We bought Lincoln windows for our new home and had almost ALL of our 63 windows leak and fog over in less than 10 years. In only 2 years we had 13 windows leak. They allowed me to purchase some new glass only and some new glass with frames which were not the same dimension as the original ones so they do not quite fit and the hardware needed to be installed in a slightly different location. If I could give zero stars I would. I built a new house 10 years ago and have been replacing windows every year since. Currently there are 7 failed seals with finger print streaks between the panes. I have already complained to the BBB a few years ago. I have seen many comments on yelp from people with the same issues. Let's file a class action lawsuit against this horrible company. Who's with me? Now they are saying I will have to hold an ice cube against each window to test for seal failure myself to judge whether it will fail within the next 5 years. This company has terrible customer service, and I just filed a complaint with the Bureau for Better Businesses for an issue that has been going on for months now. Here are the details of what happened. I recently had an addition built to my house. The work was completed by the end of May 2021, and included the installation of a French patio door provided by Lincoln Windows. When my contractor installed the door's hardware in late April / early May, they realized that the lock on the passive side of the door was defective, and reported it to Lincoln Windows. Two representatives came by one day and promised they would send a replacement part as well as a strike plate for the active side, which was rubbing against the bottom trim and damaged it. However, the replacement part wasn't delivered to the supplier until mid-June. A technician was scheduled to come on July 1, but canceled at the last minute, and said he would come the next day, but that did not happen either. A technician (a subcontractor for Lincoln Windows, not a Lincoln employee) finally came on July 9. However, he did not bring the strike plate and in the process of replacing the defective part he damaged the astragal that needed to be removed to gain access to the defective locking mechanism. The damage occurred because the tech pulled the part before removing all the screws, so the wood splintered around a screw that I hadn't been removed. He said he had called the supplier to have the part he damaged ordered, but didn't hear back from anyone until I contacted the company, threatening to file a complaint. At that point, I had an email exchange with a Warranty Service Manager, who promised she would quickly resolve the issue. The last time I heard from her was on August 6. Today is September 13 and, 4 1/2 month after the issue was first reported, and over 2 months after the technician who was supposed to resolve it damaged another part, I have not heard anything from Lincoln Windows. read more

I have replaced old windows in our house with Lincoln windows on 3 separate projects. All were aluminum extruded casement windows. We now have a total of 10 Lincoln windows in our home ranging from about 10 to 15 years old. We have been very satisfied in the durability so far. Our custom home was built in 2019 and the contractor insisted we use Lincoln windows rather than the architect spec Marvin or the Kolbe windows I had used in a home built for us in 2010. The Kolbe product was superb and the service was amazing, the color and finish choices included what we were looking for at no "custom coloring" charges. The builder insisted Lincoln was "just as good without the Joe Buck advertising cost". That was not the case....I wish everyday that I'd gone with Marvin or Kolbe. To start, Lincoln uses a different sizing system than typical in the industry. This "unique to Lincoln" coding meant some of the windows ordered wouldn't fit...more window than available wall. So, after paying an architect to "translate" all the window sizes to usable frame carpenter terms. So long the savings from "no advertising", thank you! What was laughable was that when I asked the window sales guy about the plan dimensions not comparing to the order numbers he drew up the sales guy's answer? Oh those specifications on your architectural drawings are all from some old architects guide book....NOT, the numbers were typical industry standard dimensions for windows. Turns out it's Lincoln that uses some odd, off beat system. Next came the color...reportedly, Lincoln had a wide range of standard colors. Again, not true when compared to other high end windows. Our desired color, standard in Kolbe colors, had to be specially formulated (extra charges) and after multiple tries to get it approved, a steep uncharge for every window. The doors have very ugly thresholds. Some big metal channel that looks like its out of a Butler building. Not to mention the need to adjust them frequently, at least if you want to open them without putting a shoulder block into it. If you are looking for a trip hazard, unfinished looking threshold and constant readjustment.....choose Lincoln. I can't even begin to tell you about service....that's because there is none. Sticking casement windows, hard to crank mechanisms are the standard. Call or e-mail and you'll soon learn that there is no reply. So yes, I know can attest to how Lincoln achieves lower cost for the same "high quality" of Marvin and Kolbe....no customer service, no window service. There's more, but it doesn't get better. Save yourself lots of headaches and probably dollars- stay clear of Lincoln. read more

I am the owner of a 7,000 square-foot+ home that was built in 2013 and occupied in late 2014. By 2016 the seals began to fail in the windows, by 2018 75% of the windows were clouded and molded due to failed seals, After negotiating with the builder, distributor and Lincoln windows, I did gain some satisfaction and received some replacement sashes. Although this was a victory, I am still left with exorbitant removal and replacement costs. Find another window company. read more

Purchased double pane windows and started to see finger prints (huge sliding prints most of the window) that got darker and darker. Also, there are specs in the middle that cannot be cleaned. They are replacing the window at no cost, but we need to pay for labor. Now, the side windows are experiencing the same problem. Called to see if we can get all windows replaced at the same time to save cost on labor, but no response. Awful customer service and product looks nice for awhile. I bought two sets of Lincoln gliding patio doors 9 years ago. The one set is okay - I haven't had problems. The other doors don't work. How don't doors work? They don't open and close! I have had so many issues with the door - the locking mechanism doesn't work and I got locked out on my second floor balcony (I had to cut the screen to get back in my house), the door frame is coming apart, and when I stand by the door, I can feel a breeze. I thought I had done my research prior to buying the doors, but every day, I regret purchasing these doors. They were expensive and not a good purchase. Every window that Lincoln Windows installed has been defective. Either gas has leaked and there is moisture inside the glass, the wood is warped and leaking a lot of air, and/or the seals have all come off. Do yourself a favor and avoid these windows at all costs. Every window installer I've spoken with has been well aware of the issues related to Lincoln Windows. read more

All my Lincoln windows need to be replaced. They are 15 years old. I purchased them to renovate my kitchen, and with most of my construction jobs, i expected the windows to last as long as my house.Silly me. It is like i installed a time bomb in my house. Now since i have to replace them, I have been struggling with trying to find someone to service them , i.e. just replace new glass. Impossible. In fact, 5 of the local alleged dealers won't even come out to look at them , they suggest i replace everything with Marvin , Anderson, or whatever brand they are selling that has a better track record. One rep told me i was lucky that they lasted this long. These are windows, not a car, not an appliance; there are not a whole lot of moving parts. Should I only expect 15 years out of my foundation? How about my toilet? Apparently Lincoln chooses not to invest in customer service. And they must just assume there are more suckers out there to choose from, than to keep any customers for life. Now the dilemma is do i continue to try and use Lincoln replacement sashes? or just find alternatives to Lincoln ? I bought what were considered to be 5 high end impact resistant windows. It was a mistake on my part as the windows are cheap. The hardware and window molding fall off and reattaching them is a waste of time. Water leaks through them because the molding will not remain attached. The windows are very drafty. Lincoln refuses to stand by it's product. It will be worth every penny to have these windows replaced with a quality brand. read more

Do not recommend using Lincoln windows. We used Lincoln windows in our 1994 new home construction. The windows leaked from day one. Had to do complete tear-outs down to sills due to moisture rotting. Lincoln supplied the windows, we had to pay labor. Not cheap. Sashes continue to break seals. Lincoln will no longer back their products due to time lapse. We are on our third set of replacement windows and Lincoln will not work with us with any credit. We will be going a different direction.Heed the warning, Lincoln is not a reliable company with respect to construction of their product. read more

Lincoln Windows and Doors has become a great product. Since becoming an employee owned company a few of years ago, they have redesigned most of their product and it surpasses the quality of most windows. Most reviews are from years ago. No wood clad window company offers labor after one or two years, even for defective glass. The glass is made by another company, not Lincoln, but they still provide a 20 year warranty on the glass. Glass failure was an issue with a lot of companies with the addition of Low E and Argon Gas as it was introduced and improved on. A lot of window companies use the same glass manufacturer. We service the Lincoln Product we sell and our charge is the same for all the window brands. The warranty years ago was only 10 years with 1 year on labor, the same for most companies back then. There is required maintenance on the part of the homeowner as well. Don't look at old reviews as the product has dramatically changed. Their exterior Kynar finish is top of the line. read more

In 2006 I began construction on my new house. I purchased 26 Lincoln "top of the line" aluminum clad wood casement and stationary windows from a local dealer. I paid for them in November of 2006 and they were installed in 2007. It took until mid 2009 for the house to be finished and for my family to move in. Now 10 years after purchase 50% of the windows are fogged between the glass when the weather turns cold. The fogging results in water condensation that drips down and leaves stains that are visible year round. The windows had a 10 year warranty which is how long it took for the seals to fail. (Well planned on the part of Lincoln.) In reality I only got 8 years out of the windows since the warranty activated upon purchase even though I did not move in for 2 more years. I am not happy with the $20,000 of Lincoln windows I purchased and I would not recommend them. read more

I wouldn't even rate them one star. My home is now 18 years old and for the past 5 years I've replaced 5 windows and just found another one that has some issues. My french doors have had issues for years and are rotting at the bottom. These are top of the line LIncoln windows. I can't imagine what the lesser quality windows are like from them. The customer service is horrible. I've never had windows that make as much noise as these do. They are constantly sounding like they just shattered. I'm assuming it is the change in the weather and the wood is expanding and contracting. Horrible windows. I built this house and my contractor chose them. I can't get anyone local to help me. Lincoln notes local dealers, but they all say they do not carry or service Lincoln windows. I've told Lincoln they need to pull their names down from their website. Buyer beware! read more

Lincoln Windows are poor quality. But that's not all that's poor about them. I had these windows installed in new construction. Unknown to me at the time of installation, the contractor was remodeling his rental house and he was using my money for the construction of mine to buy himself new things for his rental and putting his used junk in my home. Among his used junk was some 10 and 11 year old Lincoln windows. I contacted Lincoln and the then vice-president of the company. I gave her the serial numbers of the windows and asked her when they were made. She told me she had her general manager check their records and that they were 10 and 11 years old. I turned this information over to the lender's attorney. In the meantime the contractor found out I had contacted Lincoln. When the lender's attorney later contacted the vice-president of Lincoln she changed her story. She said it was all a mistake. It was no mistake. When those windows were replaced I videotaped the removal and they were cut when installed. So I would not trust this company under any circumstances. That is partly because the windows are poor quality and partly because the people who run the company apparently have no scruples. read more
