Horrible service...walked in to remove shellac from my toe nails and get my eyebrows…read morethreaded..explained I was having foot surgery on Tuesday (day after tomorrow) and I would appreciate being squeezed in...they told me to have a seat (they weren't that busy only 4 people there and one of them was getting her nails dried by a fan) and that they would start with the shellac removal which would only take 5 minutes. After about 10 minutes a lady walked in and sat for not even one minute and said she wanted her eyebrows threaded (NO APPOINTMENT either) so one of the staff moved me inside and I thought okay great I'm getting some service and then I notice after a few minutes the lady that walked in after me to get her eyebrows threaded was paying and leaving after she had gotten serviced before me ALL while I was seated STILL WAITING for anyone to even acknowledge me!! I usually bite my tongue but I couldn't take how nonchalant they were about it so I politely mentioned the above so of course I ended up getting a crappy job for my eyebrows which I have to repeat over as if nothing was done and they used a buffer to remove my shellac (only feet) and ended up charging me $20!!!! Not even any cuticle oil or acetone was used..what a frickin joke!..I have a buffer at home if I wanted to use it I wouldn't have visited a salon and yet...I remained courteous til the end...minus the tip of course! Note: I am always hating on people who write bad reviews that sound like they just have a stick up their u know what...but for once I am feeling empathetic towards them..maybe I should applaud them for taking the time to warn others about businesses that should be closed...if u can't do customer service get another job...there's plenty of jobs out there where u don't have to be in contact with human beings. Also, smile a little..it goes a long way!

Anyways there weren't any customers in the store and there were three people working so they all focused on me. They were really nice! They used really nice furniture and massage chairs when you do the pedicure! I was okay with the experience esp the pedicure part but after I got home I realized they cut the cuticles on my fingernails too far and pretty much all my fingers are infected. Now I need to put polysporin on it. I don't do that many manicures but I would have expected better. I also wondered if the nail buffer block (orange filing block) was new. When they first pulled it out for me, the edges and some of the corners looked worn out. Would I go back again? Probably not.

And I've only gotten my nails done 3x in my lifetime. 2 of those times were at Nailed It Studios though so I feel it's time to leave them a review. Nailed It Studios is a tiny, appointment-only, cash-only, 3-woman shop, though I think they're hiring more nail techs to keep up with their insane demand. They're located in the weirdly isolated Langham Square mall on Kennedy but are thriving thanks to their impressive Instagram feed and what I'm guessing is a lot of referrals. When your nails last more than a month without chipping/lifting, you're bound to get questions on where you got them done. I got my nails done by Maggie, then Margie. Maggie is extremely sweet but was a little rough when filing one of my fingers. It didn't hurt per say, but it wasn't comfortable, and I left with a bit of swelling that lasted for 2 days. Same thing happened to my friend. That was literally the only flaw though, as my nails survived for the 6 weeks afterwards, with no lifting or dulling. My second time with Margie was even better. I'm a bad customer because I fidget and tend to stiffen up my hands a lot, due to them being perched in permanent typing position. She was patient with me and the nails turned out perfectly, no discomfort at all. That's why she's the boss. Her marble designs are legendary. Bookings are done conveniently on Whatsapp and first timers need to drop a $20 deposit, in person or through e-transfer. I love this. It ensures I have a transcript of my bookings and I get to ask questions and get quotes on designs I find on Pinterest. They take bookings one month in advance. Margie runs the Whatsapp and she's very responsive. Pricing is extremely fair. They only use gel and it starts at $30. $2/nail for matte, $5 for special polishes, and $6-$12+ for intricate designs. $10 to remove polish. Prices are transparent, reasonable, and you pay for quality stuff. They also give a stamp card which gives you 20% off after your 10th visit. As a woman who appreciates nice nails, grande lattes, and a good pun, Nailed It is the perfect place for me to pumpkin spice up my life and my Instagram feed. When they do the french pedicure, its just right! Not too thick, not too thin. They also have a couple rooms where they do waxing and facials. The nail salon also offers services for kids. (Check out the images for pricing) The staff is very friendly and they keep the place clean, including immediately sanitizing the little tubs right after a pedicure . I felt very comfortable here. These were the things that I've noted and remembered: PROS - ladies that were servicing were really nice and courteous - took in last minute appointments - service was done professionally - no pain from any of the services - usually I experience some pain with nail buffering and the UV light heating, I didn't experience that here - despite the fact that the esthetician didn't know how to do the "marble effect" she attempted it until it was up to what I wanted - the gradient of the white was used with a professional spray to have a really flawless effect, not hand drawn so I appreciated that - they provided a complimentary hand and arm massage along and applied lotion at the end CONS - the lasted me three weeks vs the usual four weeks that I get, but I do understand, I'm not exactly the most delicate with my nails and hands - one of the esthetician was new at the job so she was much slower, but quality wasn't compromised - pricing maybe a little more than your typical nail salons - salon looks a little run down, more humbling decor Overall, this was a really nice experience, definitely, if you have time, go to this place, they do offer really good quality customer service and will get the job to the best of their abilities.

The pedi: basic...she used a file to remove rough areas...my biggest problem is rough heels and sides of my feet so I asked if she can spend some.more time on those areas. It's a very quick pedi...no hot cloth, no scrubbing just a massage..quick polish and done...not a single smile on this lady Then the mani, this was a little better than the pedi...she was a lot more meticulous with the cuticles and shape but it was an unpleasant experience...the technician who I never got a name never smiles (an older chubby middle aged lady), never speaks to u even when I tried to initiate conversations it was 1 word replies so we sat in awkward silence. The nails were okay but for a shellac mani she didn't even use a base coat...once again...no hand scrub or massage just applied cream then a hot towel. Then here's the kicker....I initially had intentions of switching my regular nail place bc this is closer so when I came in I had asked if they did packages like 4 treatments for 100 or something...she's like if u come back we can do 5 dollars off each I'm like oh okay...at the end of the treatment she asked if I was interested I told her no in gonna see how this goes first...she seemed upset..told me its 58 dollars bc they had to remove shellac (my other place doesn't charge), then asked if cash or debit ...I said debit then she put it through and then told me she charges tax with debit..so I said okay fine I have some cash I can do that..she's like I already punched it in....so I'm like that's fine...so I paid 65 dollars for a shitty experience...she tries to give me some card at the end..I just said no thanks u can keep that.
