We are lucky to have found Padonia Auto Service as we had been getting overcharged at the Honda dealership for 20+ years. It's such a relief to be able to drop off our cars and know that the charge will be fair and the work reliable. I have been a loyal customer for 20 years, first finding it based on a recommendation of a mechanic who told me how honest Padonia Auto is. And it's true. Kevin and his crew have replaced everything on my cars from water pumps to transmissions and I am always struck by how quick and affordable the prices are. Sometimes I think I present Kevin with a problem I think I know about a car--like once when the tow truck driver told me the engine was shot and Kevin just replaced the spark plugs and it worked great. Or when we thought we needed a new hybrid battery for our Prius and Kevin said no, it's just that the brake has gotten stuck in the on position. Padonia Auto did exactly what we needed when we needed it and the cost was quite reasonable. I was looking at used cars for my son and they looked at the car for us right away with zero notice. The car needed new rear rotors and pads and they completed the job again with zero notice. For all the negative reviews on here there are probably so many more positive ones that people never bother to write! In response to the negatives, I like the fact that the lot is crowded - it tells me it's a good place to do business. As far as staff being rude, not true - short and to the point yes, chatty no, but it's not a coffee shop. I am very pleased with Padonia Auto and would recommend it fully. read more

I took my car here for a state inspection with no problems going in. After the inspection they went over what needed replaced which was fine but after backing out of the garage station I get in to a brake light on and no brakes. Went back to see if maybe they forgot to bleed the brakes not knowing what they do at inspection. He says my brake lines blew out. I didn't even get out of the parking lot. Sorry but I find this to be impossible. read more

I am thinking everything is ok after getting my truck serviced that I invest a few thousand to revamp braking system. Two weeks later my head gasket blew. Could have been avoided if they were honest. If you are looking for an auto repair shop that guarantees their work and deals on the level with customers- DO NOT go to Padonia Auto Service in Cockeysville. I have been taking my cars to this shop for years, but recently something has changed. (the owners I think) One of my cars has been to this shop for the same problem for 3 times in 5 years. While they do guarantee their work for one year, the problem always re-occurs after the warranty period. Even after being given special instructions from the GM website on how to do this repair (for time #2) they needed a specific part- they still couldn't make the repair permanent. So by the 3rd time I honestly expected them to do this repair for free or cost only. I even suggested they just replace the little plastic bushing that popped off which would be a quick in and out fix. First Joe told me they couldn't buy just the bushing (though Napa- which is who they deal with sells that part and for a song) so then after I bulked at that he said the whole piece was damaged and he had to replace the whole part. They replaced it before I even gave them the go ahead- I was going to take the car elsewhere at this point for another opinion. While I was given a slight discount- they forgot to do the oil change I requested! They had it on the order form and crossed it out. Never going back obviously! read more

Wish my son read some of these reviews before he took his car to Padonia's. Brought it in for inspection and MD plates as he just recently moved to Towson from out of state, They pulled his car in, put it on a lift and took off a wheel. Said he needed wheel spacers as he has aftermarket wheels on. These are speced the same as OEM Toyota 16 inch rims that come on a Corolla. Then they bring it down and say we can't give you plates because you have window tint. Couldn't have said that before they put it on the lift? Taken for an $80 ride. Don't send your son or daughter to this place, or anyone for that matter. That's just down right wrong. read more

I had a problem with my car that they said I had to take to the Honda dealership because it was too extensive of a fix and they didnt charge me anything. They did their own research and found that if i took it to Honda it would be cheaper because it fell under a recall warranty. Was ready to drop a bunch of money, after an hour of waiting to hear what I imagined would be an exorbitant figure they told me there was nothing wrong with my brakes. The first time I went there they gave me a quote that was way cheaper than firestone's quote! In addition to this they were honest in telling me that I did not need all the work that firestone recommended. They also drove me home while my car was being maintenanced. :) The staff is caring and the last time I went there they informed me of somewhere I could go to get the pipe I needed for even cheaper. There is a reason why I gave this place two stars and there is a reason why I am doing this review months later. First, I will explain the good about this company. The customer service is great and I love the fact that they will breakdown what needs to be done immediately and what can wait. Now i will get into the bad. I took my car to them because my old car was making a squealing noise when I would start it up and my tires were going bad. The guy who worked on my car said he did not know why the car was making a squealing noise and then gave me a list of things that needed to be fixed including getting a new tire rod and a new power steering system because the hose was leaking ;those two things would have cost almost 900 dollars. I am a regular person and I cannot afford to drop that much money on an aging car. Since the service was so good I promised them I would come back and get the work done . Fast forward to 3 months later I decided to go to my regular mechanic that lives near my parents house (a hour away from me) because I felt my power steering was off and I remembered the recommendations that Padonia Auto Service gave me. I have been going to that guy for about 10 years and he does nothing less of a honest job. He took a look at my car and told me nothing was wrong with my tire rod and that all he had to do was put stopleak to stop the leak from my power steering hose not REPLACE the whole thing which is what Padonia Auto Service wanted me to do for $600+ . So the moral of the story is that you should always be weary of mechanics who are quick to replace and not fix.. do not be afraid to walk away or write down any recommendations and research it on Google or take it to someone trustworthy. I am not trying to call them liars but if you are not a liar are you incompetent? I will never know... read more
