Dr. Wheeler did a good job explaining everything the expected to see, why it happens, and then did a full inspection and explained what I needed done. Through it all he was very pleasant. Not overly friendly, but definitely pleasant and comfortable to ask as many questions as you want. He anticipated which procedure I would need and had his office my insurance ahead of time to get a quote. The office was very clean, everyone I interacted with was very nice and knowledgeable, and even the waiting area had comfortable chairs and a refrigerator with bottled water.

Apparently they are more concerned about getting the next surgery in and out than patient post-op care. Their billing practices are suspect as well. I underwent a full-mouth restoration, including upper and lower dentures and multiple extractions, at a cost of approximately $20,000. At the time, I believed I was beginning a process that would be supported through completion, with the goal of restoring my smile and quality of life. Nearly three years later, I am deeply disappointed to say that consistent follow-up and clear guidance toward completion have not occurred. This has been not only frustrating, but disheartening--especially given the importance of this type of treatment. I also experienced a significant difference between the initial estimate and the final amount requested, which was not clearly explained in advance. When I raised my concerns with the office, I did not feel that they were handled with the level of care, understanding, or accountability I had hoped for as a patient. At 70 years old, this has been a difficult experience, and I would not want others--especially those facing major dental procedures--to go through something similar. I strongly encourage anyone considering treatment here to ask detailed questions, get everything in writing, and fully understand the long-term plan before proceeding. The tooth was a sensitive one (really, who would know our mouths and pain thresholds better than ourselves?), so asked for anesthetic right away. Was assured it would not be painless. Reader, it was definitely NOT painless. Fast forward through many requests, tears from pain, and we have 3 injections (assume lidocaine or equivalent) but none of them went into the correct affected area, so.... you guessed it...continued pain. Tears streaming down her face, all body language points to abject terror from the pain. Very little empathy from the Dr Mata, not to mention patient-shaming(?) with "we just don't normally see such a sensitive tooth". No assistant, so no advocate and no suction of all the gross numbing agents, despite multiple pleas and gestures for suction. The paper towel-ish bib at the end of all of this more closely resembled a loose wet clump of laundry lint than any sort of tangible fiber. Lack of empathy and patience in a dentist and overall terrible beside manner is probably not what anybody wants for procedures that every person already dreads. Other reviews are positive, so maybe it was just a really really really really terrible day for him. Or maybe he could use a vacation and a refresher course in bedside manner.

But the way they treated me yesterday with patience, respect, and kindness made a huge difference. What I appreciated the most was the privacy they give to each patient. The staff was incredibly friendly and very willing to help, which is something I truly loved about this place. In the past, I've gone to dental offices where I didn't feel cared for and it seemed like they were just checking teeth without really caring about your dental health. Well I was asked if the king Soopers on Ralston Rd was the correct pharmacy I said yes because that's where I go. How it got sent to ward Road idk. I called to let them know what happened because I get really bad anxiety at the dentist and the thought of all my teeth being pulled is terrifying for me so I didn't go in at my 8 o'clock scheduled appointment I know it's frustrating to have people not show up but it wasn't my fault had it been sent to the correct pharmacy I would have had it and been there at 8. So I'm talking to the girl who sent the meds and she gets all rude and says the prescription has been sent since Friday and was mad that I had to be rescheduled for Monday. I didn't have a ride to get the meds on Friday or Saturday but I had one yesterday and I thought everything was ok because I thought it was at the pharmacy I go to. Well I called back again after being rescheduled to Monday and I asked if it was possible to get in later today and she's even more rude. And sounds angry that I even asked such a question. If this is how people get treated for things that aren't even their fault maybe I should just find someone else who has people that are understanding because this was not my fault and if she couldn't remember exactly what kiing Soopers it was she should have called and asked again. Not everyone has a car to get around or can take public transportation. I needed to be there today my teeth have been bothering me all weekend. And now I have to wait cause she didn't send my meds to the correct pharmacy. If anyone should be upset it should be me.
