Everything is all smiles and helpfulness until they have your money. I was supposed to have delivery the next day - store mgr. called to tell me it wasn't happening, and because I wasn't sitting around staring at my phone, and she didn't leave a voicemail (?), I didn't find out until late afternoon - after I stayed home all day. That was Friday - she said Monday for sure. Monday I waited all day - the driver called at 5pm - truck broke down - but I would be first on Tuesday. I called the driver at 6pm on Tuesday - he had no helper to deliver my fridge. I insisted he come NOW and I would call my neighbor to help. No wonder they're out of biz.

A little context: Originally Sears was out (yes, they still exist). Having repaired a few refrigerators, garage doors and operator control boards myself over the years, I knew things weren't right with these Sears guys (yes, plural -- well, one in training, poor sod). They weren't dishonest, really, just excessive. Especially with cost (...pretty obviously constrained by dinosaur policy -- what felt geared towards getting a fleeced customer to buy a new appliance from Sears). The Sears guys estimated a four-figure two-man project, including for two off-the-shelf generic machine screws, $37 each, parts only. (Still had to pay them for coming out.) Bless their little hearts. I can see how people get bamboozed by this blue-shirted Sears "professionalism". Hearing good things, I contacted Daniil. First let me address the question you're all thinking - yes, places like this do actually exist…read more And thank goodness they do, because I don't know the first thing about dry ice - how long it stays frozen, how to handle it (you're not supposed to touch this stuff, right?), how to use it for everything from an instant fog machine to a transportable freezer - and I certainly don't know any of the cross-country shipping or traveling rules. But you know who does? The guys who work here. I pulled up convinced that I was in the absolute wrong place, and I left with everything I wanted and more. The exact right amount of dry ice, in the exact right packaging, and a set of dry-ice-for-dummies-esque instructions that made me feel slightly more confident in my newfound liquid nitrogen dabbling.
