteless, oily and faint yellow most times. Not at Lin Garden's. Theirs were flavorful, the rice was just nice without being too soggy or hard. Good compact egg roll too. The sweet sauce that drenched the boneless spare ribs was a tad too thickly sweet for my taste but hey that's just my south east asian taste bud's preference. Friendly owner (guy) too! It's a family run business. Bear in mind, this place is more of a takeout foodplace. The interior is simplistic, does its job. If you're looking for a dine-in experience then this isn't for you. But if you're looking to impress guests with Americanized Chinese cuisine at home, Lin Garden has your back. read more

Let me just say ive been eating here for years! I think in this entire time ive had 2 not so great experiences, but besides that perfect food. I would suggest if you get something you dont like, it may just not be made for your taste. The staff is quick to take orders and will generally have it ready in 15 minutes. This is one of better Chinese restaurants in the Clemson/ Seneca/ Pendleton area. It's very easy to drive by and miss. It is kind of a hole in the wall. You order and pay at the window. The employees will bring your food out too you. I've never eaten food here, I always get to go. The inside is not very inviting and limited seating. They also bring food out on styrofoam anyway so I'd rather just take it home. Typical Chinese restaurant menu. Never had an order wrong, but have had some food that was dry or could've been crispier. First time here. Had Sesame chicken, chicken and broccoli, and spicy beef. Each came with an egg roll and we ordered the meat wontons. The wontons were crispy and filled with meat. The egg rolls were crispy and flavorful. The entrées were tasty as well, though the spicy beef wasn't so spicy, the hot sauce fixed that. There are limited drink options if you eat in - basically bottles of coke products. The dining room is spartan but very clean. It is really a takeout place, and the folks working here are very friendly. One of the cooks (maybe 20) came out to chat and spent some time talking to an elderly couple who seem to be regulars. Let me get right to the point. The best I can say about this place is that it wasn't horrible. Close, but not horrible. It started at the walkup window where you order your food. I stepped up and there was a menu laying there to order from. I took a minute to look it over then made my selection. The girl at the register took my order and I paid and went to sit down and wait. I got the Cantonese Boneless Chicken. I would give it a 4 out of 10, and that is generous. I later learned that the girl had sold me the dinner portion of that dish when I could have had the lunch special and saved about $4. I was going by the only menu I saw. I guess I should have asked but she definitely should have told me about the special because it wasn't posted anywhere. The food is served on styrofoam - more and more common nowadays, but a huge turnoff for me. The unsweet tea was decent. There. I said something good about it. During the Covid-19, I finally have time to try all the local Chinese Restaurants in Clemson. I am in hopes of finding one that - although may use frozen products such as egg rolls, etc - they are high enough quality. Unfortunately, this is not the case here. My order: Shrimp Egg Roll (Less thick of a dough than China Express, one piece of shrimp, lots of noodles), Vegetable Spring Roll (much thinner wonton wrapper, nice and crips, but lots of cabagge), BBQ Ribs (didn't know these were going to be boneless - I want a bone), Shrimp Toast (burns and drowning in grease), Won Ton Soup (looked so promising with wontons that were not so doughy is China Express, but there was no taste to the soup). At least I could doctor up the soup at home. Not good enough for the 3.5 mile drive from home. Too bad - I am picky. However, they were busy at lunchtime and I am sure you get a lot of food for your money. read more

So amazing how the customer service changed in here, the woman who took my order was very abrupt n rude, and inferred I must be getting my order to go... As if I wasn't welcome in there.. Ten minutes later a couple of men come in and there's a man taking their order. The man immediately greets them and even makes small talk.... Maybe it's just me LMAO. Or maybe it's just her... Very unimpressed. Aesthetically the restaurant was dingy. Not the worst for take out, but I like my restaurants cleaner appearing (the 'A' for hygiene was in the window). The food was not very good, though. Beef and broccoli was ok, though tougher than I'm used to. Dragon and Phoenix was too salty (as was beef & broccoli), and had a faint chemical or soapy taste, both initially and while chewing. (That flavor disappeared while I saved it for leftovers. Yes, it wasn't so bad we discarded the leftovers.) I STRONGLY recommend China Express on 93 in nearby Central, over Lin Garden. read more

My worst Chinese food experience. I order beef and broccoli, hot and sour soup, chicken lo mein, and Chinese donuts. Donuts had salt instead of sugar someone must been drinking on the job. Me and my friends LOVE Lin Garden. So inexpensive and good, especially at lunch. They are great with substitutions and so friendly. My favorite is the honey sauce (Honey Chicken listed on the menu but they will do shrimp for you). So good - you can get anything extra spicy too! It's especially cool to have a place that has combos with stir fry rice AND lo mein noodles. Can't beat all those carbs. read more

Been going to this place for years. I know they hand make the egg rolls which are good. However, over the last year they are on the cheap and getting worse. If you get a meat dish, good luck finding the meat in the vegetables. Not only is there less meat, it's cut thin like paper.
