This is my husband's favorite Chinese food in York. He always gets the vegetable fried rice, vegetable lo mein, crab Rangoon, chicken with Chinese vegetables. Everything is very fresh, not too oily, not overly sweet except for crab Rangoon sauce. That sauce is terrible! I love mixing soy sauce, hot yellow mustard and duck sauce together to dip the crab Rangoon. They make the best crab Rangoon! Today's chicken and Chinese vegetables was well seasoned with garlic, loved it!!!!! We order in line then go pick up. It's very easy and food is ready and hot! on Thursday evening, March 27 I ordered dinner for me and my two roommates from yummy yummy. I'm the only one that had shrimp aMd the only one who got sick.My entrée was shrimp with snow pea pods which I ate all of. I got very very sick after it. Now that I'm recovered, I decided to call them to let them know so they could replace the shrimp and not poison anybody else. The woman who answered the phone refused to tell me whether she was the manager or the owner, and just kept repeating that they didn't have pea pods. I assured her that I didn't want anything from them. I simply wanted them to not make other people sick. She just kept repeating that they did not have pea pods, which I had just eaten. Our first time trying Yummy Yummy was mixed. Starting with the best, the shrimp in lobster sauce was excellent. The sauce was delicate and spiced just right. It had some peas and carrots and egg white, which I was happy about since I don't care for the yolk. There were five or six shrimp which were done just right- not over cooked or tough. There was a very miniscule amount of diced meat in the sauce. This was delicious and came with white rice. We ordered Pad Thai with chicken, medium spice. My husband liked the spice level but other than one or two pieces of scallion, there was nothing but noodles and chicken. We are used to more vegetable pieces in this dish. The hot spice was the only flavor I could taste and my husband said it was "OK". We ordered to boneless ribs as an appetizer. Terrific sauce on it and the pork was thinly sliced. It was flavorful but fatty. We ordered pork fried rice. It was chock full of diced pork but it was a funny orange color. Didn't look like any fried rice we've seen before. Maybe some spice which was colored with annato or something. It was OK but other than the good tasting roast pork and diced onions, it didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The large size fried rice was $11.00. I thought that was a little steep, especially since the take-out menu said $10. 00. When I made the order I figured out how much the cost would be, but, when I picked up the order it was about $5.00 more than I'd figured. I had stopped by and got a menu on Dec 23. We ordered and picked up food on Dec 26. When I asked about the difference, the gal handed me a folded menu. A stack of unfolded ones, which I'd picked up 3 days prior, still sat on the counter with old prices. That was strange. I despise food that is too spicy. I ordered the Orange Chicken through Door Dash. There was no description, but I thought it would be similar to lemon chicken. Definitely NOT!! It was so ridiculously spicy, it burned my mouth the second it hit it, and I couldn't get the fire out for several minutes. Even my lips burned. I had to dump the entire meal, because it even made the rice inedible. That was LOT of money for us, to just throw away. My husband's meal was ok, but nothing to write home about. When we called the restaurant to tell them, she told us, that unfortunately, it IS similar to General Cia chicken. Will NEVER return to Yummy Yummy, and please make sure you know what you're ordering which will probably require a call to the restaurant. I try every so many years to eat here. Ordered Tofu Tso and Green Curry. The tofu has been frozen and I don't like the texture and they don't give hardly any broccoli. Green Curry taste nothing like Green Curry. This place is more like yucky yucky. read more

A little "hole in the wall" takeout place (no delivery, sadly) with some nice food. They're a Chinese/Thai place rather than just Chinese takeout. I love me some Thai, so I'm looking forward to trying that. Firstly, the people there are really nice. All smiles, very helpful, and even played along with me joking with my little girl. Now, on to the food. It was just my daughter and I so we only got some wonton soup and fries for her and some Szechwan chicken for me. The soup was gone in no time. The wontons themselves we're nice, but it was the broth that made it. My daughter is all about broth and she was driking the last drops from the bowl. The fries, of all things, we're outstanding; the best thing we ordered. The Szechwan chicken was good. Not as spicy as I'm used to, but it had a nice smoky flavor I wasn't expecting and enjoyed a lot. The vegetables we're beautifully cooked; tender, but nice and crisp. All-in-all, we we're really happy with our order. The fact they don't deliver is disappointing, but a drive is worth it when the food is good. Yummy Yummy is a simple, unassuming Chinese takeout place. It's just a corner store at one end of a row of stores. They do mostly takeout. If you choose to eat in, you'll be roughing it a bit. They have only two tables in the unheated, unair-conditioned dining area. However, they do have complimentary hot water and tea bags. One big surprise about this place is they have some Thai food selections. I wouldn't say it's the best Thai food but it is good enough for the price. We had the red curry and Thai stir fry on this visit. One letdown is they use yellow fried rice, which isn't as good. Overall though, in an area that is not known for Chinese food, Yummy Yummy is a good find. read more

Don't eat here during the Covid 19 virus crisis! Noone is cleaning anything, or bringing your food out to the car. You have to go in, and someone is on the phone while they are at the same time giving you the receipt for your credit card order. Giving you the same pen everyone else has handled to sign the receipt. There is no hand sanitizer, noone wiping down anything. Everyone has to go inside and stand next to each other, like there is no health crisis going on. I went home and wiped everything down. Need something fast on a Friday or Saturday? Call in your order and they will have it ready within 10 minutes! (You do have to pick it up, but if you're in York, that's no biggie.) Sometimes they have a 10% off card in their card holder on the counter. If you point to it, the cashier (a very nice and very busy lady) will gladly give you a discount. Like the previous review mentioned, their kitchen is totally open - a comfort to some I'm sure. My favorite is their Pad Thai (mm peanuty!) My kids like their sesame chicken. The ol' "what do you want to eat for dinner" conversation started as we drove down memory lane. My wife wanted some asian food, so we stopped at Yummy Yummy. I ordered in minutes as did she since we were hungry and the food was served lightning fast. The food came in about the time it took us to order. I got the Green curry shrimp and my wife ordered chicken pad thai. I liked the slightly thicker coconut milk base and the shrimp were very large. I tried her pad thai which I liked too. The food was good. We've has a few take-out places in York and this is the first we would order from again. We kept it simple to try it out and had general tso's and shrimp pad thai. Neither were spicy but both were very good. I agree with other reviews I've seen - definitely a take-out only kind of place. There are indeed tables but the fluorescent lighting is very bright and the front of the restaurant is tiny. The customer service wasn't bad but it wasn't anything special either; the person taking the order didn't give a total or time frame, just said "ok, bye" and hung up. Best darn Hot-and-Sour Soup I've ever had. And I mean EVER had! Nice big chunks of tofu, fresh cut veggies, just the right amount of spice without being overpowering... and I'm not sure if they use MSG or not, but the soup is soooo good that it always makes me want even more when I'm done! I'll usually get a large order just for myself, and then force myself to stretch it over a couple days just so I can have the taste every day, and it reheats very well. The other great thing to get is the Crab Rangoons. 1 order = 10 pieces, and they aren't your typical "fresh from the freezer bag" rangoons you get from other Chinese restaurants. These taste very good and don't have that feel of being in the back of the freezer for 3 months before being fried. I've also had their Curry Beef, nice and spicy the way I like it, and not too much hot to take away from the flavor. Also the Lo Mein and Mei Fun is what one should expect from a Chinese restaurant. I honestly believe some of the food is either freshly prepared or that their supplier of food and ingredients are different from your typical Chinese restaurant. Much better than any other cookie-cutter Chinese restaurant you'll find anywhere else. Sure, it's a hole-in-the wall kind of place, but I do appreciate that you can easily see the kitchen from the front of the store. Very clean, very fast, and very delicious! It's the only Chinese place that I'll go if I'm in East York. I live in York Haven, and I've even gone out of my way just to go to Yummy Yummy for Chinese food. The place looks like any hole in the wall chinese take out place. They have a few small tables with folding metal chairs. The lady at the register was really nice and to top it off, their kitchen is open. Not like some shady chinese food places that hide what's back there. Now I know I probably should have ordered chinese food, but what can I say, drunken noodles is my kryptonite. I saw that on the thai menu and had to have it. I waited maybe 5-8mins and my food came out. The noodles they made were tasty, but they weren't drunken noodles. It had way more lemon grass and ginger, it was saucier too. I couldn't taste any fish sauce and they had no egg :( booooo. But, like I said, it was still tasty. So I would bet that their chinese food is probably good. read more

Best place for Chinese carry out food in York PA. Fresh ingredients, good service and excellent value! Drunken noodle and Stir fry dishes are on the mark. Love the egg rolls. It would be nice if they delivered, but the food is def worth the trip down Market st. the pad thai is my favorite - I get it spicy with chicken - and their chicken and broccoli my girls absolutely love.
