We could have totally thrown a rod in the motor and my car would have required a $6000+ motor replacement just not taking QC inspection on a simple F@cking oil change! They towed my car to the shop, offered a rental car, did a complete new oil change and had to buy me a new oil cap. QUALITY CONTROL, if you want my business. You almost costed me my car motor over a simple F@CKING OIL CHANGE!!! I am still , but at least they fixed it, but it shouldn't have been that stupid mistake in the first place!!!! Quality Control PEOPLE! I don't have money to replace a motor, that is why I was doing preventative maintenance. Went in for alignment with all new suspension and steering rack. They attempted and reported inner…read moretie rods on the new rack were too long. I cut 1/2 inch of each side. They left my wheel well plastic unfastened which I ran over and ripped off, plus got grease on the brand new carpet (and I let ALL of that slide) I returned for 2nd alignment adding mount and balance of my $5k wheels using their "touchless service". Upon second alignment, they discovered they were unscrewing the rack the whole time. It never needed cut but "they usually don't check that." During the mount and balance, after watching every tech oogling and handling my wheels, I asked Rick again the protocol of their touchless method in which he had to go out and inform the techs that they need to stop. (Quoted protocol was only 2 techs are approved to do it, they'll review the wheels with the customer for damage prior to working on them, the touchless machine won't damage them. And I pay more for the service.) They did not review them with me. They scratched the center bore and cooling fins, then Rick argued that it can't happen "it never gets touched, there's no way" "I'm telling you, nothing and nobody touched the wheel" that's why it's a touchless service" I asked to see the machine, in which I quickly identified what caused it... The conical mount, in which his tune changed to, "oh, well, that's the only spot." I understand something has to hold it, but they should communicate the hazard risks I also let that slide. Then upon attaching the aero discs, they cracked all 4 and chipped 1. And to top it off, the tie rods were on the wrong sides, so it impacted the wheel ripping off the balancing weights. (I didn't even hold that against them cause they didn't install them but some say, since they're the professionals, they should have caught it.) No one in the office communicates with each other Rick quoted the protocol, the guy next to him made the appointment, and neither informed the techs unboxing the wheels to what service. They're friendly, but they're far from professional and it cost me a 1/300 set of wheels. If you care like I do, find somewhere else.

I trusted them, stupid me. Not even a hour after leaving the shop my check engine light came back on. Went back in, was told my key will need to turn 100 times prior to it recognizing a new catalytic converter. Went back in a week later and was told my new catalytic converter is now bad again. And they are willing to replace it, but I will have to pay full price again as it's not under warranty due to me ordering it online. I have been in multiple times with no help. Now I am stuck paying yet again for another catalytic converter at another shop.

He was able to diagnose the problem, acquire the parts and install the new alternator by the next day and we picked it up the following morning. The price was extremely reasonable. He also helped us with getting a tow truck, directing us to an outstanding car rental and his bookkeeper was kind enough to drive us a fair distance to the agency! If we lived closer to Kalama, we would use this repair shop exclusively. They have certainly earned our trust and gratitude.

There, on the side of the road, we found coolant pouring out from the bottom of the radiator. Nearby we stopped at a truck stop/gas station to ask about a nearby repair shop before all the fluid was gone and we'd have to be towed. We were told about Kalama Auto Supply and Repair that was only a couple of miles away. We drove cautiously to the shop only to find them closed for the holiday. We decided to leave our vehicle at the shop, write them a note detailing our issues, leave the key in the drop slot and arrange for a ride share to pick us up to take us the rest of the way into Portland. There was a lot of uncertainty in this decision! However, the next morning (Tuesday), we received a call from the shop that put all of our fears at ease. We were told what the likely extent of the damages were, what the estimated cost of repairs would be, that the parts could be obtained and the repairs could likely be completed by end of business Thursday. This was fabulous news since our hotel reservations had us departing Portland on Thursday. True to their word, at about noon on Thursday, we were informed that the repairs were completed. This was very happy news for us! While the damage sustained was unfortunate, our experience with Kalama Auto Supply was the best!
