I was eager to try Seitan's Helper from the first time I heard about it, so when I was in Bushwick for the day I knew I had to stop by. It's a small shop with no seating (or AC - beware, it gets HOT in there) so plan on taking your sandwich to go. The large menu is a welcome sight to any vegetarians or vegans used to having only one or two options at restaurants. Each sandwich is unique and they are different enough from each other that I'd like to come back and try something new. Service was extremely friendly and we were offered as many samples of any kind of plant-based meat as we wanted. I ordered the Evil Twin and was pretty happy with my choice. The plant-based roast beef was tasty and more satisfying than most meat alternatives. My biggest complaint would be the amount of red cabbage on the sandwich. It was a good topping, but the sheer volume sort of dwarfed some of the other flavors. However, the quality of the sandwich, helpful service, and variety of menu options are certainly enough to bring me back eventually.

Seitan's Helper has an awesome thing going on. It's a vegan deli, with all its meats made from seitan, in-house, from scratch with cheeky names for its sandwiches like Evil Twin and The Omen. And they are delish! Had the BEC from their standard menu which comes with their chickpea nomelette with maple bacon and red pepper jam on a potato onion roll. Also tried The Creature from their specialty menu made with grilled chik'n and red peppers, cashew mozzarella, olive tapenade, and chimi churri sauce on focaccia. These sandos do not skimp on flavor. Like the place, they burst with personality. Can't recommend Seitan's Helper enough. It made my day.

Amazing sandwiches and the best vegan thanksgiving meal. Service is great. I've ordered both online and in-person. Ambiance is a cute mellow vegan deli. Nowhere to really sit and dine in; this is more of a takeaway spot--like most delis. My favorite sandwich is the Triple Threat. Can't get over how good the Thxgiving meal is. Yum!

I loved the food and the vibe of this spot. The Thanksgiving sandwich was amazing! The ladies were nice and I loved that they blasted Chappell Roan the entire time. They offered turkey rolls for thanksgiving in their deli case as well. I can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches!

Great vegan deli. The Triple Threat (Italian sandwich) ruled. Perfect flavor balance. Fresh. 10/10. I bought a bunch of slices to go to make this sandwich at home. The macaroni salad was great. And the people working there were friendly and helpful. Can't recommend it enough. I wish this place was in my town.

The sandwiches are very impressive. So flavorful and creative. Staff is very friendly. If you are vegan you must add this place to your regular takeout spots. If you are not vegan you will also enjoy.

AMAZING! Tried Seitan's Helper for the first time today and was so impressed. Our local vegan restaurant closed and we decided to give them a shot, despite being one borough over. The sandwiches were super good, tasty and a good size. Very much recommended! We got the Chickie Ceasar Wrap and the Triple Threat.

Warm atmosphere, a strong selection of vegan food and drinks, and the kind of place that made the evening feel special without trying too hard. It's since closed, and from what I understand it wasn't about the food or the love from regulars, it was the brutal economics of running a sit-down restaurant in a delivery-and-takeout world. Nine years of serving genuinely great vegan comfort food in Williamsburg, done in by margins rather than quality. That's a rough way for a good restaurant to go. If you ever got to eat here, you know what was lost. If you didn't, I'm sorry you missed it.

The menu is stacked--sandwiches, hearty apps, macs, and cozy entrees that make you forget you're eating vegan. During my visit, they were running a Reuben sandwich special that seriously tempted me, but I went with the oyster mushroom calamari, and wow, the seasoning was spot on, and it could easily fool a seafood lover. My friend tried the seitan wings and was really impressed, even though he's usually not into mock meats. They came with super flavorful sauces and were definitely shareable. He also had the smash burger, which was a total win--savory, satisfying, and gave big diner vibes. We heard the milkshakes are amazing too, but we were too full to fit them in. Next time, for sure. Only downside? The service was on the slow side--we waited over 30 minutes between apps and mains. It's a popular spot, so some delay is understandable, but it was noticeable. Overall, I loved it and can't wait to go back with an emptier stomach and room for dessert.

Food: - Dancehall Burger- sounded interesting but the maduros were a miss. would have been better with avocado and bacon. the slut sauce made this burger. onions were grilled but not caramelized. overall it was a solid burger. - Hollywood Hooker: massive but kind of bland? the texture was spot on for a philly chopped sandwich. but no slut sauce :( get the burger - eggrolls: philly cheesesteak egg roll. it was popular. I can prove my Haitian ethnicity by cooking traditional dishes. The legume was on point! That dish was my favorite. My friend truly enjoyed her salmon. Honestly, I wish I had gotten the salmon to take home instead of the Haitian fried chicken. Now, that wasn't that great to me, and I didn't enjoy it :( I'm still giving them all the stars and all the props because I really appreciated the service. This was my first time trying a Haitian patty with spinach, and it was absolutely fantastic. I think it's even better than the chickpea one. I would definitely highly recommend this place and also go back. But the Haitian fried chicken need to be better. Still, I'll definitely come again and try the salmon next time!!!

I ordered the vegan platter whose black beans were smooth and piping hot, alongside the crispy fried tostones and meaty vegan meatballs. In fact the meatballs were so meat-like that neither my sister nor my husband could belief that they were made of jackfruit. The white rice was also extremely fluffy and moist and judging by the diligent rice-washing that was taking place behind the counter as we ate, I could tell that the staff really works hard to make it not just an afterthought, but a quality addition to the meal. My sister also really enjoyed her shrimp plate while my husband devoured his half-chicken platter. The sauces on our platters were also extremely flavorful, complementing the proteins in a beautiful way.
