Then, out of the blue, he told me I needed lots of work done, that it wasn't covered by my insurance, and that it had to get done immediately. That's when I started my search for another dentist - someone ethical, knowledgeable, and honest. I found Dr. Bongiorno. From the moment I stepped in the office, I felt comfortable. The administrative staff are all friendly and accommodating. They even told me where to get change for the meter! Ms. Bee was super sweet while doing my cleaning, and Dr. Bongiorno took the time to educate me on dental health and overall wellness. He thoroughly explained what was going on with my teeth and laid out all of my options. During the whole process, I never felt pressure or like I was being talked down to. Plus, during each procedure I have the option of choosing the background music. I ended up getting all of my work done for about 4% of what the other dentist wanted to charge me. I've been a patient for about a month now and have referred several friends and family - even though we all live in Brooklyn! Everyone who's made an appointment with GoodDay Dental has raved about how personable and smart the staff are. Who would've thought? He explained that he would have to remove the filling in order to investigate the issue and when I said I didn't want to, he backed off. I scheduled another appointment to get a new filling on the cavity and decided that I also wanted him to check out the sensitivity we had spoken about in the first visit. He told me he would conduct a procedure that would not be too costly as he was not sure exactly what the problem was and he did not want it to become to expensive for me (my insurance does not cover a lot of procedures). I am glad I asked him to check the sensitivity because it turned out to be a cavity under my filling so that day I received two fillings. The procedure was fast and he was very understanding and helpful. He was also very good at his job. He made me feel comfortable about getting the local anesthesia shot and asked me if i was ok when he saw I was uncomfortable during the procedure. I never once felt like he was trying to get more money out of me. I was not sold on some other procedures as I have been at other dentist office. The staff are all very nice and welcoming. I would totally refer this office and will definitely keep coming back. The only downside is that yes, there is a wait to see the dentist. They only have one doctor and one dental assistant. Dr. Shalomov is very busy and is going from one room to the next so be prepared to wait. However, once he is with you it all goes pretty fast and he does good work.

I specifically scheduled this appointment because I noticed a small area of buildup and wanted it properly removed. After my visit with the new dentist, I went home and found that the buildup was still there -- meaning the exact reason I came in was not addressed. What is most upsetting is that I was told my teeth looked nice, yet the dentist failed to fully address the concern I brought up. Now I am being told I need a deep cleaning, just as they have claimed in the past, while my insurance has questioned and denied it because the documentation does not support that need. I know my dental history, and I know the difference between needing routine care and being pushed toward treatment that does not match my actual condition. I even referred my coworkers to this office because I believed in the care I had received in the past. When one coworker mentioned that she also did not feel she received a proper cleaning, I chose to give this office the benefit of the doubt because I had never personally experienced an issue before. Unfortunately, after today's appointment, I can no longer say the same. I contacted the office immediately to explain my concerns. Not only was my issue not resolved, but I did not receive a call back, an apology, or even an offer to bring me back in and correct the problem. That is unacceptable and not the level of service expected from a professional healthcare office. I am requesting that this matter be properly addressed and that I receive the service I paid for. I will be contacting my insurance company to dispute this charge and report my concerns regarding the care provided. The waiting area and exam room appear very clean and organized. There was ample seating. Though the office was busy (9:30 a.m.) average wait times seem minimal 5 to 10 mins. My wait was longer since the office was busy, and they were creating my file. A tip: Complete your paperwork online and scrutinize it for completion. Both dentists I saw were really nice. Great bedside manner, very professional, and put me at ease. The PAs were equally sweet, charming, efficient, and professional. The front desk staff were welcoming. I didn't catch her name, but she gave me a "Welcome to Dynamic Dental" greeting so full of gusto that it made me smile. I tried to get appointments for my family members, but they don't accept their insurance. Obviously, I highly recommend this office.
