I was eager to try Seitan's Helper from the first time I heard about it, so when I was in Bushwick for the day I knew I had to stop by. It's a small shop with no seating (or AC - beware, it gets HOT in there) so plan on taking your sandwich to go. The large menu is a welcome sight to any vegetarians or vegans used to having only one or two options at restaurants. Each sandwich is unique and they are different enough from each other that I'd like to come back and try something new. Service was extremely friendly and we were offered as many samples of any kind of plant-based meat as we wanted. I ordered the Evil Twin and was pretty happy with my choice. The plant-based roast beef was tasty and more satisfying than most meat alternatives. My biggest complaint would be the amount of red cabbage on the sandwich. It was a good topping, but the sheer volume sort of dwarfed some of the other flavors. However, the quality of the sandwich, helpful service, and variety of menu options are certainly enough to bring me back eventually. read more

I went for my go to sandwich the triple threat which is a combo of seitan mortadella, salami, and pepperoni all of which is made in house and is available for purchase. I also purchased their garlic potato rosemary soup which I honestly will probably comeback again tomorrow for since it was just that good. I hadn't been back in a while and I'm glad to see that they offer indoor seating now. The team is always friendly and hospitable. For the holidays, they make charcuterie and have seitan roasts. A little out of the way for me, but a must visit when I'm nearby. read more

I loved the food and the vibe of this spot. The Thanksgiving sandwich was amazing! The ladies were nice and I loved that they blasted Chappell Roan the entire time. They offered turkey rolls for thanksgiving in their deli case as well. I can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches! read more

Seitan's Helper has an awesome thing going on. It's a vegan deli, with all its meats made from seitan, in-house, from scratch with cheeky names for its sandwiches like Evil Twin and The Omen. And they are delish! Had the BEC from their standard menu which comes with their chickpea nomelette with maple bacon and red pepper jam on a potato onion roll. Also tried The Creature from their specialty menu made with grilled chik'n and red peppers, cashew mozzarella, olive tapenade, and chimi churri sauce on focaccia. These sandos do not skimp on flavor. Like the place, they burst with personality. Can't recommend Seitan's Helper enough. It made my day. read more

Amazing sandwiches and the best vegan thanksgiving meal. Service is great. I've ordered both online and in-person. Ambiance is a cute mellow vegan deli. Really enjoyed the food here. The staff (probably owners?) we're friendly and helpful. My patter is gluten free so going to a seitan shop can be tricky. This place RULES! Super friendly staff who gave some excellent recommendations for a first timer like me, but I totally rocked a Lemon Boo Boo. Deep fried seitan culet, smothered in lemon gravy, deep friend potato slices, and sautéed spinach all on a glorious roll. Stumbled upon this place and just happened upon the BEST sandwich of my life. The person who made the food was so sweet and friendly. They make all their vegan meats in house, and after years of searching I have finally had the pleasure to taste vegan salami and it was glorious. I cannot recommend this place enough-- it's an hour and a half from where I live but it's going to become a regular destination for me nonetheless. A friend and I split the buffalo sandwich (cannot remember the specific name), and the triple threat. The buffalo was AMAZING but the triple threat I swear to god is the perfect sandwich. *Delayed review from Thanksgiving 2021* Love, love, love, this place!! They make amazing, savory vegan sandwiches. I called in a pick up order the other day and spoke to a nice gentleman. He recommended the BEC, which I got along with the Thanks Seitan sandwich and Evil Twin. I enjoyed every morsel of BEC sandwich from the deli meat, toppings, down to the bread. Its packed with 'bacon', chickpea nomelette, Violife cheddar, roasted red pepper jam, and spicy mayo on a potato onion roll. *chefs kiss* I shared the Thanks Seitan sandwich (seasonal special) with my sister. It was very different and hearty but just as delicious. It was packed with spicy turkey stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce and cheese in a focaccia hero. Yum, yum, yum! Literally Thanksgiving in a form of a sandwich. My brother, a die-hard carnivore, enjoyed the Evil Twin, claiming it was unique and that he wouldn't mind getting it again. How this place differs from the rest is the flavor, portion size, and price. Its packed with unique ingredients that are flavorful and tasteful that leaves you full. The word bland literally does not exist here. The portions are good and the prices are reasonable. Visited Seitan's Helper for the first time Saturday 1/6 at the recommendation of Brit and Hannah over at Yough for somewhere with delicious Vegan eats - and my goodness was it BUSY! We had a Bacon, Egg and Cheese (BEC) and a Rito wrap which were DELICIOUS! What I also found so heartwarming is that Amanda and Cheyenne (who I guess are the owners?) were having a playfully sweet time making the food AND knew most of their customers BY NAME!! (Before they ordered, I should add). I love that so much!! Definitely recommend to anyone, but especially if you are vegan or vegetarian! Like me, you will be coming back ^__^ read more

This place is the BEST. I've been vegan for over 6 years and have tried my far share of vegan sandwiches and these are by far the best. Me and a friend split the bacon mac, chicken Caesar wrap, and the evil twin sandwich. The evil twin sandwich was my favorite but all three were really delicious. The pricing is incredibly reasonable and the food is great quality. I live across the country but can't wait to visit again so I can find here! read more

I always loved delis before going vegan but they're definitely not the most vegan friendly, but I don't need to worry because there's Seitans Helper! AMAZING! This is my favorite vegan deli in NYC. The food is always fresh, tasty, and the flavors are on point. There is a large variety of sandwiches, and I am trying to make my way through all of them. I love that all the "meat" is made-in-house and not processed or brought-in. I've also ordered their meats by the pound to make sandwiches at home, and the flavors are just out of this world. Idk how they do it. I even fooled a few meat eating friends with their sandwiches. Also, the entire team is so nice and helpful. We ordered some thanksgiving items from Seitan's helper and were given awesome instructions on how to prep and warm up the items. That sandwich was amazing. I ordered the "Triple Threat" sandwich and it had stacks of vegan pepperoni, salami, and mortadella. It was dressed up with vegan chedder, peppers, red onions, greens, mayo, and vinaigrette on a hero with perfect conistency. There was an explosion of flavor with each bite. It's unusual for a sandwich to knock my socks off, but here we are. Too hungry to have taken any photos. Can't wait to try the other sammies here and their baked goods once the oven is fixed. I also liked the fact that once I paid with my credit card, I didn't have to interact with a screen interface like Square which makes you feel compelled to tip. This place slays the house down. I'm not even vegan and it was tewwww good. The only drawback was the sandwich kinda fell apart so like maybe if the bread was a little bigger that wouldn't happen but who cares, I'm not judging a reality tv competition show. I'm not vegan and a lot of times meat alternatives actually hurt my stomach (??) but this did not and the people working there were very nice. Happy Pride! read more

The concept is cool as it's a cafe during the day and then a cool bar at night, called Niteglow. Super cool and I'd come back :)

Baristas were solid, price was right, everything was grand... I don't know what has happened in the last 6-9 months but I've had to stop coming here full stop. The drink I would always order and am intimately familiar with now tastes fundamentally different--burnt. And not in a dark roast way I would opt into... burnt in a non-intentional way. I don't know if something's up with the espresso machine plumbing that's burning the espresso, if the quality of the roast/beans have changed (doubt it), or if the microbiome of the ice machine is off--but the coffee now always tastes burnt in a way it never did before...and all my friends agree! I sincerely lament that this is the case and I check every 6 weeks or so to see if the espresso machine has been tuned up or something... but once again my cup was not tasty yesterday :/ !! I still go to other variety locations around the city and everything is ok elsewhere. I wasn't going to say anything but I'm just exhausted of not being able to get my reasonably priced, reliably good iced espresso drink when I get off at dekalb so I'm speaking up!
