This is set up cafeteria style, where you walk in, grab what you want and pay at one of the registers. There are so many fresh-food options here for every diet type. I popped in because we were at the park right next door and one of my children was hungry. I ended up getting hummus and pretzel chips, but I looked around at all of the delicious-looking food and wanted to get something for myself (but didn't -- maybe next time!). The day I visited, I saw a burger station, a sandwich station, and a Japanese noodle station. Everyone was lined up at the noodle station ... it must have been good. There was also an antipasto bar, a fresh cookie area, hot coffee and tea (several different kinds) and a large selection of cold beverages (including kombucha). There are a lot of tables and bar seating, both inside and out. The whole area is very inviting and bright, with lots of windows and natural light streaming in. As a north point resident, I frequent Little Lingo and Lingo all the time for breakfast before work and after work for the occasional drink. Today I think I quite possibly received the worst service I have received at the bar at lingo. My friend and I were shocked by the sass and stupidity of the bartender tonight, clearly she hasn't made enough money tonight from the below industry standard salaries of the workers of EF. I hope the nice, tall, blonde lady is there next and hopefully I can improve on my review. I'm not one to write one but I've never experienced the kind of poor service I received from the short, black hair lady. Perhaps it's because of the fact I was only 1 of 2 black people there, not quite sure but I was denied alcohol and she proceeded to not ID the next 9 people who bought drinks including a group of EF interns that I know for a fact had 1 that wasn't 21. PS: The new chicken wrap sucks, the chicken avo was way better. The greatest hook up bar ever A friend of mine works for EF International. This office building is located across from the Science Museum on Cambridge st. In the lobby of the office building is without a doubt the coolest bar in the Boston Area. Really, it's a hidden gem. I went there yesterday to met my friend for a couple after work drinks. The decor is post modern but surprisingly cool. There are no servers just a bartender behind the bar who makes without a doubt the best margarita in the city. $7.50 for a handmade patron anejo margarita. It's a subsidized bar. He muddled the limes in the glass to make it from scratch. PBR is $2 a pint or $8 for a pitcher. He is also the funniest guy I've ever met. They have a bar menu that is very simple. Hamburgers, chicken wings, nachos etc. I had the nachos. For $6 I got the best nacho I've ever had. Huge amounts of guac, sour cream, and salsa over a large portion of nacho. We couldn't finnish them But the thing that sells the place is the clientele. The hottest women in the city go her. I was there for 2 1/2 hrs and saw about 30 girls and 2 guys. The average age is about 25. She said on Friday nights the place is packed with women getting cheap drinks before hitting the clubs. The girls were hot. I've never seen anything like it. Did I mention the girls were hot. My friend said to come on tuesday or wendsday if you want to meet someone. When I was first interviewing at EF and shown around the building, I was impressed by Lingo -- the food looked great, with made-to-order stations manned by chefs. But the flip side to the cafeteria was the bar. "You have a BAR here?" were the words that escaped my mouth. Oh yes, they have a bar. It serves a mountain of nachos dribbled with cheese, showered with jalapeno slices, smothered in chicken and flanked by double shot glasses full of salsa, sour cream and guac. This bad boy will set you back $8.50 and defeat three ravenous adults. Pitchers of Oktoberfest are cheap. No, I have not hooked up with anyone after-hours. Now that the novelty of the downstairs bar has worn off, the food remains excellent. For lunch today I had a pressed barbeque chicken wrap with fried onion straws, lettuce and tomato with a cherry coke for $6. Past favorites have included a killer crab cake sandwich with seasoned home fries, pizza with feta and black olives, and marinated steak tips. Wednesday is sushi day. Nothing kicks off the weekend like a little Friday night rage-caging in the lobby of an East Cambridge office building. Raise the roof! WOOP WOOP Staple these documents! WOOP WOOP Location aside, the spac... you know what? Location NOT aside. It's a bar that caters to a very specific group: employees in said building or residents of the Archstone village that never came to be. And based on the shoulder to shoulder post-5pm crowd, they're fine with that. As a destination though, be wary of short parking. The beer may be cheap (according to my drinking buddies) but well drinks run an average $7. I'd love to return for the fabled nachos, mounds of which passed by with an almost scheduled regularity, assaulting the nose with savory smells of salty fry and the eyes with drippy, melted goop. The space offers nothing. Open, empty, unadorned. Boulders near the main entrance give a "Honey I Shrunk The Kids and lost them in a Zen garden" feel. I joked to Ellen S, "It's like a cafeteria in here." Her reply: "It is a cafeteria." Oh right. Of note and to earlier reviews, women outnumber men 4 to 1. Happy hunting. read more

I am breaking down and writing a review for the bar in my building. Lingo certainly is a hookup bar, but anymore, all I see are men. Not many women seem to hangout at the bar, at least on Fridays. There is nothing special about Lingo. It is a cafeteria during the day, and an over priced one at that. The food is good, but not as good as the price would suggest. The drinks are severely overpriced, with wine and whiskey approaching eight to ten dollars. I went to Lingo last night (Wednesday), and the bar was empty. I ordered a glass of wine while I waited for my friend, and the bartender pours it from an already open bottle of wine. She didn't even fill my wine glass to the halfway mark, and she charged me eight dollars for an eighth of a cup of wine. I mentioned something, and she gave me more, but begrudgingly. It did not matter, however, because once I tasted the wine, I could tell that bottle had probably been open from the weekend. Poor performance. I go there to hang out with my friends, but I don't think it is someplace I would go if I didn't work in the building. read more

Being a single guy on the prowl I had read a review of ths place here and decided to check it out. I don't know how this place isn't listed as one of the wonders of the world, at least as far as bars go. Perhaps it's the limited food menu or bright faux modernism decor. That being said this place is without a doubt the best bar in all of Boston to meet hot young women. I showed up at about 6 o'clock with two of my friends last night. I almost had to drag them out. In their mind, after work drinks at 6 is way too early. The bar wasn't full but wasn't empty either. There were about 35-40 people milling around. 34 of them were girls. Hot girls. All of them worked in the office building upstairs. It was so easy to start talking to them. They were in little groups at tables or the bar but they were co-workers not really friends so you didn't get brushed aside because you didn't belong to their click. The drinks were cheap and large. $8 for a pitcher of PBR. We got 7 glasses from the pitcher. It's funny ,they serve the pitchers with plastic cups even though they have glassware. this place reminds me of the bar in the student union of my college except they only invite really hot girls. The music was well thought out (from the ipod of the bartender) and the service was excellent. I'll definetly being coming back again. P.s. The Lingo Bar and Grill is sort of a food court for the Hult Business School and EF crowd who work near by rather than and actual "bar and grill." The restaurant is buffet style, meaning you grab your tray and walk around the food area selecting what you'd prefer. They have salads and grill items, along with a few different entrees every day such as a carving station and soups. The food is not spectacular, but similar to what you might expect at a college dining hall. That's not an accident, however, as the clientelle seem to be mostly students and faculty members on their lunch break. They have a lovely outdoor dining area next to North Point Park which is a great place to retreat during the warmer months. Oddly, this is the only restaurant of any kind within nearly a mile in this part of Cambridge, so it will have to do for many I suspect. Otherwise, I'd give it a miss. read more

Been to lingo several times, and it is always fun to see where the EF peeps unwind after a long day. Like the people that work for EF this little cafeteria/bar is very cool ;) The busiest times for this place would be from 6-9 just as the EF people are getting off work. This is also a good spot to see if you can wrangle an invitation to EF's Christmas party which is suppose to be legendary...Good luck with that one though, it is suppose to be extremely hard to make your way into that mirthfest ;) read more

Lingos is our go-to bar after work because it's so easy to get to, and relatively cheap. If you're looking for a mellow environment to hang out with friends for a few drinks before heading home, this place is worth a look. They have a variety of beer, wine, and mixed drink selections, and the bartenders are always very friendly. The bar food is also pretty good, and they make a really good nacho platter, hummus plate, and chicken quesadilla. If you're in the area for lunch, the bar isn't open, but they have a decent sized cafeteria with a bunch of options. Grab whatever drink you want from the cooler, snag a sweet treat from the dessert table, and pick a lunch station to shop at. You just bring all of your items to the register when you're ready to pay and sit down for a quick bite. My favorite station is the flat bread pizza served with salad, but I've also enjoyed the made-to-order pastas and burrito stations when they are open. The selection changes daily, but there's always something to enjoy. read more

Alas, I shall finally review this place now that I no longer work at EF. Nothing against the company, mind you, but I was fearful of writing a mediocre rating for a place that I was so reliant upon to sustain me throughout the day with burnt Green Mountain coffee,discounted Vitamin Water, oily leftover soups and a really expensive salad bar. Nonetheless, the quality of food is decent enough to warrant a trip here once a week, if you work at EF or closeby. I'm rather fond of sushi on Wednesday -- hopefully they'll keep that up! Best part of Lingo is being able to take an afternoon java break and chill out in a lounge chair, reading a book or watching the news on their large TVs that hang over the bar. I've had the salad bar many times, the sandwiches and grill selections are made to order, and they always have a few entree specials that usually include a veggie option; today I had lettuce wraps with grilled veggies and they were amazing!! I think that Friday nights spent in this bar probably results in more sex between co-workers than any other bar in Boston. Why, you ask? It's in an OFFICE BUILDING. We went the other night to meet friends who work/have worked there, and the beers and drinks are super cheap and it's like drinking at the school cafeteria. I bought four or five beers in total, and it was $11. That's pretty awesome, I must say. That's pretty much where the coolness ends in my book, I think. It's kinda like drinking in junior high and you're conflicted as to which table to sit at. Cool kids table? Exchange students? Lingo is the restaurant housed in the office building of EF Education just across the way from the Mueum of Science. Frankly, I don't know why you would come out here if you didn't work at EF or live in the area, but the quality isn't bad for it's function. Lunch is their busiest time and has good food for the prices. Lingo serves most of it's food cafeteria style, there are no servers. There is a hot food station, cold food station, grill and salad bar. In the morning you can toast a bagel, get made to order eggs and fixings, or choose from a selection of pastries and fruit. In the evening's you can have a drink (alcohol is avaliable at the bar) or order from the modest bar menu. Thursday and Friday nights get busy from 5:30 to 8ish, especially in the summer when the patio is open. Most of the patrons are EF staff or students and their friends, although the bar and restaurant are open to the public. read more

I cracked up reading all the early reviews for this place. But they are true indeed. Yes, the number of women in this place will standout. Almost all of them work there, and the bar itself is housed in the building. Cafeteria by day, bar by the evening this place can be lots of fun if you know the people there. Outside seating is available and on a nice day enjoy some alcohol overlooking the Charles. With a standard bar and food that is pretty cheap it can make for nice night of drinking, For 5 bucks you can get giant sized colored nachos with cheese and guac and salsa and sour cream. and with beer make the perfect combinaton for the waist line unminded. And once you are crunk, you can always come out and bad mouth the Germans for the Berlin wall (there is a piece of the wall right outside the building, you know you have seen it during the Duck Tour) read more

My girlfriend and I stop here from time to time to grab a beer on our way home (we walk from Charlestown), and it's a great place. Beers are pretty cheap, especially their featured brewery (I paid $4 for a Cisco yesterday, seems like a good deal), the staff is nice, and there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. He asked where to return our trays and the man he asked dismissed him then told him to 'leave it there' pointing near where we were sitting. Then he brought a tray to us. I pretty much eat here everyday for lunch. I work across the street and the salad bar is always full of fresh crisp veggies. I have never been after 5 when the bars open but I did notice today that they have shipyard pumpkin beer on tap so it might be worth checking out. As far as eye candy yes there is a lot of it. I go to Lingo often for lunch. They have a great selection of lunch food and the quality is great. You can get a fantastic lunch for $6-$8 on average. It is cafeteria style. They always have a salad bar, soup, pizza, sandwiches made to order as well as a grill and two lunch specials. Not many people know about this place. Unless you live or work in the area you probably will never go here. If you are walking the Charles near the Museum of Science and you are hungry - give it a chance! Lingo presents a great opportunity to meet women; it's where I thought I met my true love (we can call her V). Upon entering Lingo, my attention shifted to the beautifully appointed lounge-style seating, where I first noticed V searching for spare change in the cushions. Lingo has a full bar, including Whisky, Apple Pucker, and Tequila shots, all of which removed the inhibitions of my extremely curly-haired love slave and made possible that fateful night. V told many great stories about her best friend Kirby before taking my phone and deleting all the girl names from my phonebook and saving her mobile number, her home number, her EF office number, and her email and home addresses. The food at Lingo must be great because the 25 year-old, newly-promoted EF manager says she eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner at Lingo. The freckle-faced Medusa broke my heart, leaving me with a pit in my soul and a nasty case of Hepatitis. Future EF patrons must beware. read more

Great buffet for lunch! Most would call it the salad bar but I felt like it had so much diversity that it deserves to be thought of as a buffet. It had lentils, chicken, shreded beet like stuff, tuna, chicpeas, etc, and to really make it good, you can drench it with the olive oil and salt it right there. read more
