This was Filo. Unfortunately, he escaped from the house and chased on animal down the canyon and was attacked by a coyote.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Drs. Lindsey, Stoll, and Allison as well as the staff are excellent and caring.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm happy to hear they are relocating close by on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. The practice is popular and the current office is too small. I followed Dr. Lindsey from La Jolla. He has cared for my dogs and cats for, probably, 35 years. He is talented, empathetic and straight forward regarding treatments prescribed and likely outcomes. I am thankful to have found him. Mary Mae

Dr Bruce is amazing and very caring. He went out of his way to get us in when our girl was sick. The office staff is always nice and welcoming and my dogs love them all! My dogs have never been so relaxed at the vet before!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm beyond grateful for the care, compassion, and support that was given to my foster puppy at this clinic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Dr. Lindsey and his team took excellent care of my dog, from monitoring the healing of her broken leg, to prescribing antibiotics, and caring about her mental health by giving her a sedative antidepressant. The team also gave me a walk and food care plan for my puppy's healing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everyone in the office was incredibly nice and professional and by the end of it I was teary eyed with relief, knowing that my puppy would be happier moving forward.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you, Dr. Lindsey!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr Stoll and Dawn were the best to my baby- my torti-tudey Lunar is very hard to bring to the vet regardless of being medicated.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dawn and Dr Stoll took their time with her, were so patient, and clearly had so much care for my baby from the start.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will only be requesting them as a duo for my particular daughter from now on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Thank you so much for your care![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Nothing but amazing things to say about this team. Both Doctors and all the staff are phenomenal. They are all so kind and genuinely caring people, and you can tell they love what they do. I have been taking my Pug there for years and have not had a single complaint (besides the fact they aren't open on weekends) If you are looking for a Vet who actually cares about you and your furry family this is the spot! Thank you team for all your help. It is greatly greatly appreciated

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr Lindsey, Dr Allison and their whole team have been amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our pup needed special care after he had been traumatized by his last vet when he went in to be neutered. This past experience caused extreme anxiety for our little guy which made it difficult for vets to handle him. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Dr Lindsey's team have been so patient and worked with us to make sure our pup could get the care he needed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Toby has come such a long way with the help of Dr Lindsey's team! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We cannot thank them enough![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Kai came in for her exam and everyone was super nice! The doctor explained everything thoroughly. I also liked that they send out an estimate before scheduling so you can make your decision without rushing. Defined recommend this place !

    Fastest Labrador in the world.
    Dustin B.

Do you like their cover photo? Of course you do. What is not to love, Roofus is the sexiest and fastest Labrador in the world. At 100lbs of muscle, fur, skin and bones, this Labrador doesn't have an ounce of fat on him. Some might even consider him to be a perfect specimen. When he isn't protecting his household he is looking for fun and new people and creatures to spend time with. He likes runs on the beach, bike rides and well, retrieving. As such, Roofus is very cautious about what he eats and takes very good care of his body. With a vigorous exercise routine and healthy eating he really had the perfect physique and such a perfect specimen like Roofus only goes to the best doctor, and you guessed right, that doctor is Dr. Lindsey. In following Dr. Lindsey's routines and reccommendations Roofus has been able to blossom into the amazing creature he is today. Whether it is routine shots or recovering from saving a family from a burning building, Roofus goes to Dr. Lindsey for all of his medical needs. As should you. Make an apt with the best vet ever and you will have your mind blown!

My dog Petrie (Pug, 8 years old) was suddenly vomiting blood and also had it in his stool. I was panicked, because in the 8 years I've had him, I've never seen him sick like that. I rushed him to an emergency vet even though B street is his primary care vet. The emergency vet had us wait for two hours just to hand us a pamphlet of where else we should go (in all fairness I'm sure there was more emergent medical issues going on there that they had to tend to first, and I was going to be on a long list of waits) but B street was at capacity that day and after I told them the issue they squeezed us in. They even gave us a private waiting room where the air conditioning worked better to wait in because my pug is a brachycephalic breed which usually do not do well in hot environments. During the first visit Dr. Olsen was very helpful and comforting to Petrie. She went over all the issues she thought it could be, all while petting my dog and making us feel comfortable. After labs/tests came back she explained everything in detail and very thoroughly about probiotics/antibiotics. Unfortunately I had to bring him back a few days later because his itching got worse (I'd assume unrelated to the first visit, he's just always had allergies) but he had a scratched so much overnight he had a horrible hotspot the next day. They told me I could come in the next day without hesitation and no appointment. The Doctor that saw him that day was Dr. Elena. She was just as professional and compassionate. She gave me tips and tricks on how to treat the itching better, and put him on a few more antibiotics after they shaved and cleaned the hotspot. I received two follow up emails reiterating treatment and what we spoke about in person. Not automated, real person to person emails. I really appreciated that. Petrie is doing much better thanks to these amazing women! Of course along side their brilliant team of techs and receptionists. The whole operation is so dialed in and kind!! Can't sing their praises enough.

They stay pretty busy, and the waiting area is small, so I prefer waiting outside or in my car since it gets crowded inside. They also take your dog in the back without you well before the exam, vaccines, or procedure. Just a heads‑up if that's something you care about or prefer to be present for. The staff themselves were very friendly -- upbeat, bubbly, and kind -- which definitely helps the experience. I was referred here by the rescue, so I came in for two vaccines. Even though the wait was long, everything went smoothly, and I got a call a few hours later to pick up my pup. Overall, a busy walk‑in clinic with friendly staff and straightforward care, but plan ahead for the wait and the drop‑off style.

Sassy is a chunky snowshoe breed, 10+ years old. Her previous owner passed away from Covid, and she became part of my family in 2023. In 2025, I was devastated to learn that she has Stage 4 renal disease. Her liver is failing, and without proper treatment, her life would have been cut short. Dr. Karen Kurowski and her incredible team--Lindsey, Nate, Sunny, Hyda, and the other compassionate vet techs--have been a lifeline. They gave me a clear plan to follow, supported me with each step, and have truly helped sustain Sassy's life. She is now on the right medications, and I give her fluid injections every other day as her "second kidney." Because of their care, Sassy has been able to live not just longer--but better. What I love most about this hospital is that it feels less about money and more about what's right for the animal. Veterinary care can be expensive, especially when you have multiple cats like I do. But here, I have always felt they try to keep costs reasonable and make sure I'm not overwhelmed. They are honest, practical, and thoughtful--always focusing first on the well-being of my pets. That kind of integrity means the world to me. Today, Sassy is thriving in her "fourth quarter." She doesn't know she is ill. She lives with joy, gratitude, and happiness every single day. It is my honor to care for her, and it is thanks to Dr. Kurowski and her team that she is enjoying this chapter of her life so fully. For anyone looking for a veterinary office that combines expertise, compassion, and fairness, Scripps Ranch Veterinary Hospital is that rare place. I will always be grateful to them for the care and love they've shown Sassy--and me.

While this is not a review on the vet that is currently practicing at this office it's a review of…read moreultimately how things were handled and initial treatment of my dog. I took my dog here 11 years ago now for spay surgery. While recovery went well and no complications at the time occured I discovered 10 years later after she had an additional abdominal surgery for a tumor on her liver by another vet that surgical gauze had been left from a previous surgery- the only previous surgery she's ever had was her spay. Because of the left foreign matter in her abdomen her body -luckily- encapsuled the gauze which then adheared to multiple organs. To the extent that when we removed it during her recent liver tumor surgery a portion of her intestions and pancreas needed to be removed as well and everything sent for biopsy. While I'm thankful this is the "worst" that happened because of this negligence- the alternative was her going into sepsis and dying. So I guess pick your poison? When I contacted the office to report - essentially malpractice- initially I was left to feel ignored. My information was taken and I was told the owner of the practice (same owner as when the initial surgery was completed) would phone me back. After a couple follow up calls the office manager (not vet owner as requested) called me back to get my info and story. I eventually was put in contact with the owner Dr Dio. He listened and apologized and then informed me that vet was no longer there. But not why. Nor would he provide their license number so I could report this to the vet board. Ultimately after explaining the situation and asking for reimbursement of the additional 1600$ spent on the additional surgery and biopsy because the mass was unknown. He offered me free vet treatment at his office. (Y'all almost killed my dog? Why would I go back there for treatment??) When I expressed that wasn't satisfactory he then offered a refund for the initial surgery...$300. I again expressed this isn't what I good enough for the problem that occured. He left the phone call that he would discuss with his office manager and get back to me- surprise surprise- they never contacted me again. Once again- this is not a review on the current Dr pearson- I've worked with her at other vet offices in the past and she's wonderful. But this is reflection on how the owner Dr Dio handles situations that occur with vets under his practice.

I've heard about some Veterinarians who tend to pad their bills with extra services and items, but until this visit I hadn't really experienced it. We brought our older (and basically healthy) dog in today because she was sick on Thursday (vomiting food & water). She felt better on Friday and today, but we brought her in anyway to get checked out. Cue the huge bill! The original estimate on the high side was $1300, and we had them lower that estimate by a few $100 by removing a couple of services including xrays. Then after she'd been there for a few hours, they indicated that she needed more tests to the tune of nearly $1000. We had them do most of them, but not all. As I'm writing this on Sunday, Cali is feeling much better, she's now on a low-fat diet, and the tests that they did all turned out negative. (We're still waiting on the results of the urinalysis.) Thank goodness, but jeez... They also negatively impacted my bank account. I'm glad my dog is feeling better, and she's worth any cost honestly, but I sincerely feel that some of things they did were not necessary, and didn't need to be done this time, or could have been pushed forward and a determination about their necessity could've been made after we made some changes and monitored her. It is what it is at this point, but I just suggest that you pay close attention to the estimates and bills at this Vet Hospital, and knowing your pet, make the right decisions for them, whatever they may be. Mahalo.
