Every person I encountered, every interaction from precheck in to checkout, was pleasant, unstressed and even enjoyable. I was very relaxed with the care given before and after surgery. I had endoscopic carpal tunnel surgeries on both hands plus both thumbs trigger finger release. It is hard to see where my incisions were. Dr. McCullough is an excellent physician and so personable. Overall happy with the procedure, but unhappy with the lies around billing vs insurance. They noted that I would being paying upfront and reimbursed based on what ever the insurance provided. After following up with them they only are noting that they had split charges and only one did the insurance paid out for and the payment would be paid. Assuming it's in the contract that was explained the other way but definitely be careful of their billing practices. I wouldn't have advise to check in with another place that is more upfront with their billing practices. read more

I got a surprise bill for $4,000. After many disputes with their unhelpful billing team and being told that I need a better job to receive care, they resolved the issue. The absolute worst surgical center with the absolute worst staff. The Nurse that brought my daughter out gave us directions that she can repeatedly take Advil for pain. That advice was the worst thing for the recovery of her surgery, per her surgeon.... This was a huge mistake on the part of the nurse of Linden surgical. Besides this enormous mistake, they made us pay a very large sum upfront before the surgery, and said that they will reimburse us when our insurance makes payment. Well our insurance paid them and they have yet to reimburse us. They have been giving us the runaround for months without any payment or clarity. This is not a professional place.... They're billing seems very sketchy. I've never paid so much out of pocket in advance. The morning of my surgery I was asked to pay over $500 in advance even though I was going to an in-network doctor. That was definitely a first. They said it was to cover what my insurance wouldn't. But it's now almost 2 months later and I still have no refund or even accounting of my final bill. I've called their billing office 3x and have still had no reply. They also didn't follow up with me after my surgery until 2 weeks later. So the entire thing seems very unlike anything I've ever experienced. read more

My husband had surgery on Friday, Sept 10th. Foe whatever reason he was assigned to have a same day surgery out of this place. Horrible care. Horrible experience. Front office staff was condescending and dismissive. And the nursing staff, specifically the charge nurse for that day was horrible. Rude and unwilling to help. They discharged my husband with no prescription and when we called to help we were dismissed and treated poorly. Luckily the surgeon is worth the hassle. The Surgical Center is fine, but the billing office is 100% corrupt. I was required to pay $1,300 on the morning of my surgery. It turns out that several months and dozens of phone calls later, I should've only had to pay $290 that morning. Melinda at their billing office told me I'd be getting a $1,000 refund. After several weeks and no refund, I called and was told that although my refund was approved, it was currently in Stage 1 of a 3-stage process. I was told a refund could take 6-8 weeks. The true nightmare began when I woke up still on the operating table. My eyes were covered, the breathing tube still in, and people were pressing on my face so I had no way of letting them know I was awake. It felt like I was still getting stitches, although I can't know for sure since I couldn't see. I was immediately hit with a wall of pain since pain medicine had yet to be administered. Desperate and unsure what to do since I didn't know if there were scalpels out or if I would injure myself, I started moaning and trying to move my hands so someone would notice I was awake. They immediately started to try to calm me down and removed the breathing tube, triggering my asthma instantly as well as some anxiety. I start telling them that I was in a lot of pain and felt like I was wheezing. This is when Nicky, the worst nurse I have ever encountered in my life, comes into the picture. I just had an extensive 4 hour nose surgery and my entire face, head, and neck are throbbing to say the least. Nicky starts asking me if I want to take Advil or Motrin, to which I desperately respond "I don't know, I feel like this requires actual pain medication" and then she tried to tell me I'm not feeling surgical pain, I'm just having a migraine.....I have no response for this because that's so completely absurd. I keep begging her for pain medicine and the anesthesiologist returns and tells me for my breathing concerns, the nurses will give me a small Ventolin inhaler and that should help immediately. They then cover my face with an ice pack and give me an oxygen mask, both of which are piled on my nose and worsening my pain so I start trying to take them off. Nicky eventually returns and starts asking me random questions to which I respond by saying that I need pain medication, and she finally agrees to give me fentanyl - quite the jump from Tylenol right? She then repeats over and over again that my breathing is fine and I must have misunderstood the anesthesiologist and didn't need an inhaler. She tells me that if I really was having trouble breathing then I should wear the oxygen even though it's hurting me (which I know is not true as someone who's had to be hospitalized for asthma). I have also now had 14 surgeries due to an accident I was in as a child and know my body well. When I expressed this to her, she responded by saying "how am I supposed to know, I don't know you." I don't know how she could say that when it's literally in my chart, and every single person had reviewed my surgical history that day. At this point I tell her I'm still in pain and she says "that's because we only give you a little bit of pain medicine and if it doesn't help then will give you more." So I said I need more, which she never gave me. I then tell her, I'm in pain, I feel like I can't breathe, the last thing I want to do is keep arguing with you. She responded by saying "I'm just giving you back what you've been giving me." At that point I just started crying because I realized this person is not here to help me, which I expressed to her as well. I then just asked her if she could call my mom and have her bring me my inhaler from home since the nurse wasn't going to help me. I then asked to sign paperwork to leave early because she made it clear she didn't want me to feel better, she refused to do this as well. Thankfully my surgeon then came over and told her to give me an inhaler if the anesthesiologist said to do it and I was asking for it. Nicky still refused and I could hear her talking badly about me to pretty much whoever would listen. But thankfully another nurse who overheard everything went and got me the inhaler, and she intervened and helped me the rest my time, bringing me additional pain medication, water when Nicky again refused, and she contacted my mom as well. I am extremely thankful to this woman although I didn't get her name, I was very scared at that point and in extreme pain and she was the only person who would help me. Unfortunately for me, I know this will not be my last surgery, but I know that for as long as I live, I will never return to this surgical center. read more

If I could I would give a zero. I had a nurse yell at me in a commanding,derogatory approach. She allowed me to lay in a urine soaked bed, after she spilled bedpan. Then she wanted me to sit in it while I was putting shoes on. She gave me a suction machine and not any instruction, even though I asked for instruction. My husband also asked and she didn't or couldn't explain to him. Surgery was 3 hours after appointed time. Anesthesiologist was ill prepared. I will never go here again. read more

The anesthesiologists is an extremely kind man and all of the nurses are as well. Honestly, there is not one bad seed there. Beware of their shady billing practices. I had surgery there on February 19, 2020. I was asked to pay my $2,000 deductible at the time of surgery knowing that I would be re-imbursed $1,500 of it from my HRA (health reimbursement account) through UnitedHealthCare. I was assured I would receive the reimbursement approximately 1 month after surgery when the explanation of benefits were received. I stayed on top of this the entire time. I even emailed their billing office The explanation of benefits the moment I received it from my insurance. I called to check in on a weekly basis to determine the status of my reimbursement. Since I paid the deductible and my insurance paid them $1,500 from my HRA, they were to credit my card the $1,500 from what was essentially a double payment. This is very standard and nothing new as far as billing is concerned. Into April and May each time I called I was assured the credit was on its way but there was no one in that specific department who was able to speak to me, they said. Finally the last time I called them last week I was told I wasn't receiving a reimbursement and that I wasn't owed one. I hung up and called United Health Care. United Health Care confirmed that I was indeed owed this money back to me and put me on hold and called Linden billing office and explained to them that this was a double payment and they needed to refund me. UHC told me they apparently have to do this all the time because billing offices try to play dumb and get out of issuing refunds and since they are in-network there is contractual obligation to do so and it is a legal matter. Linden billing called me the same day to let me know they would be issuing me the $1,500 credit and claimed it was confusion on their behalf, which is wasn't as they process claims like this ALL THE TIME. I spoke to a supervisor named Luke because I wanted to file a complaint. After a few minutes of questions I was able to keep him honest and learned that the company was placing any payments on hold because of the coronavirus. So there was no confusion- that was just the excuse they were giving. SHAME ON THIS COMPANY. I was told on Thursday last week that they were issuing a credit back to my credit card. Still no credit today.. I have a call in to their company today.. let's see what their excuse is now. I'm sure the surgery center is fine but the billing office for the company is intentionally corrupt. If you plan on using your HRA for a procedure, please use an honest company to do so or you'll find yourself chasing them for months. read more

I had surgery yesterday at the Linden Center and I can't speak highly enough about the staff here. Everyone, from the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, is incredibly friendly, helpful and welcoming. I joked with the nurses until it was time to be taken into the surgery room and they were absolutely awesome. From explaining everything thoroughly to making sure I was completely warm and comfortable waiting for the anesthesiologist and doctor, and then in post-op, nothing was amiss. While I hope to never have surgery again, I would choose Linden in a heartbeat if I did. read more

I had an epidural injection (pain management) at Linden Surgical this week and was extremely impressed. Outpatient is their business, and they do it well. 1. Customer service was outstanding from check-in to check-out. Excellent 2. Staff members are personable and efficient. There is a lot of teamwork in this facility, which translates to better patient care. Nurses and staff members actively assist one another with the goal of making it a better patient experience. I was impressed. There are no slackers here. 3. A wide variety of docs are using Linden, which indicates a good reputation amongst medical providers. It is not difficult to understand why. 4. Their goal is to stay on schedule and get you back home as quickly as it is medically appropriate. For me, this is critical. Once an outpatient procedure is complete, I want to be home in my bed. 5. Aesthetically, Linden was clean and simple - exactly what you would expect from this sort of facility. I have a background in healthcare and have seen dozens of these facilities. Most impressive here was the staff and the coordination between team members. Kudos to whomever manages this team! read more

This review is for their horrible billing practice. I paid what I was told was my patient portion prior to surgery. I found out I had overpaid by logging into my insurance portal and seeing my processed EOB. I called the billing office and spoke to Rachel who said they had not received payment from the insurance, but would keep an eye out for it and process the refund as soon as payment came in. Fast forward to today, no refund (still). So I called thr billing office again and spoke to Rachel who gave me one version of what's happening. I told her they have 24 hours to process the refund. She then suggested I speak to a supervisor to help push that refund through. I waited on hold for nearly 10 minutes before Ashley picked up. Ashley then gave me ANOTHER version of events that were not consistent with what Rachel told me. I was very blunt with Ashley... told her they have 24 hours to post my refund to my original form of payment. I'm now notifying my surgeon's office, my insurance carrier and another involved entity. This is not the way to treat people. From the comments on here, I see that not refunding patients timely seems to be fairly common. I don't play ... I'm not just going to make waves for myself, but for other people that they do this to. read more

I was there for hand surgery normally my Doctor does his surgeries out of Cedars Sinai but with the Pandemic he was doing his surgeries at Linden. At first everything seemed normal, but it was the after care that was really off and strange. To set the stage, I am disabled and take Access to get around. The nurse in charge of me seemed nice but very jumpy. Before my surgery she insisted on my cell phone being in a clear plastic bag and not the bag that held my clothes and hand bag. My phone was hung on my gurney in a clear plastic bag, and once I was transferred to the operating table my phone which she said would stay with me through the surgery was wheeled away. I didn't complain because I am boring person with nothing to hide. Once out of surgery, I woke up an hour after a general anesthesia surgery, I have never waken up so fast ever. It was all very unusual and my nurse seemed panicked to get me awake and out as fast as she possible could. I didn't know how long my recovery would, normally I take under General anesthesia about 3-4 hours. So I chose a noon pick up with Access. This upset my nervous nurse and she asked could someone else pick me up? I said no and then she wanted the number of Access to call them and see if they could pick me up sooner, she said they said no. This seem to fluster her further. I asked for my phone and I called Access explained how Linden wanted me out ASAP, they kindly gave me a 10:30 am pick up. My nurse had me up and dressed by 9:15 am. I asked could I wait in the lobby for my ride so I could watch the news that was playing, she said no. She than wheeled my chair into a tiny room that was more of a cupboard with extra chairs stacked and old equipment, there was tv on the wall she was excited over there being a tv I guess because I wanted to watch the news, she turned it on and let me in the cupboard with the tv on that only played one channel the Prices Right. My nursed I think was trying to hide me for some unknown reason or place me where I could not see anyone. By this time I was desperate to leave as soon as I possible could I asked could I take lift home, she said no, and I never wanted to leave somewhere so bad and neve return. I was nauseous and felt heavy with anesthesia but I was ready to crawl out. I have never felt so unwelcome anywhere. I was always nice and pleasant to all. Being I was in pain before and after the surgery, I didn't really say that much. So my extremely unpleasant experience left me preplexed with why I was treated in such a manner. I would never go back nor sugest anyone else who is disabled or not get a surgery there for any reason. So I would say Linden Surgical Center in Beverly Hills is hard no from me. Treating people with respect and dignity with a disability is something they don't know how to do. read more

"I" have endured this violation several times now and all I can say is that "Linden" makes it as soft a landing as possible.. Get ready for it Bubba, cuz it IS an unavoidable eventuality from which you can NOT hide!!! Do you want me to sugar coat it for you? Would you like to think it is akin to a trip to "LEGOLAND"??? Fuggeddabout it Clarence!! There is NOTHING "good" about this "experience" except it being "OVER"! Allow me to suggest a few things... "IF", you go to a "Lessor" facility, they will give you a couple of (what seems like) GALLONS of some vile tasting liquids of a "DRAINO" oriented medication that will cause you to squirt like a sprinkler on the 5th hole at La Quinta while you howl like a Banshee and PRAY for respite.. "Linden" at least participates with a "Movieprep Solution" that if mixed with Trader Joe's "Sparkling Lemonade" is tolerable.. As a matter of fact if it was allowed this would make a good mixer for Vodka!! Don't do that, I am just making an observation.. Trust me, have a good spouse that will NOT fall into hysteria while your sitting on the "white porcelain altar" while your thighs quiver in an uncontrollable spasm and you whimper in submission... THIS, my Dear young Pretender of strength, is where the term "In the SHITZ!!" comes from... NOW, onto the procedure.... "IF", you are smart enough, or if NOT financially "Strapped", and you are able to afford "it", get your ass "KNOCKED OUT!!!" "PROPOFOL"!!! Yip, the stuff that off'd MJ!!! It IS your friend!!! As the wonderful young Nurse that welcomed me and wheeled me in asked, "How ARE you?" To which I answered "Empty and RAW!" to which she smirked a knowing smirk!! The folks at Linden are really great, and if you ask me I shall share my Doctor's name with you.. So in you go, and in the name of efficiency, they wheel you into place and before I could request the Doc (as per my Girlfriend) that should he find my head "UP my ass" to please LEAVE it there!", I was "OUT", hearing the great Anesthesiologist say, "You'll feel a warm fee....." ~GONE~ Now mind you, I was having a "Dual" procedure performed which the upper part is called an "Endoscopy"... See what your aftertaste is in the hopes that they didn't mix up the procedures!! Now, once again, trust me on this... DURING your colonoscopy, they will fill your bowels with "Air". (VERY uncomfortable if you choose to stay "awake"). AS they wheel you back to recovery, you WILL"Toot" like a Stern wheeler headed for 'Nawlins with a load of Cotton... Suggest you watch "Showboat" and get some chorus down a'fir you get this far, it REALLY gets the Nursing staff giggling, and they deserve some levity.. So now you are "recovering".. "IF" you have followed my suggestions, recovery is a simple awakening... IF you are a "Cheapskate", you are in misery!! As you get into the car, you are, if you traveled by the medicated route, "Gooey"... If by the cheep-ass route, I'm sorry for you Beauregard, I tried to warn you.... ~REMEMBER~ You have just had 40 some-odd feet of stainless steel garden hose mercilessly inserted into various orifices of your body while lights and cameras captured it for posterity. Hopefully it won't make "Entertainment Tonight"... As for you giggling Ladies, wait until your men experience "Kidney Stones" before they REALLY understand "Childbirth"!!! Bottom line?? You get what you pay for, and Linden makes it as painless as possible... The "GOOD" news?? I don't have to endure the "Silver Stallion" for TEN years!!! WAHOOOOooooooooo!!!! I recently had a procedure done at Linden, and I feel compelled to comment on my experience there. The waiting room was bright, clean and comfortable. I was called in at the exact time of my appointment and from the very beginning I was treated with dignity and respect as a patient and as a person. From check in to preping me for my procedure to discharge, the entire staff was kind, patient and professional. I was quite nervous, and let everyone know. The staff reassured me and calmed my nerves. They even made me laugh to the point where I had to settle myself down to get my blood pressure taken! Everyone identified themselves by name, assured me I'd be fine (and I was), and everyone came back to check on me once I woke up from surgery. My boyfriend, who came from out of town, also complimented the staff and said he felt confident in the care I received. Everyone complains but few rarely take the time to praise and say thank you. My mom recently had a knee surgery at Linden and they were so amazing. The thing that stood out the most would have to be her nurses. From beginning to end they were sweet, caring, and made sure my mother and our entire family was comfortable. When my mom woke up they were right there all compassionate and attentive. As a daughter I spent every second panicking, but Linden was amazing to me and that was something I will never forget. The only down side was the parking, Linden does not offer validation which caused us to have to walk a while to park. Other then that, I would recommend anyone go there for surgery! read more

My Gastroenterologist recently performed a colonoscopy and endoscopy at Linden Surgical Center. First of all, don't hesitate to have these procedures done, it wasn't nearly as bad a some people describe - and, much better than the "alternative." Colonoscopy every five to ten years starting at age 45. Each procedure reportedly took about 10 minutes, I don't remember a thing after the Anesthesiologist went to work. Surgical Centers run on tight time schedules, so get organized in advance and arrive early, parking in this part of Beverly Hills can take a few minutes. Be familiar with Linden's procedures for where to be picked up by your "transportation buddy" (back parking lot, drive thru" service), and how to enter and exit that parking lot. Everybody was polite, professional and friendly. It was slightly "factory like," but I much prefer "a little factory like," organized and efficient over an overnight (or all day) in-hospital stay. Very professional staff that not only have a great rapport with the public but amongst each other as well. Pam prepped my husband and she was wonderful. Becky was the nurse who was assigned to him during recovery. She is highly experienced- been doing this kind of thing since the 70's and she was extremely knowledgeable and kind.
