Dr. Michael Kowalski, AP changed my life!…read more Approximately two years ago I contacted Dr. Kowalski about having him use acupuncture as means of dealing with my seasonal allergies. I had had some success with acupuncture in the past, but the effects would diminish overtime. When I went to see Dr. Kowalski, he suggested rather than acupuncture that I have a blood test to determine if I had any food allergies. Although I had been to a couple of allergists in the past, I didn't recall either of them recommending/suggesting a blood test; so I said, "why not" what did I have to lose. Much of the year I dreaded going outside due to ragweed, oak pollen, juniper, etc. When the test results came back, Dr. Kowalski suggested that my allergy problem was probably due to certain foods, rather than the outdoor menaces mentioned earlier and suggested I revise my diet accordingly. Six months later my allergy symptoms had dissipated dramatically; one year later I no longer suffered from seasonal allergies and could go outside without fear, whenever I wanted. Two years later, this remains the case. Wow! I can't thank Dr. Kowalski enough for his knowledgeable insight into my condition, and being able to get to the root of my issue quickly and effectively. Not knowing what to expect, I ended up pleasantly surprised! I started with a physical therapist who was very nice and knowledgeable but 'just not for me.' I then had the opportunity to switch to a different therapist when I needed to change one of my therapy appointments. From that day forward, I remained with that therapist! Our personalities were very similar. He gave me my exercises, pushed me just enough to finish the amount he had decided upon. Then, I pushed myself even farther! We made a good team for my rehabilitation! He, as well as the other three therapists I worked with while recovering were all extremely punctual, knowledgeable, organized, and very mindful of the patient's tolerance level! The facility was always clean, neat, and organized. Each table, tool, and machine were cleaned & sanitized after each use, as well! I made an appointment for an initial consultation with him and went to that yesterday. He's a really nice guy and has long history of successful surgical experience. But unfortunately my insurance Florida Blue doesn't cover any sort of weight loss and I don't have the money to pay out of pocket, so my bariatric weight loss dreams ended there until I get a better insurance plan. Dr. Sharma was very kind and handled explaining things to me about insurance and giving me out of pocket estimate. If I ever do get better insurance that covers a bariatric sleeve I'll be using Dr. Sharma for it.

My weight had plummeted drastically to the point where I was skin and bones. My gastroenterologist kept telling me to take Pepsid but did nothing to address the root issue, which was a hiatal hernia. After several endoscopy sessions confirming the presence of a hernia he chose to just monitor the situation. I only wish I had found Dr. Sharma sooner. He took the time to listen to my symptoms, order the right tests and personally did my endoscopy. He discovered my hernia was much larger than my gastro initially relayed and I was scheduled for surgery soon after. His skill as a robotic surgeon is unparalleled.
