Coleman owns the practice and has a few other physicians working there with her. A friend went to one of the other physicians who was semi-competent and is now gone. I tagged along to my friend's first appointment thinking I might go there myself, but knew immediately to steer clear based on the 8 foot ad for hormone replacement therapy in the waiting room (see pic). Endorsed with a photo of Coleman, herself, it essentially promises to take twenty years off your body. All of its statements are outlandish. It's scary that a physician would push expensive drugs with very serious potential side effects to this degree. Hormone replacement therapy is something a lot of women struggle with, and the risks are very real, and include strokes and cancer. Sometimes HRT is absolutely the best way to go, but it should only be used if medically (or mentally) necessary. In the actual exam rooms, Coleman has more ads--videos for the latest name-brand (and expensive) drugs. At the end, they all say, "Ask your doctor if you might be right for X drug." Advertising drugs directly to patients in your office by video when you haven't even seen the patient yet is a horror I've never seen anywhere else. A physician should not be under the thumb of pharmaceutical companies. It only results in inaccurate--and expensive!--prescribing. If you want a doctor who prescribes based on symptoms and what drug will most effectively and inexpensively solve the problem, do not go to Coleman. read more

If you are looking for an educated, progressive doctor, Linda Coleman is the woman you want to see. I have always been apprehensive about going to the doctor. I always feel like I'm in a cattle line being herded to the next location, but not with Dr. Coleman. I made my appointment and went in to see her. Her office's appearance was clean and organized which is always a plus when dealing with the medical profession. I was seen within about 5 minutes of my arrival. I had my vitals checked then was immediately placed in a waiting room where I waited for Dr. Coleman for about 2 minutes. Talk about FAST Service. Her bedside manner is impeccable and she knows her stuff. Once I began discussing my issue she made me feel like she REALLY cared and was REALLY listening. She's very down to Earth and knowledgeable. I have lived in this area for 35+ years and am so sorry that I had not been to her before but I promise she will be my GP until she retires or I die. Whichever comes first. They over billed me and seem to be very disorganized I went in to see one of their doctors and after waiting an hour after my schheduled appointment, they finally called my name. I met with one of the doctors about my neck pain. Before even examining my neck, he prescribed me muscle relaxers and told me I would be fine. I insisted that he look at my neck, which he very quickly did without even touching it, he quickly head back to his seat and said 'yea you're fine." Fast forward a month, I get a $330 bill for an appointment that lasted 3 minutes not including the time the doctor seemingly walked off for no apparent reason. My insurance took care of half and I was left with the rest. I spoke to Thomas who I was originally told was the manager and he agreed that the wrong medical code was used and assured me that new bill at a lower price would be issued. The next week the exact same bill was reissued. I called Thomas again who seemed to be frustrated that the bill was not lowered and said that he would make sure the correction went through. Fast forward another month, I haven't heard from anybody or seen a new bill, so I call the billing office. The lady in the billing office Stephanie said that she has never spoke to Thomas before and that Liza is the one who is actually in charge and that I should speak to her. So... I called the office to speak to Liza and I was told she was busy and would call me back later. She never called. I called back the next day and Liza flat our refused to speak to me to help me resolve the issue. Overall, the office is disorganized and there seems to be trend of overbilling clients. I actually wanted to give a Zero star to Dr. Coleman! But the system doesn't let me do it! I am amazed such a doctor can still stay in service! When she inspected my prostate many years ago, it seemed her finger hit a red hot metal in there, and pulled back suddenly before it reached my prostate! This place has gone down since the two top nurse practitioners left the place a couple years ago: Nathan and Hope. I had no choice but to schedule a visit with nurse practitioner Kristen Deckert, she started me on a high dosage of a medication which made me go through hell for days. Then I ended up seeing another doctor and was told whoever had prescribed you this medication should have started you on a much lower dosage and slowly increase it after a couple of years. I gave her another chance and since no one else was available, I had to go see her again when I was sick. I tested negative for a flu YET she prescribed flu medication which made me even worst. Nathan and Hope would always prescribe me antibiotic and I would feel fine two days later but Kristen did not take a look at my chart and said she doesn't have time, can come in and pay another visit so they give me the antibiotic. read more

Today was my first time going to her office and she gave me information in one visit than I have ever received in any other doctor's office. It is very nice to have a competent health provider in my neighborhood. Had I written this review several years ago, my review would have been -1, just because the Front Desk staff was so inept, gum smacking and rude individuals. . Linda Coleman and her late husband John remodeled the office, and made some changes. The Front Desk receptionists Danny and Chris are personable, knowledgeable very helpful...Most of the time when I go the doctor I don't feel good, so having A+ Front desk staff. The medical Technicians are efficient. I have never seen Dr.Coleman, but from talking to people in the waiting room, she seems to be liked a lot. As a rule I see Hope Marshall, the Nurse Practitioner . She is competent, non-judgmental, and is quick to follow-up. There were two times that I needed to be seen, and she worked me in her busy schedule. I can speak for my husband who sees Nathan (Physician's Assistant) ..Nate is spot-on, competent and accessible. (I have seen Nate a couple times), I found him knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The practice has evening hours on Thursday. It is my feeling that when going to the Doctor's that you want to walk out knowing you'll be feeling better. Coleman and Associates fulfill the bill. read more

Cool that the good Dr. is on Yelp, this is one of the last places that I'd expect to see this. Now, I haven't been to her for a few years (I hope she doesn't read this) but I've always enjoyed her as my doctor. I went for about 10 years or so, during highschool and after, but even living in Falls Church, I'll still drive out to Sterling to be treated. Dr. or nurse will say they will send in a prescription (in office sick as can be and thought it would be quicker to have them send it) and pharmacy never gets it. Office won't respond to pharmacy. This has happened repeatdly. Call office and they "will send an email to dr. (or nurse partitioner)" but NO ONE every responds to those messages. Have resorted to only getting paper prescriptions (had to go out twice to pick up because of incompetent staff). My experience is the dr. does NOT return phone calls until you get kinda bitchy with office staff (hate to but only way to get results). My favorite story, was getting blood drawn for thyroid test. When technician hooked up THIRD vile, I asked how many vials she needed for thyroid test. She said, "Whoops, didn't read the order. I'll dispose of the extra blood." read more

I have been seeing Nathan, a nurse practitioner here, ever since I moved to NoVA in 2007. Everything has been really great. I never have a problem trying to get an appointment when I really need to see them. They have always prescribed what I feel is necessary for me to be a healthy, happy person. If it's after hours and I have OMG WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON questions, one of the staff gets back with me in less than 5 minutes. I was looking for a primary physician & found this office after I read Google reviews. My appointment was scheduled about 3 months ago since Dr. Linda did not have any openings. I got a text message a few days ago stating to fill out paper work, print and bring, if not appointment will be rescheduled, be on time ; otherwise have to reschedule appointment...etc...etc. I went to the office today after 3 months waiting for my appointment. I also I work at a hospital and took this day off for my appointment. when I arrived at the office, I found out the front desk people are so rude!! They do not greet or say hi to the patients and I was the one who greeted them. But that is not all, I was told that Dr. Linda is not here today we have to reschedule your appointment. The front desk girl also told me " I called you 3 times this morning to tell you Dr. Linda is not coming today but you did not respond." This is the MOST UNPROFESSIONAL service ever from a doctor and her team!!! Dr.Linda needs to know that her patients' time is as important as her time. You guys charge people for missing appointments but do you pay patients when you miss and reschedule their appointment?? I took a day off at work and don't get paid for my day, can you reimburse my loss?? I won't spend even a red penny or 5 minutes of my time in this office. I had a great experience with Dr Coleman. Firstly, the receptionist checked me in promptly. Because I filled my forms out prior to arrival the check in process was easy. Within 5 min the Assistant called me back. She promptly told me all the things she would be checking (I was there for a physical) and that the doctor would be there shortly. CONSENT CULTURE!!!!!!!! I love it! The physical included a ekg screening which I had never had before. A soon a the assistant left the doctor came in no waiting for half an hour.....Dr Coleman was personable, attentive, and thorough. I've been going to this group for almost 10 years and I feel that the quality of care has gone down substantially. I recently had a situation with some medication and I was informed that they could no longer treat me and that I should find a new doctor that could help. They did not show any care or concern that i needed to stop the medications slowly and that I had difficulty in finding a new physician in a timely manner and was unable to secure the medications before experiencing difficult side affects. I sent my 18 year old son to see Dr. Nathan for a college physical with the paperwork in hand. He did not even review to see that a TB Test was required and just signed the paperwork. My son went back and they told him about the TB test and he was informed that he now needed a new appt. An appt was scheduled for TB Test and other tests (doctor never ordered for a first time 18 year old patent) the test finally done. He returned in 48 hrs. for the results, and they handed him blood results and did not review his TB test. he went back a week later and they said it was too late and a new test needed to be done. He went yesterday, and they informed that he now needed an appt. For my son's college physical, no blood-work was ordered, no urinalysis, and a poorly filled out college medical form was returned. I sent my son back after scheduling an additional appointment and finally they ordered blood work and urinalysis. No one has ever contacted us about the blood tests or urinalysis, although, from the report, it looks like there are areas of concern. Staff is rude, difficult to work with, and follow-through is appalling, especially with test results. My suggestion is to keep looking for a new physician. read more

The doctors here may be okay. I only have experience with Nathan, which was positive. The problem with this office is their incompetent office staff and prescription refill line. On at least 3 occasions I left a voicemail requesting a refill, AND asked them to me if there were ANY problems, questions or concerns. Well, 3x the prescription went unfilled and no phone call. I would have to call them over and over for it. Whoever is responsible for that prescription line should be fired. Combine that with the staff smoking cigarettes out in front of the DOCTORS OFFICE, and well, I'd say 2 stars is generous. read more

I have been going to Dr Coleman since I was a young adolescent. I've always had very good service, and never had any problem making an appt on short notice, when I have been hurt or sick. The only thing I wish they would follow up on is calling after getting test results back from labs or other drs. This practice should NOT be open, their front desk is extremely unprofesional, after they put you on hold repeatedly. They don't know how to read your reports. The lab woman drawing my blood was watching UTube on her phone with headphones, didn't pause her show to draw blood. I had to squeeze my arm on the table, still didn't move her phone. After that, of course I had a "failed" test and had to go back. Called to get results, the girl on the phone tells me "you are good" and refuses to have a professional to call me because the notes already said what to do and they are busy with something important and can't talk to me at the moment. I have been going to Dr. Coleman since 1998 when I was first told by the ER that I was a diabetic. Her attention to detail and medical knowledge of this disease is unparallel. She gets to the root of the problem and discusses with you all of the options for medication and monitiors your progress. I find Dr. Coleman to be more than just a doctor, she cares about your overall health and provides you with sound advice and counsel. I have always been happy with her professional staff and the way that they treat each and every patient as though they are their only patient. WORST Front office/Billing!!!!!!! Doctors are good. But the Front office/Billing is very poor. One of my claims was rejected by the Insurance in April. So, I was trying to get in touch with the Billing Department to correct the code and resubmit the claim. I have been trying to get in touch with the person who did my billing since May. Dr. Coleman truly embodies what 21st medicine and patient care should be. I have seen her for a number of years, and I can say without hesitation, that she is by far the most knowledgeable and caring physician I have ever known. She has been able to restore my health and levels of well being to those I have not experienced since my mid twenties. She has built a facility that allows her to treat the whole patient. Appointments are easy to schedule and a majority of the services, such as blood work, are performed in house. When her office failed to return my call requesting a sick appt, I began looking for a new primary care physician.

Few Weeks ago i was seen by Hope marshalls Np and it was an extremely bad experience. She Did not spend enough time to explain my condition. She asked the receptionist who cannot even read the test results to call me to give me three abnormal test results and She did not provide any explanation of my condition. the receptionist called me when I was driving and was not able to give me any explanation about what she was reading from the lab report. I have been going to Dr. Linda Coleman since 2010. She has been awesome. I see her for regular treatment twice a year, and I don't recall ever waiting more than 15 minutes to see her. She is extremely personable and has never rushed an appointment. She has been very accommodating on appointments and her assistant Michelle bends over backwards to work with me on prescriptions and scheduling. I actually moved away from the area in 2012, but I have not been able to find a local doctor that can compare. I brought my wife to see her and she loves her also. We both fly in to see her twice a year. I cannot recommend her highly enough. read more

The office management here is horrible to deal with. I am currently trying to clear up a bill from August 2017 and there is only 1 person that can handle this issue. I received a final invoice letter stating I had 10 days or this would be sent to a collection agency. I am finding out that it is a no show for $75 from a year ago. I have never heard of this bill and I go to the office regularly and this has not come up. It seems to stem from them switching over from different billing systems. This isn't the biggest issue, it's the fact that I've been calling for a week and all I get is I have to talk to this one person. She was back in the office this Monday 8-27, I called and she isn't in. I called 8-28 at 8:18am, office just opened and now she is away from her desk. So frustrating that they can send me threatening letter but when I call, there is no sense of urgency, you talk to a brick wall, cannot talk to who she reports to. Like many of us, I have been rebuilding my credit for over 6 years, back to excellent and now I have to deal with this. read more

I'm not one to write many reviews although I do read them before I make choices in selecting service providers whether they are car repair shops or doctors. Today, I'd like to share my experience at Dr. Linda Coleman & Associates. Upon the recommendation of two friends I called to schedule a physical and was surprised to get an appointment the following day. After informing the front desk staff that I did not have insurance coverage (not offered by my employer and cost-prohibitive as a single mother) I was told that financial issues were discussed directly with the provider. As a self-pay patient, I fully expected to pay several hundred dollars if not more for my visit. When I was ushered to the exam room and had the initial intake of blood pressure, pulse, etc, the assistant said she'd be right back to do my EKG. Since I had no idea whether this visit would be $100 or $1,000 I politely declined the EKG at this time. Hope Marshall, the Nurse Practitioner enters the room and said the following three sentences to me: HOPE: So, you don't want an EKG today? ME: Not today. HOPE: Well, this is our standard of practice. You don't have ANY insurance? ME: Not a drop. HOPE: Maybe this is not the practice for you. I was completely humiliated and thoroughly insulted. In only three sentences I was invited to leave the practice. It seems that this practice or at the very least, Hope Marshall, misunderstands the concept of insurance verses self-pay. I have been managing dental practices for the past 13 years and know that providers who agree to accept insurance plans agree to accept what the insurance company says is the fee which is almost always significantly less than the office fee. As a fee-for-service patient I would have been charged (and would have paid) quite a bit more than any patient with insurance for the same procedures. Had Hope bothered to break down the charges and allow me to make an informed decision she may have "saved" me as a patient. Instead, she interrupted my polite decline of services as failure to comply and quickly decided that I should go somewhere else. So, I can only assume that Dr. Linda Coleman & Associates, Hope Marshall in particular, has no interest in serving the needs of anyone who doesn't have insurance coverage. read more

I was recently referred to Dr. Coleman's Practice, however, she was not accepting new patients, but their new member, Dr. Haritha was. I unfortunately can not provide much praise. I was seeing her for consistent headaches over the past 6 months, at times painful. I felt comfortable with her ordering an MRI to rule out a tumor and blood work. The office actually called me as soon as the test results were in to schedule my follow up discussion of the results. So far so good and I was impressed. When I went in, Dr. Haritha apologized because there was an error in the order for the MRI as it was to be with Contrast, but was actually run w/o Contrast. I had the order in my hand and know that it didn't indicate with Contrast and she told me when she gave it to me, that she had to hand write some information because she didn't know how to enter the information. When I scheduled the appointment with the Imaging Center, the 1st thing they asked was if it was with or w/o Contrast. I told them that I didn't know and the order didn't say. There was no order # on the form that Dr. Haritha gave me and the Imaging Center had no record of the order, so the best they could do was to schedule me a week out. I called back to Dr. Haritha's office to see if there was any way to schedule the MRI sooner. Jamie there asked me if the MRI was with or w/o Contrast and I told her I didn't know. She said she would check on it and call the Imaging Center and call me back. I had not heard anything close to the end of the day and called Jamie back. She told me that she called and gave them the authorization order. I explained to her (again) I was able to schedule it for a week out not having an authorization order, the reason I had contacted the office was to try and get it moved up. She told me that I needed to call the Imaging Center myself (poor customer service and tone). End result; the order was received by the Imaging Center as w/o Contrast. Dr. Haritha informed me that w/o the Contrast she could not confirm the existence of a tumor. When I suggested that we have another MRI done with Contrast, she told me that I couldn't have another MRI for at least 90 days due to the level of radiation. She then referred me to a Neurologist as she had no other suggestions or answers and felt that he may want to order the MRI with Contrast. Thanks to the error, I get to wait another 90 days to determine if I have a tumor. I did call and speak with Dr. Coleman this morning, who took a defensive approach, as I would assume she should. She did say however, that unlike Dr. Haritha, she felt that she could review my MRI results and definitively tell me if I had a tumor. She told me that she would look into it and call me back. That would be much better than waiting 90 days. read more

I can't say enough about my awesome experience with Dr. Coleman. I've been seeing her for over 10 years. She has provided services to me through some of the darkest times of my life. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2001. She has been my primary follow up doctor since I was released from my oncologist. She is very thorough in her yearly testing and follow ups. She has referred me to specialist when symptoms warranted and I can honestly say that I feel I'm in the best hands possible at all times. She has a very caring and professional attitude at all times. I have moved to the Eastern Shore and travel approx 3 hours to keep my appointments with her. The peace of mind that she provides is well worth the drive time. I do wish that we could obtain lab results of testing thru the Internet. When you have a background like mine, time is of the essence to see those results simply for peace of mind! read more

Dr. Linda Coleman has been my prime physician since 1997. I've liked her from the first day I met her. Always personable; always cheerful. She's a talented diagnostician; identifying health problems when the "experts" didn't have a clue. Her patients come first and she has shown that by consistently improving her scope of practice. Recently she has provided a lab technician in her office which has greatly decreased the lab turnaround time. I have no vested interest in the practice; just a very grateful patient. read more

I was a patient with Dr. Coleman's practice and N.P. Hope Marshall from December 2003 to January 2010 - this office threatened me with discharge from the practice a number of times, I guess so that i wouldn't sully any reputation they had in case i died - Hope has a rather cold and unfriendly attitude so i guess she just didn't like me and Dr. Coleman is even worse - it almost seems like Dr. Coleman tries to intimidate patients by talking very sternly and "getting in your face," and i'm not the only person who has said this in a review. I always had to call for lab results - it seems like they're more interested in skin treatments, judging by the placards and stand-up ads in the waiting area. The topper was when i suffered two strokes in January 2010 and no one from the office came to check on me when I was in Dr. Coleman's affiliated hospital, Inova Loudoun - i thought that was a professional courtesy but I guessed wrong with this group - it was like they wiped their hands of me - stay away from this practice.
