Visit May 2022 Office atmosphere & Staff: The ladies at the front desk were friendly and personable. The nurse was kind and attentive. The wait for the nurse to get vitals was a bit excessive in my opinion & I'm pretty lax on wait times. I believe I was in the lobby approx 60 entire minutes before being seen. Appointment was for 11:15, it's asked for be there 15 minutes prior. I didn't get taken back until 12pm. At 11:30, the 1 person ahead of me was called back - an observation. I waited an additional 30 minutes after being put in a room & had a total of 30 minutes with provider. It doesn't feel like a fair wait time for the care. Primary Care Provider Dr Sawant: This was my first in person meet. I found the Dr polite, but a bit dismissive. She didn't really seem to know how to explain my CBC results any more then I can find on the web. She had zero concern for my elevated levels or my low levels. She essentially took a wait and see approach. I do not believe she took my concerns seriously or didn't seem to actually listen. I felt that my specific lab levels should've been more of a concern while paired with the clinical physical manifestations. She did not order a CBC with a differential with initial bloodwork which I didn't realize then when one of my whole blood cell counts came back low, it still wasn't a thought to rerun my CBC w a differential immediately to see exactly which blood cells were low since different types point to different causes. It would be helpful to know going forward which one was low In my opinion. Then according to my result paperwork on one of the lab tests ordered, It stated that If many clinical symptoms show a high probability of one disease but this test was negative, there Is another test that could be done and that wasn't offered. So after the one negative test that is known for being finicky, it seemed like she had ruled out a whole category of diseases which I feel is negligent w diseases that can cause entire organs to fail. She seemed to isolate all my symptoms instead of putting them together to try to fit the puzzle together. I heavily researched many conditions using AAFP.org (American Association of Family Physicians) and Up-to-date.com and the diagnosing and evaluation process and referall procedures recommended were not followed. Like I said, I left with a wait and see approach, no treatment plan for things already going on, and many of the symptoms I spoke up about were left out of the notes and/or actually noted as a denial of specific symptoms when that was not the case. I saved myself some time and went to Ultalabtests.com and purchased my own comprehensive labs out of pocket - not able to use insurance but I bought most of the tests I thought I needed for under $200. I am super annoyed that I had to do that myself though.

But if you want a true care team--literally two doctors who will know your children by name, provide thoughtful and individualized treatment, and actually keep you informed--this is the place for you. When I first called, Anastasia let me know they're a smaller practice. So yes, I may wait on hold for a couple minutes while they're helping another patient--but I'll take that any day over the rushed, impersonal care we've experienced elsewhere. At the other offices, they'd order multiple bacterial infection tests based only on symptoms I described over the phone--without even seeing my children. That's not care--that's just billing insurance as quickly as possible. Sky Valley is the complete opposite. Her provider told us when she originally had her appointment that if she needed the physical just to call in and they would have it at the desk by the end of the day. I've been calling since Monday morning and now it's the end of the day Wednesday (I stopped by the office and they said it won't be completed today either). Bottom line is that business like this are focused on maximizing revenue and contribution goals to the "practice" than the patient and the local community healthcare needs. The doctors are now employees under these business structures (with their 9-5 workdays and kickass 401ks) and answer to what the funding source (their management) demands and controls. Hey doc-in-the-box sign these Non-disclosures to ensure you don't stray from the corporate playbook and the big Pharma sales pitches. And if you're Medicare, consider yourselves safe, forget LSFP as an option and my message all together, since seniors need not apply and belong in a third world clinic anyhoot. Folks in Lovettsville are witnessing these keen eye on revenue goals with the closure of this office because, as the email states, it's due to "financial challenges" due to the increasing costs to operate as an "independent medical office" (really, independent?, that lends to an oxymoron you employee-doctor). Following guidance from O'Hanrahan the accountant and LSFP concluded that consolidation is the answer and maximize patient counts and wait times coupled with a good drive allows for inner reflection and self healing. Or is really about pulling the numbers and matching the billing code that maximizes revenues for practice contributions (can't call it profit -- right you kinda like non-profit business entity)? By the way, certain billing codes need not apply. Come on, rather than bringing medical services to the community, the community must now travel to the medical service wherever it may be and a little reflection on a long drive is like a spoonful of big Pharma medicine. Dare I mention now, only if you have a qualifying plan, so call before you go, since there are only six insurance plans accepted. Other plans need not apply. But wait!.. with the right plan and age and pharma gullibility, you still have a choice of five LSFP facilities to inconveniently travel to; and get there early for the free toaster! Maybe not a toaster, unwrapped sausages in a can perhaps? Doctors seem to be focused on trends and administrative checkboxes and counts to satisfy the folks that sign their paychecks and approve their leave rather than individual patient care or well-being.
