We stopped in for a glass of wine because there were 2 gorgeous dogs outside. Michael is very nice and let us taste 2 different types of wine. We liked the 2012 Chardonnay from Anderson Valley

This was our second stop on our wine tasting Saturday. I saw another review which makes more sense- but we asked to share 2 tastings between 3 people. After this, our waiter barely gave us the time of day. The table next to us got waters, a spit bucket, and full service. We weren't given that at all. At the end of our tasting, we were not asking if we wanted to revisit or even wanted to buy any wine either. Shame that sharing a tasting was so looked down upon. It was so unwelcoming and I won't be back.

I hesitantly recommend this spot- it's got cool decor, a prime location and the wines are tasty. Unfortunately despite the reservation they sat us in the back at the tables closest to the restrooms which ultimately tainted our otherwise good experience. I suggest eliminating these tables because people kept interrupting our experience for their bio breaks- which is expected so why have this table an option? It also smelled heavily of bleach (which I suppose is better than the alternative considering our proximity to the toilets) but ruined the wine tasting nonetheless. Side note- the server gave me a little grief that I don't prefer white wine and wanted to mix up my tasting to only include reds. As a bartender myself here's a friendly tip to improve your tips- if allowable by the owners, give the customer what they want without guilting them for their preferences. The wine was good so I'd return - but only if I score an outdoor seat.

First stop in Healdsburg , we got out the uber and went straight in. The moment we walked we were greeted with smiles and taken to a table. One of the owners took great care of us as we sip and was educated on the vineyards . We loved the atmosphere the music was old school and sooo on point for group like us who just wanted to sip, laugh and chill. I would suggest adding little breadsticks to the table and bar !!!

We chose to drop in Marine Layer Wines. The tasting room is located in a very nice area in beautiful downtown Healdsburg across Healdsburg square. Parking is accessible all around the street and Healdsburg square. The modern decor was beautiful and bright. There were plenty of tables and couches to accommodate all different size parties. The vibe was inviting and family friendly. There was a cozy fireplace in the front as well. We ordered a glass of Lyra Pinot Noir and a glass of Aries Chardonnay. My Pinot Noir was smooth while the wifey's Chardonnay was crisp and refreshing. The wine was great quality. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Marine Layer Wines. The staff was nice and helpful. If you are in Healdsburg this is my number one recommendation for wine tasting. They expertly pair the wine with dishes they make fresh on site. Our server Akayla was super patient and fun, she explained the history of the winery and told fun stories about the owners. The place was clean and organized. They knew exactly what they were doing and I am so impressed with the hospitality! The quantity of food you get with the food + pairings option is not enough for a meal, but perfect for a snack. We were told the lunch dishes are the same but bigger portions. My favorite dishes from the tasting was the Brick Cooked Chicken and the Chocolate Lamington Dessert. My favorite wine was not one that paired with those two, but it was called Elate Grange Cuvée which was a red blend. I was considering the wine membership but what attracted me the most was not the wine but the food + wine pairing experience. So although I didn't sign up to be a member, I will definitely come back as a customer! I want to bring my parents next time for either lunch with pairings or the food with pairings option.

Throughout our tasting we learned about the wines on offer as well as background into the area which really adds to the experience. The wines, albeit subjective to individual palate were really good. The high winds really changed the trajectory of our plans. PG&E turned off the power when we were in the coffee shop. Apparently, it affected everyone. It's not too bad wandering around downtown Healdsburg early Sunday morning actually. We knew we would find someone with some wine out. That's when we rounded the corner from Matheson St. down Center and saw Xzavier smiling on the patio after setting the leaf blower to the side. We lamented the high winds and power turned off by PG&E to him, and he welcomed us exclaiming he had wine he could pour. We gladly entered the beautiful patio surrounded by lush foliage. We both took a seat - partial shade and bright rays of sunshine on my back. He brought out whatever our little hearts desired and was very descriptive about the wines. The varietals here are a bit different than most. They had Carignan, Grenache, Petite Verdot and a couple different Zinfandels in addition to the other familiar types such as Chardonnay, Rose, Savignon Blanc, Cabernet and Pinto Noir. I was impressed with the arsenal of wines here! I am usually a fan of the lighter reds which generally translates to Pinot Noir. However, I loved the Grenache! The Old Vine Zinfandel and Azevedo Cabernet I had to take home also. This Cabernet was different than any other I'd ever tasted though. The grapes grow amongst Eucalyptus trees, and that flavor profile carried over into the wine. The smell and the taste was most unique and lovely. When you think there's not much difference out there, Selby will prove you wrong. This is an exceptional tasting room complete with patio full of flowers and greenery. I will gladly repeat this experience.

The wines were excellent, the setting was beautiful, and the hospitality, especially from Rafael, made the visit truly memorable. We can't wait to come back on our next trip to Healdsburg.
