This botanical garden is a must see if you visit Lincoln Park Zoo. It is just a short walk from the zoo in fact! Housed in a historic building, this quaint garden boasts of a variety of plants. Admission is free with a reserved timed ticket.

Such a gem to walk through the conservatory. We arrived at opening on a Saturday and had a leisurly stroll through the several rooms of the greenhouses. The staff is excited to talk about the several different plants they have and learned a few new facts! I did get the timed entry tickets just shortly before opening.

I love Lincoln Park Conservatory, especially because it's free. It's so tranquil walking around and reading the different plant names. They require timed entry tickets, but it can get crowded on weekends still. It's pretty small so I typically only spend around 30 minutes here.

The Lincoln Conservatory was a great attraction, especially considering admission was free. It was a calm and inviting space filled with well- maintained plants and clear walkways. The interior is kept warm to support tropical species and small ponds and fountains added to the soothing atmosphere. Some plants were marked with "smell" signs, which offered a more interactive and sensory experience. While the conservatory wasn't very large, the variety and quality of the plants makes it worth a visit. It would be a good add-on to the day, particularly since it's so close to the zoo and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. I finished the entire conservatory in 45 minutes. The affiliated lot charged $28 for our short visit as we weren't able to find any free street parking. Overall, a lovely spot to stop by if you're already in the area.

Free! This was a fun visit! Reserve tickets online, seems like day of reservation (or right when you're about to go in) is okay. I loved the orchids and poinsettias.

There's always free street parking outside along the zoo/farm/conservatory area. However, it's always packed and it may take a little while before a car leaves and you get a parking spot. Keep in mind they are closed Monday and Tuesday and you can pre-book tickets online. It's free and it's really pretty inside and well maintained. You can pay a donation fee of your choosing which helps with maintaining the conservatory. It's always a hit with our our of towners and we always leave learning something new. They usually change themes and decorate the main area accordingly.

Visiting Chicago and dropped by for an early spring visit at the Chicago Conservatory. You really need to visit if you haven't before. One of the best things to do while in Lincoln Park.

I LOVE this place!!! There is so much to see here & it is all so beautiful & it's completely free!! They have cute mini art prints for $1 as a little souvenir. They are having a fireside winter flower show right now for the holidays and all the poinsettias are gorgeous!

What's not to love about a free attraction. Beautiful flowers and foliage inside and outside. Friendly and informative staff. It was a great little stop if you're in the area.

This is one of my absolute favorite Chicago stops that we just happened to check out last minute and I'm so glad we did. This conservatory was much bigger than I imagined and so beautiful I wish I could just perch up in a hammock and read a good book and just be for a few hours. This is the ultimate greenhouse and so beautiful. Not only are there more plants and flowers that I can remember the staff is so welcoming and friendly. I really appreciated the lady who educated my daughters and I about the different plants and their specific qualities and characteristics. We learned about a tree that hosts ants and without each other neither can survive. My favorite had to be the pitcher plant. I'd never seen anything like it and learning how it traps insects. I was also amazed to learn this place sits within the zoo so it is like a two for one. Lincoln Park itself is just a beautiful place with this beautiful gem.

On a very cold day came here to enjoy some beautiful flowers. There is not an entrance fee, but donations are welcome. They do recommend getting timed entry tickets before visiting. We booked the morning of our visit. During our visit the Spring Flower exhibit ... Spectrum of Spring was going on and it was beautiful. The spring flowers were an abundance of colors and scents. Definately worth visiting. It is well maintained and a green oasis in the middle of the city .

Gorgeous! Lovely location located in Lincoln Park. We made a reservation online, which was free with donations encouraged. It is a time slot format to decrease over crowding. The plants were beautiful and there was a plethora of different types many of which I had never seen before! It took my friends and I about an hour to walk through taking our time to smell the flowers. Afterword, we walked around the fountain out front and enjoyed the garden.

Is there an area with tables where you can sit? I would like to go there and relax a bit.

There are benches inside the conservatory. It is nice to sit there and enjoy the plants around you.

Is there any part of the conservatory that has air conditioning ? I am afraid of walking into a hot box because it's July.

Nope. It's a greenhouse. There are some spots that are better ventilated than others, but overall, I would expect to sweat.

The location was convenient for getting around the Loop and made it easy to walk to restaurants, attractions, and public transportation. I'd definitely stay here again the next time I'm in Chicago.

The rest of the staff however seemed to be annoyed anytime anything was asked of them, from the front desk to bartenders The woman at the front desk and she was rude and dismissive. I got there early so I knew the room wouldn't be ready but asked just in case. She said no rooms were available without checking. Ok, asked if I could leave my bags and she looked like she didn't want to deal with it. Came back again hours later and she still had the same attitude. During afternoon & evening hours you need to order food from the bartenders and they're also not very happy to take the time to do this. Both times different people were annoyed and even forgot to add something to my order. It got to the point where I purposely minimized any interactions with staff. I now see other reviews have similar experiences so not sure if it's this specific location or why the staff was so upset being at work.

For some people, that's all they need though so it's not a bad thing to have. There's lots of room for dogs to run around, and humans to chill and relax. Bare bones park is a description of it, almost. It actually does have some things in it. There's a few benches and paths. Green space is the main thing about it. Lots of it and quite a few trees. As far as playgrounds, there aren't any. The most interesting thing about it is a statue. It's called "Grainne." This was a gift by Galway, a city in Ireland. Chicago has lots of Irish heritage. This is a statue that certainly makes sense. Good park to hang out for a bit. It's nothing really that interesting but it's good to get out. There's a few benches for sitting and a few paths for walking.

I'm…read morehonestly not sure I ever noticed it, though, before I stopped at Old St. Pat's this week. It's known as a "passive park", because it has no programming, playground, or any facilities besides some benches. The most notable feature of the park is a large sculpture at the southwest entrance called Grainne, which commemorates the Sister Cities relationship between Chicago and Galway, Ireland. The name is somewhat odd, and was developed by the park's advisory group. It's said to reflect the peoples of various heritage that have called the area home, as it was a gathering place for lots of new immigrants in Chicago. "Green" is in homage to the old-timey town greens that were the original parks. I wandered through simply because I was surprised it was here, but it wasn't much of a park. I liked the sculpture quite a lot. If one lived nearby this would be an ok place to stop if you wanted a minimal amount of green space, but otherwise there are better parks in the city.
