I have been taking my dogs here for a few years. They do a great job. I have tried a few other places and none of them worked out well, having them get nicked by scissors or doing a terrible job and overcharging me. Lindsay's Groom Room has been cutting all 3 of our dog's hair for about 2 years. Recently we dropped off our dogs for another round of cuts. Our dog came home with a slice across her ear width wise. We didn't notice right away because of the way her ears sit but when I felt it we reached out to Lindsay (The Owner and Groomer) immediately. We were told Lindsay was celebrating her birthday and would get back to use the next day. We had to reach out several times before we received any contact. Lindsay decided the best way to handle the situation was to call us back a week late, and leave a rude voicemail asking us why we waited so long to reach out to her when in fact, it was Lindsay who must have really been enjoying her birthday all week! She chose to have no compassion, and never even asked if the dog was okay. Typical spoiled brat owner who runs her business like a lemonade stand. Carolyn really tried her very best to make this situation better but we all know what it's like to have a boss who does not care and isn't responsive. You can really only do so much. So if you want to leave your dog somewhere where you will not be told if your dog had an incident at the facility, this is the perfect place to risk your dog's well-being. I brought my pup here for the first time. They told me it would be about 1 1/2-2 hours. When they hadn't called me after 3 hours...I finally called. They had my sweet boy there for 4 hours to get groomed. I wonder how long they kept him licked in a cage while the groomed other dogs? Never again!!!! read more

Excellent customer service and great with large breed dogs! I called the day before and Lindsay was able to squeeze me in for a next day appointment. I have a female Rottweiler who absolutely hates having her nails cut and Lindsay and her team were amazing with her! They had me in and out of the store in under 20 mins. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone who has struggled with their dogs nail trimming. I'll be going back to her every time! read more

I took both my dogs for full service grooming, received a call 3 hours later from Lindsey herself that she was done. I picked my dogs up and they were soaking wet, shaking, and not shaved, actually shedding more than normal. Lindsey refused to give me a refund and blamed my dogs for the situation. She said they were making her staff uncomfortable therefore she did not finish the job. Will never be returning and she better hope my dogs aren't sick!!! read more

Lindsey is AMAZING! She has such a good heart and truly cares for the pets and humans who walk in her door. As a new doggie mom, I was nervous and was worried for my new rescued Yorkie Ben. Lindsey was so calm, caring, and helpful. She managed to put me and Ben at ease. We had an appointment and she took him in as scheduled, took her time grooming and taking care of him. When I picked Ben up from the shop, he was so HAPPY! He had fallen in love with Lindsey and her staff! Ben was very calm and he looked great! I'm so happy that I have a fabulous groomer right in my neighborhood! And she's a native Kings Park resident (just like me). There's also a pet shop in front, and the grooming area is in the back. Of course I had to buy three shirts, treats and a Piggy stick for my boy! Looking forward to our next visit and seeing "Aunt Lindsey" lol! read more

I previously left a 5 Star review because our first experience with Lindsay was simply a bath and brush out. Well the last time she went it wasn't lindsey who did the grooming and they made my labradoodle look so butchered and then overcharged me for it. Fast forward a few months later I called lindsey and asked her if she could do the grooming herself and told her how upset i was after the previous outcome. Well Lindsey completely shaved her like a rat. No phone call to me, no attempt to salvage any fur whatsoever. And then they had the nerve to charge me even more! I've attached a picture of my how my dog usually looks and a pic of how he looked today after we picked him up from this place. I take very good care of my dogs. He gets brushed weekly. Because of covid19 his hair had gotten long but I bathed him, kept him clean and brushed him. Before I took him in this morning I combed through to make sure he had no knots or mats. When I dropped him off the groomer checked him over and told me he was in great shape and felt good. After I picked him up I asked these people why they did this and they said his legs were matted and they had to shave him. I may have missed a knot or two but in no way would that have warranted this disaster! Also he is acting very strange, jumpy and skittish since he got back. My poor boy. He is traumatized about something. Also even if they did have to shave his body (and they didn't) his face is terrible. Why didn't they call me and say "lady your dog is matted and needs to be shaved"? (Because I would have picked him up and not let them groom him I'm sure). How does a person do this to someone's pet and then have the gall to charge $100?? I will never set foot in this place and warn anyone to steer clear. 11 days later I have to add more. I did not notice this right away but my golden retriever also got groomed the same day as my wheaten and we noticed her nail bleeding the other day. When I looked I saw that her toenails were cut so low they exposed her cuticle. Imagine how painful that has been for her this past week. I am just sick over it. These people should not be in business. I plan to look into their grooming license and see if I can report them. This is downright animal cruelty. read more

The most untrustworthily and lying owner I've encountered. Their incompetence caused our dog's coat to get so matted that it had to be shaved to repair the damage. Our poor dog suffered a great deal of pain. She first blamed Frontline for reacting to the shampoo and then she changed her story once I contacted my Vet and starts to blame me for not maintaining our dog. After consulting with our Vet, contacting other groomers and extensive research online it is apparent they don't know how to groom dogs with a under coat. I understand people make mistakes and accident happen, but own up to it and provide caring service. Stay away! read more

Should be no stars My mother while dog sitting brought my Malti poo for a wash. They gave the dog a full groom which consisted of basically a buzz cut. My dog has been who has expertly groomed and styled for 4 yrs now has a complete buzz cut. I have a very friendly yet timid dog. We rescued him quite a few years back but of course we don't know what happen before we got him. Took him here to be groomed and was told that my dog wasn't welcome back and that he wasn't friendly. Of course, I apologized, was nervous that maybe he hurt someone (I myself have never seen him get violent -- but hey, these are dogs so we never know) they ensured me that he never got violent but thought he may have the potential to. I have been coming here for years, and I can confidently say it is the only place I'll bring my dogs! It's very clear that Lindsey genuinely cares about the animals that come in. The staff, too, are always very friendly. My dogs are always ready to be picked up fairly quickly and they always look great. High quality service for a very reasonable price! My pup gets extremely nervous when at the vet or groomer, and had an accident (#2) on the floor at Lindsey's. I kindly asked the staff for a plastic bag to pickup after my dog, and as I walked towards the front counter, the Owner of the store said in what she thought was under her breath (but I heard loud and clear), "WHY DON'T YOU WALK YOUR FUCKING DOG?!" - I was astounded at how utterly rude, thoughtless and inconsiderate somebody could be, especially somebody who makes a living grooming and cleaning animals. How could she be so out of touch and insensitive??? It was appalling. Shame on them. read more

Very p o'd over last visit. I have 2 dogs (cock-a poos), and because I haven't been there in 12 weeks I was charged an extra $15 less a$5 coupon. Now their hair wasn't all that longer than normally 8 weeks. I've been taking them there for 18 months. How this place was opened during Covid I don't know. And who charges $155 for 2 dogs? I brought my dog for a cut as she was very matted but they cut the ears so short that I don't know if they will ever grown back. I was shocked when I saw her as there was no reason to cut her ears as they were not matted. It looks like an amateur cut her hair.and I don't know why cut her ears when they were not matted. I'm beside myself when I look at her as I feel horrible that I let then give her such a bad haircut.I will never bring her there again and those dogs with floppy ears should never be brought there. I wish I could post a picture showing just what a bad job they did. It looks like the place was busy and they let one of the kids cuts her hair.One ear is longer then the other and for this I paid good money.And to think I drove from the city only to get a very bad haircut. Walked in to the shop around 1:30, Lindsey told me to come back any time after 3 (and was extremely nasty about it) so I went back around 3:45. When I walked in she looked at us and proceeded to talk sh*t to the women that was dropping her dogs off saying "people just love yo make their own appt, I have dinner in 2 hours and refuse to do it today" clearly talking about us. We walked up and said hi you told us to come back after 3. She was very snippy and said "actually you had an appt at 3:30, so sorry can't do it today". Never once did she give an exact time, extremely unprofessional. I used to take my other dog there for a cut, it was never perfect and he would always have cuts around his ears, but it's been a couple years so we decided to give her a shot again. My husband and I have a 10 month old Great Dane. We recently moved to the Commack area and were recommended Lindsey's Groom Room by a neighbor. Lindsey was so nice on the phone and couldn't have taken better care of our dog. We loved that she even had a large pen in her space to accommodate large dogs like our Great Dane. When we picked him up, he was happy, smiling and his coat looked absolutely beautiful. She also gave him the cutest bandana! Lindsey and her wonderful staff are the only people that are able to trim and file my dogs nails in just minutes, and the only ones I trust. My husky can be very difficult to work with and they have it down to a tee with their comforting and encouraging words throughout. I've had people come to my house to attempt to trim nails and have given up. Even the vet techs at my vets office gave up on her. I've been brining my dog here for years. The prices were great at first. My dog is small, around 15 pounds, and the full service groom was about 50$. It's now 80$ for the same cut, and it's done by a few teenage girls. I'll schedule a morning appointment, and my dog will still be sitting there for two to three hours. I'm so disappointed the prices keep increasing. Rather than grandfather loyal customers into their original price, she keeps increasing them without notice.
