Cue my search for someone to install a backwater valve in my drainage line to make sure that doesn't happen again. Most contractors I called either seemed uninterested in trying to work around my (admittedly horrible) schedule or promised to come out and never arrived to give me an estimate. Then I found Modern Process Plumbing. Unlike most people I've dealt with regarding home repair or construction in the past, they gave me a very specific time they'd be out for the estimate and arrived exactly when they said they'd be here. They had the estimate ready for me a couple of days later. Their work proposal was as good as or better than any of the others I received and the price was lower. Better yet, they were willing to come out and do the work on Saturday so that I wouldn't have to take a day off of work (which would make the job far more expensive for me.) They arrived to start the work around 10:30 or so and were finished installing the valve, repairing the concrete, and cleaning everything up in the basement about five hours later. They took extra care to make as little mess as possible and were still apologetic about not thinking they'd cleaned up enough when they were done even though I can't see much of a mess at all down there. I will definitely be keeping these guys in mind for any plumbing work I have in the future.

This company showed up with a giant limb fell onto my house, assured me for 45 minutes that they could handle the job. Contract was signed for the two part job to be done all in one day. Then the equipment stopped working and the excuses started. I had to beg them for the photos they took of the roof to send into the insurance company and he very maturely stopped responding to my messages altogether. TWICE the owner Steve King no called no showed scheduled appointments with no phone call explanation. They left rust pile messes in my yard, oil stains on my sandstone pavers, and wanted to try to tell me that *31 days* from the time the contract was signed was an acceptable amount of time to get the job done. Don't be a fool like me and put your money and trust these guys. They completely took advantage of my emergency and vanished with my payment in full.
