I beg anyone even thinking about using Linhard's Towing to TURN AROUND and go literally anywhere else. Linhard's is, without a doubt, the most unprofessional, disorganized, and money-hungry business I have ever dealt with. I got into a minor accident in Cockeysville a month or two ago. The cop on scene called a tow truck for me -- and unfortunately, that tow truck was from Linhard's. I should've insisted on calling my own, because the second they took my car, I had NO idea the absolute f***ing nightmare I was walking into. Once my car was dropped off at their yard, I called to ask what was needed to release it to my insurance. The woman I spoke to told me all they needed was my license and my registration or title. Cool. I had that -- or so I thought. I go down there in person and say I'm there for my car, and I'm immediately met with blank stares like I've got five heads. I give them my license and explain that my title is in the car. When I ask if I can go grab it, they tell me I'm not allowed, IN MY OWN CAR, without either the registration or title and permission from my insurance company. I'm sorry, WHAT?! That was never mentioned on the phone. Not once. So while they sent someone else to dig through my car to find the title, I had to get my insurance on the phone to give them verbal permission -- for me to access MY OWN PROPERTY. That finally gets handled, but guess what? Since I live in PA and my car is financed, I never got a title. (PA doesn't send titles when there's a lien.) The woman at the front desk even says, "Yeah I live in PA too, I don't have mine either." So I ask, "What else can I do? My insurance has already verified that this car is mine." Her response? "You'll have to come back with a registration." Are you f***ing serious? After spending the whole weekend running around and trying to get answers, I manage to get a copy of my title. I come back Monday with my license, the title, and my insurance rep on the phone. The woman at the desk looks me dead in the face and says, "I don't think I can accept this -- this doesn't look like a real title." EXCUSE ME? It's the official title for MY car -- the same one you've refused to let me near, even with insurance confirmation. What more do you need?! After more back and forth, she finally accepts it, and I'm allowed into my own vehicle -- but not without someone standing there watching me the entire time like I'm going to steal my own sh*t. The man "supervising" tells me they've had people try to lie about which car is theirs. Okay, I get that -- in a repo situation. But this wasn't a repo. My insurance confirmed my identity and vehicle ownership MULTIPLE times. This was just flat-out harassment and control. And let's not forget the cherry on top: Linhard's charges $60 A DAY in storage fees. SIXTY. That is beyond outrageous. Most tow yards are around $20/day. This company clearly preys on people in vulnerable situations and makes it as hard and expensive as possible to retrieve your own da*n car. It's disgusting. Linhard's is an absolute scam operation. They don't care about helping you -- they just want to drain your wallet and waste your time. Fu*k Linhard's Towing, and fu*k the rude, dismissive front desk staff who clearly get off on making people's lives harder. Do not use this company. Ever. RUN. read more

So I have bad luck with tires. I'm forever running over stuff. Never a convenient time for a flat. Linhard's to the rescue the other day. I was on my way to pick up my son at Towson. Done with Junior year. We had a full day of adventure planned. Hiking birding etc. Coming off 695 my jeep felt weird. Began to wobble violently. I thought, maybe a road irregularity. Nope. A flat rear tire. What do I do now? No spare. No Triple A. Called a local service station who referred me to Linhard's. Thirty minutes the nice lady said. It was twenty nine. A terrific guy showed up and did a patch job right then and there. And I was back in business! Very grateful for the speedy, competent and friendly service. I never thought I'd be writing a 5-star review about a towing company (because who ever wants to call a towing company), but Linhard's service was exceptional. They answered the phone immediately, sent a tow right away, and the driver was a great help to us - professional and didn't up-charge in a situation when he could have. My only complaint is they sent someone SO quickly that I didn't have enough time to finish all of the food that I had bought to eat my feelings! Linhard's was recommended to me through another local shop who, due to scheduling, was unable to look at my car. I had an issue with my temperature gage and needed it fixed quickly. Linhard's made the process simple and easy. I left my car at their lot after hours and left my key in the drop box. Early the next morning, they called me with a quote and the explanation of everything they needed to do to fix it! They were quick to find the problem, but it did take a bit longer than originally told in the quote to get the job done. (That can sometimes happen when parts are hard to find, so I do not blame them for the additional day in the shop.) They helped me arrange to pick up my car after hours when it was finished and even called a few days later to make sure my car was still running okay. Although I never met the mechanics face to face, I appreciate all they did to get my car working ASAP. read more

Richard from Linhard's did a first-class job in getting my car to Anderson Honda! My 2017 Accord had the wheels stolen from it early Wednesday morning. He arrived at my residence to put my newly purchased wheels on my car, then towed it to the dealer so I could have it inspected. No one could have done a more caring a meticulous job. We called for a tow when our car broke down on I-83. As it was a weekend and we are from out of state it would have been easy to take advantage of us, but that's not what these folks are like! Our car was towed promptly by a pleasant and professional individual for a reasonable price. On Monday morning we told the manager we had decided not to have the car diagnosed and repaired, but to donate it to a public radio station. Since they are also public radio supporters they waived several days of storage charges. Linhard's treated us very well, and we recommend them highly. read more

Over the last 6 years, I've developed a very strong aversion to mechanics after having horrific experiences with both Jiffy Lube and a Honda Dealership. Two separate and unrelated instances that cost me thousands of dollars. For a while, I'd been putting off having my car looked at, despite the fact that I knew that *something* was wrong. Driving my little Civic was starting to be rather scary. My husband, through his work, met the owner of Linhard's, and put me in touch with him to set up an appointment to have my car looked at. After a through examination, the problem was diagnosed and a solution proposed. The cost was a fraction of what I expected, and the work was done quickly, efficiently and well. It was such a treat to drive off the lot with my car once more feeling like she used to and knowing that a good job had been done, and that I hadn't been taken advantage of. I was involved in a head-on collision and my wrecked vehicle was towed to Linhard's. The other driver was deemed liable, so after a couple of days coordinating with their insurance company (Geico), I was told to go pick up my personal belongings and tags so that Geico may have the wreck moved off to the salvage yard. Upon arrival, Linhard's stubbornly refused to allow me to remove my tags. They gave no good reason, other than a loose statement that only the insurance company could legally take them off now that the vehicle was going to be theirs. I took their word since I assumed they knew what they were talking about. A couple of days later, I contacted the insurance company to find out the status of my tags. They were scratching their heads as to why Linhard's would not release them to my wife & I directly (still the legal owners of said vehicle). To top it all of, my car was now gone and en-route to an auto salvage auction almost 30 miles away. Thanks to the Geico adjuster, he was able to make some calls and save my tags from being lost for good. I don't even want to know what the fine would be for not turning in my tags in the state of Maryland. Not to mention, I wouldn't have been able to cancel my insurance for the vehicle without incurring a separate $150 fine, plus more after 30 days. I tried calling Linhard's again today to inform them of the potential issue they almost caused, yet they didn't acknowledge any error in their policy whatsoever. They didn't even have remorse over the fact that their policy nearly resulted in the permanent loss of my tags. They just continued to refer to my car as Geico's car. Meanwhile, the title still has my name on it. I don't know what their major malfunction is, but I don't recommend Linhard's unless you just want to get pissed off over the mishandling of your affairs. If you're in an accident, save yourself the trouble and ask the police to call anyone but Linhard's. Speaking as someone who was a customer of theirs for many years, I was highly disappointed in how they handled me. read more

Stuck on I-83 with a flat tire. Called Linharts after several failed attempts to change it out myself. The receptionist was very nice and the tow truck driver was also great- quickly and politely solved the problem. The price was very reasonable too. I have an old van that I am trying to nurse along for another year or so. Linhards was honest in their diagnosis and truthful about the condition of my car and what did and did NOT need to be done. My car was towed by Linhards today .... Which should not have been towed out of my own neighborhood..... With that being said they towed it less than one mike away and charged me $234.00... The people that work there are heartless human beings that like to make a quick buck.. I was questioning the fees and the owner Kathy Linhards told me that my husband and I were pathetic... How dare an owner speak to a paying customer this way... They charged me a 25.00 fee for no key... Now obviously the car was towed without my knowledge as my hoa thought it was an abandoned vehicle even though it was in front of my house being worked on to get inspection ready for my daughter to have her first car.. So I'm real sorry I didn't leave a key for them... Regardless I wouldn't send my worst enemy to this place, they are money hungry human brings And the fact that the owner would speak to a customer that way is just unbelievable to me.... I wish 0 stars were an option. I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with this company to have my car released to my insurance company for repair after an accident. They had TERRIBLE customer service and required unnecessary documentation which resulted in the delay of my vehicle's repair and a great inconvenience. They wouldn't accept verbal authorization to release the car, or faxed/e-mailed documentation to have the car released, a ploy to make it more difficult to get your car off their lot so they can charge more fees. The office personnel was very hard to work with and had NO INTEREST IN MAKING THE PROCESS ANY EASIER. I don't have much experience working with tow yards (however my insurance agent mentioned verbal authorization is the norm) but I can definitely say this company does not have your best interest in mind. Obviously no one is happy to work with them and would rather have a working car but if you are in need of a tow I would not recommend this company if you have an option. read more
