Lin's Asian Cuisine has been a consistent mid sushi place for me. Their roll specials are about the quality you'd expect for the price. Nothing special, but it's never been bad for me. Although I have enjoyed their food for years, today I didn't even receive my order. Upon calling, the restaurant stated the delivery driver handed it to someone. I have a camera on my door, no one even came to my hallway. I told them this and the manager (who did not come to the phone herself) refused to make it right, insisting I call uber even though the driver was an in house employee. On the positive side, the cashier who actually spoke with me was kind and apologetic, but he ultimately had no decision making authority so the issue was not resolved. I didn't even want a refund I just wanted my food. The bare minimum for customer service is that your customer receives what they paid for or you refund them and apologize. Guess I'm on the hunt for a new local sushi spot. read more

Lin's might be my new local go-to for pan-Asian cuisine in North Bronx! My takeout order was ready for pick up within minutes, the staff was friendly, and everything was packaged perfectly. The inside was clean and spacious when I stepped in with a nice, casual atmosphere when I stepped in. As for the food, everything tasted fresh, delicious, and perfectly satisfying! I had the chicken fried rice, the spicy crunch salmon roll, the pepper tuna avocado roll, and the shrimp tempura roll. All of the rolls tasted great-- the best one being the pepper tuna for me-- and the preparation and quality really allowed the flavors to shine. However, my favorite item turned out to be the chicken fried rice. The chicken tasted just a bit caramelized for a savory, umami-rich dish that was not at all greasy. I ordered sushi and got the White Tuna Jalapeno Roll, Spicy Crunch Kani Roll, Fried Oyster roll, Fried Banana Tempura, Miso Soup. I wanted to order one of the most expensive items--mind you it's takeout only--and they refused to give me a regular tuna roll instead of some spicy tuna roll. This was the "included" roll in a $30 sushi/sashimi combo. They wouldn't budge on a $2 surcharge for not adding spicy mayo! I have dietary restrictions and don't eat mayo. I've ordered a few times and each time the food isn't necessarily bad, but I expect better quality when ordering sushi. You're spending $10-15 on a roll, an order can get expensive QUICK so it needs to be excellent. The nori they use at Lin's is thick and chewy. They also use too much, almost double wrapping the rolls with seaweed making it a chore to chew. read more

The only place in the Bronx I order sushi from. I love the fact that they offer delivery through their own website which saves on Doordash/Seamless fees. They usually reach out to me if there are any issues with my order and are quick to resolve. The delivery is usually on time give or take 10 minutes and they bring it up to my apartment which is rare in the Bx (on my block at least). Tried this place for the first time in a Friday night, around 10ish. There really aren't a lot of good Japanese places in the Bronx, and this one was on the way. This place was empty, not a good sign. We ordered 3 rolls (2 eel and 1 shrimp) as a part of a special which also comes with miso soup for $15, and a dragon roll which was around $10 give or take a couple of dollars. We also got a Kani salad. The Kani salad was ok, I do think they should shred the lettuce so it's easier to eat with the Kani, instead they have ripped leaves which are big and chunky. The rolls were not so great, the eel didn't taste fresh, and the rolls were smaller than I thought. In the shrimp roll I could barely taste the shrimp, and the tempura batter they use is different from the batter I'm accustomed to having. It's the one that looks crumbly and textured, almost like panko but finer. Also, they don't have kikoman Japanese soy sauce for the tempuras they have Chinese soy sauce, very different taste. Despite having no one else to wait on, our waitress was no where to be found and she forgot our soup, so we had to ask for it and suddenly the waitress reappeared apologized and attentively watched our table until we were done. The whole meal was about $40 with tip. But the experience wasn't pleasant, we sat in an empty dark room watching adult swim on TV eating take out tempuras. Most of their business is take out and I can see why, they have good prices and fair quality food. I do hope that this place can up it's game, until then I'll be enjoying Japanese food in the city. I ordered from Lin's a couple of times and the sushi rolls had hair in them. The first time it was a small hair in one roll and the second time there were long hairs in multiple rolls... I didn't even eat the food and I spent over $100. I called them on both occasions and they were extremely rude both times- wouldn't even offer a refund or any (ANY) type of compensation. I just placed and order online and received a phone call from someone who's sounded like a 15 year old with a nasty attitude. She didn't introduce herself or tell me where she was calling from until After I asked. I didn't notice I placed the order for a lunch bento box instead of dinner. There's a difference of $7 for the price which I don't have a problem with but after noticing how rude and nasty she was I just asked for the order to be cancelled. She initiated the call with the lunch bento box ended 4 hours ago. Then after the call ended the child began prank calling me! And even put in my information into this site. My eel cucumber was the only underrated item. The crispy duck, salmon avocado crunchy roll, and salmon crabmeat dumpling were all great. Just a warning, the salmon crabmeat dumpling is a dumpling make of sashimi salmon with real crab meat inside, and topped with caviar. If you do not enjoy sashimi/raw fish, don't order this item. I ordered 3 rolls and shrimp lo mein as a takeout. Each of the rolls tasted fresh and satisfying. They didn't skimp on the Wasabi paste or soy sauce like other places. It also came with a savory cup of miso soup that was flavorful and not overly salty; the perfect complement to the rolls. The lo mein was much more flavorful than the same dish from other places in the neighborhood, and there was a generous amount of shrimp. It was just a tad more greasy than I like it, however.
