I absolutely adore this cafe and their drink menu that changes seasonally. There is seating in the back as well as outside in front. They strike a nice balance of laptop use by banning it for most, but not all, tables on weekends. Allowed at all tables on the weekdays. Its positioning on the street means there's tons of great daylight that hits the outside seating so even during cold seasons it can be usable. This is one of my favorite features. I'm writing this review for a specific reason. The only thing is that I implore the owner to reconsider the artwork. It really ruins the neighborhood vibe by having Bored Ape Yacht Club / NFT / generative AI art everywhere. It really cheapens the experience. I think it would be lovely if they leaned into their roots with some real Turkish artists. I love their more small-cafe touches like dried pampas grass in repurposed wine bottles. But having so many TV screens of this art disrupts the cozy neighborhood vibe.

This review is not for the coffee. Similar to some other reviews, the place is cute, but food & drink was a bit underwhelming. There's a lot of coffee shops nearby and I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to come here. The inside is small, no seating. However, there are a few tables outside that are perfect when the weather is nice. I ordered an iced matcha with oat milk. I've had worse and I've had better - it leaned more towards the grassy flavor profile, but not bitter. It was watery though which I didn't like. Food-wise, I wouldn't come just for the food. It's a bit underwhelming. I got the mini feta roll - I would skip. Feta texture was rubbery, even warmed up. Baklava was ok, but would skip. The spinach feta pastry was pretty good - salty & buttery and the pastry was nice & flaky.

I think the ambience of this place is excellent. It is an ideal coffee shop to work out of. The service was also very quick and good. But of course, the most important part... coffee was not very strong. An iced latte with oat milk ran me just over $8 dollars before tip. I don't know how many espresso shots they're pulling for their standard latte but I can tell you it's not enough.

Lion's Milk is a small coffee shop tucked in Williamsburg with such nice indoor and outdoor seating. I found myself walking in for a hot coffee on a rainy day. The space was filled with folks working from home and chatting about work. I got a flat white which blew me away- the coffee was bold and so smooth. The lighting in the space and music was very relaxing and chill. I highly recommend a visit. They have plenty of seating, if it's nice out I bet the backyard area would be so nice to sit and yap

I'm a bus away from Williamsburg and usually work remotely, so I decided to come here to do work on a Monday afternoon. This is my second time visiting, as my first visit was on a Saturday and they don't allow laptops on the weekends. During both visits, the drinks were just okay. On the Saturday visit, I got an Iced Oat Matcha Latte. I found the matcha to be rather powdery. There was way more oat milk than matcha too, so the flavor wasn't very potent. During this recent visit, I got an Iced Chai. Again, the milk ratio was overwhelming so the chai flavor didn't stand out. The next time I come back, I'd probably opt for a coffee-based drink. However, the ambiance was very nice. My first time visiting, I just got my drink and went, but this time around, I was able to sit down indoors and do work for a couple of hours until near close. The wi-fi was reliable, but it was hard to find a seat that was close to an outlet, especially since a lot of the table spaces were shared. A nice place to work, but I'd suggest coming earlier if you want to camp out and work all day. Otherwise, it's a nice place to stop by with a friend for coffee and a chat.

Ordered: Iced Vanilla Oat Latte (~$8): includes ice (+50¢), vanilla syrup (+50¢), and oat milk (+$1) Aya's take: Cozy cafe with a decent amount of seating in the back. I also didn't realize it was an NFT cafe but the artwork makes more sense now. ~$8 is a bit steep for a latte but I will say it was exceptionally made. The espresso was rich and smooth, the vanilla syrup gave it a subtle sweetness, and the oat milk made it creamy. I didn't understand the charge for getting the latte iced but after the first sip, I found it worth a try. I'm not sure if this would be my go-to due to price and proximity, but if you're in the area, this is a great stop for your caffeine fix.

Cute place, but for me the food just missed the mark. We had the simit & borek & neither one were very impressive sadly. I also tried the Salep for the first time. I hadn't had it before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it was good!

I did not realize this was an NFT cafe until it was pointed out to me which really threw me off. Overall, light airy interior mostly white and glass which is a nice feel! I went around 11 am on Sunday and it wasn't too crowded but there were definitely people. I ordered an iced coffee and immediately upon picking it up I knew it would be way too milky. It seemed only to have one shot of espresso when it was clearly more than 8 oz. Seems like they are a pastry joint so perhaps worth coming for the food another time!

It's a cute cafe, but a little disappointed with the drinks. Also note that they have wifi, but no laptops on the weekend. Plenty of seating in the back though, it wasn't hard to find a seat on the weekend around noon. Service was ok. Salep ($6) - I was so excited to try this since I've been searching for it since I tried it back in Istanbul way back when. This one tasted super milky and lightly like chai and cinnamon. The flavor was too light and the consistency wasn't as thick as I remembered.

This coffee shop is super cute! I got a vanilla latte and it was yummy. It wasn't too sweet. There isn't a ton of seating. There's a counter with some bar stools. There are also some tables but it's more communal so you'd have to share seating.

Stopped for the first time with a friend today and grabbed a table outside (there's a good bit of outdoor seating). The iced coffee I got was perfection, especially on a hot day. I thought the vegan chocolate chip banana bread I got was a little pricey for the size, at almost $6. But, it tasted nice and homemade, and it wasn't overly sweet. I'd like to come back and try some of the pastries they have on offer. My friend realized there's a little outdoor area out the back just as we were leaving, so I'd come back and check that out too. FYI no dogs allowed inside, and there was a sign up saying no cash, and no laptops allowed on weekends.

This place is great and cute! Away from the hustle and bustle of Bedford Ave but not too far away from the subway stop itself. I got the Turkish coffee and the baklava to go, although I haven't had Turkish coffee before nor been to Country thus the taste was quite unique (in a tasty way)! The baklavas were fantastic very tasty and sweet! Defiantly a must go to for those who are in Williamsburg! read more

I was skeptical at first-I admit it-the decor screamed socialist in a "girl from impanema" easy breezy fab sort of way. Then I realized the woman behind the counter wasn't being an asshole to me-she's sincerely legit and friendly-how refreshing for a weary coffee seeker. A legit wake up call that not everyone has a lack of tact. The baked goods looked insane-i tried a whole wheat croissant and it ruled. Five huge gold stars. read more

Mixed feelings about this cafe, maybe I should leave a review each day: As a Paris resident for 3 years, I think I know what 'MEAN' service can be but apparently NY could be worse: there is this one guy giving me a 'you-show-up-again' look every single day. Today he was giving me a new look, an 'invisible' look, and left me stranded without even asking (thanks to there's no one else but an un-welcomed CUPS guest). He knows that I want simple hot coffee as always, just one press does the job, but he is suddenly occupied with his busy work cleaning steam pipes. I don't ask you to be a bit friendly even, just do your job. This cafe is good in almost everything else, so if you fail it must be the service. Trust me, service goes a long way. Maybe all the way. read more

The coffee is bomb! And the food is super fresh and delicious. It's decor is cute and boutique-like, but the vibe is dope. Dude, live music? There's something about the vibe there that just makes me feel like I'm still in a local, authentic, and original spot. It's hard to find a new spot nowadays that's not just pandering to that wannabe village scene. read more

This is my FAVORITE coffee shop to do work out of in Williamsburg! You can find a seat, there are outlets, WiFi, outdoor seating and is fairly priced. I love the Turkish coffee - it's a small and strong coffee served with a Turkish delight. This has kept me going for many hours of work! The guys that work here are incredibly nice and friendly to me as I tend to spend hours of my week here. If you're tired of some of the pretentious working spots in Brooklyn that are crowded/unauthentic/don't even have outlets, then this is the place for you! read more

Came across this charming cafe/coffee shop on my way to the Bedford L stop. What a pleasant surprise. Not your usual Williamsburg store. To start off, their coffee is among the finest in the neighborhood. What sets them apart is their Turkish coffee. It is authentic and genuine taking me of being back to the shores of the Bosphorus. And the kind Turkish couple offered a complimentary Turkish delight with the coffee. Food was fresh and original in its taste. Everything item on the shelves is thoughtfully curated and placed, with a sundry of food items from not just Turkey but has a unique flavor that sets it apart from the stores around. There is an area to sit inside, but also a quaint patio out front that is ideal. Highly recommend!! read more

The cutest coffee spot! It's very nice and peaceful in there. I had the Turkish coffee but to be honest, I had no idea how to drink it. I was told to wait for the grounds to settle but then do you not drink the last sip and leave the coffee grounds on the bottom to not eat them? Lol dumb question. Anyways, the owner was super sweet and gave me a sample of the Turkish delight to try and they were literally SO good. Worth coming here to just purchase a box! read more

Strolled in on a Saturday morning since I needed to dry off after the monsoon outside. Open on Christmas eve? Awesome! Nice location, quiet and quaint. Loved the whole Turkish-themed goods. Loved the barista. He took the time to explain the variety of baked goods they had. I ended up getting the breakfast wrap and 3 Baklavas. The wrap seemed basic enough, but when it was toasted and he even took the time to cut the top for an added touch, it was delicious. The Baklava was a nice dessert, sweet and flavorful. Most importantly, I go to Devocion a lot on Grand St, so I knew the coffee had to be great. Since this place is closer to me than Devocion, I will definitely continue coming here for my Colombian coffee. Excellent! 5-stars well deserved. read more

I love the baklava at Lion's Milk and I'm very tempted every single time we walk past, which is at least once every weekend. They also make a delicious latte. There are a couple of tables inside and a couple outside. The staff are friendly. read more

Why is this place rated so highly? Upon walking in I loved how they sold artisanal pastas (squid ink pasta) and some Turkish goodies. But I paid $22 for two sandwiches and two cortados. Very steep. Even for this neighborhood. This is a classic case of small portions being sold for double the price. The coffee was good (they use coffee from Devociòn) but slightly bitter and stale compared to how I've had it at Devociòn. My major problem is how incredibly small their sandwiches are. Nowhere does it say legibly that their sandwiches are on MINI baguettes. Charging $7.50 for a sandwich that's a quarter size of what it should be?! I've been to so many Turkish restaurants/cafes and Turkish homes and I'm kind of sad that their portion sizes are like this. My best friend is Turkish and I would've loved to take her here to a place that's close by me but I just can't get over how overpriced this sandwich is. Delicious albeit but you could make it at home for half the price. I will not return. read more

Lion's Milk is actually means Rakı which is an unsweetened, anise-flavored Turkish alcoholic drink that is popular in Turkey, as an apéritif. It is often served with seafood or meze. It is similar to several other alcoholic beverages available around the Mediterranean and the Middle East, like ouzo, sambuca and arak. Dilution with water causes rakı to turn a milky-white color. This phenomenon has resulted in the drink being popularly referred to Lion's Milk. Lion is a Turkish colloquial metaphor for a strong, courageous man, this gives the term a meaning close to "the milk for the strong." Every Turkish person knows story and loves the term. So do we.

Lion's Milk required substantial construction and there was huge potential in what it could become. An unexpected but satisfying career change happened. Been going to Oslo and Gimmee for years and I think the quality is better and more consistent at Lions Milk. Have gone everyday since they opened!
