Always enjoy my meal! Their gruyere grilled cheese on sourdough, tater tots with thyme parm, and fried brussels with balsamic.

Their food is phenomenal! I've never dined in, so I can't speak to their service, but I've ordered delivery many times. My faves are the fried brussel sprouts with balsamic and capers as well as their mac and cheese - so freakin' good!!! Their tater tots and grilled cheeses are also delish. Their food always arrives hot too, so get ittt.

Small establishment but friendly staff! The food was prepared well and there was enough for leftovers. Also ordered the watermelon sangria which was yum.

Incredibly attentive service and some of the best sandwiches we have ever had! All week we have been debating when we can get back! A smaller space but plenty of room for our large group and a handful of other parties. Will be back asap! Hearts!!!!

    Braised Short-Rib Sandwich

Came in on a random weekday for lunch. I'd heard about these mythical sandwiches and thought - how good can a sandwich be?! Turns out they are pretty amazing! Warm, perfectly toasted bread, short rib was so tender, juicy, and flavorful. Sat on the outdoor patio area which was relaxing and quite spacious. I admired that a lot of people came for beers at 1pm, must be a nice life! Unfortunately the kitchen was quite busy during our visit, and we ended up waiting over 35 minutes. For a freaking sandwich. A good one, yes, but that is pretty unacceptable on a weekday at lunch. Also - they have a card surcharge of 3.5% which was not advertised clearly until bill came. I know they're not the only culprit but this is false advertising and it is a practice that is quite unethical, frustrating that restaurants keep nickel and diming their customers!

Pulled Pork Tacos, Sweet Corn Nuggets

I tried this on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! Their prices are pretty fair for the portions, and the corn nuggets were the best I've had in NYC! As someone originally from Tx, I did not think I would be impressed, but I was! I had the pulled pork tacos and they were wonderful. I hope to be back soon!

I was not the first to review The Wheelhouse, but I was the first customer for that day six years ago. I had the short rib grilled cheese and tots and chopped it up with one of the owners. He was good company and the food was all of that or alla dat! I wanted a grilled cheese sammie, but was too lazy to concoct one, plus I didn't have bread (trying to avoid it, but today's craving superseded that and because it's Friday!). Of course I ordered (UberEats) the short rib grilled cheese, but also the Red, White and Blue, because I love bleu cheese and almost any other cheese, I like variety and it's Friday. I had one half of each and was content and happy to say that The Wheelhouse is still on point! Both sandwiches were delicious, savory, great portions, and satisfying. my food was delivered and wasn't hot, but warm and still elicited endorphin party vibes (INSERT BIG SMILE (((CHEESE!!!!... absolutely intended)))). Y'all ROCK! (Refer to my first review for food details).

Hidden gem in the neighborhood. Lazy rainy Sunday led us to stumble into The Wheelhouse. The wife wanted tomato soup and after searching for some on yelp, seemed to be the go to spot. And let me tell ya, for sure it was! Hit the spot. I had the Braised Short-Rib Sandwich and Mac and cheese and the wife the Creamy Roasted Tomato Soup Panavia Tornado. Very filling and delicious. Will definitely be back.

The Wheelhouse will be a new go-to, the menu has something for everyone! Today we tried 3 of their sandwiches. Each one had great flavor, perfect serving size, and were neat- I hate a messy sandwich! It's really hard to find somewhere with good gluten free options and this place made me feel like I wasn't missing out on anything. Great food, quick and attentive service, and so many options. We will definitely be back!

My favorite dish here is probably the mussels, great flavor and would probably go well with a glass of wine! The first time I came I tried a cocktail which was very good but because the dishes are very flavorful it might have been too much sugar/salt. The portions here are huge as well so I think for the price its very worth it. It's a cute restaurant as well with open kitchen so great for a date if you're sitting at the bar or if you have a group the tables are pretty big as well. Overall, it's pretty spread out inside which I really appreciate and I have found that it's pretty easy to get a reservation last minute. This place was the winner, and it was everyone's first time. We got in at our reserved time, and we had to wait about 5 minutes before our table was ready. Once it was, we were taken care of and quite frankly had no idea what treat we were in for! Let's start with the drinks. They have a drink on the menu called Celadon City. Who won the staff as a pokémaniac?! I had to get it just for the name. The rice vodka, yuzu, melon liqueur, and other flavors made it a fantastic, summery drink. My friends got the Smooth Landing & Smooth Talker ... One was a fantastic dirty martini and the other had the best bite of ginger. The food... Oh my God. We decided to split the breads and spreads and burrata... Each came with their housemade grilled focaccia, and the smoked paprika hummus and ricotta with chili honey? WHEW! The burrata dish with the sweet potato, pesto and tomato jam was a hit too. The menu didn't even say I'd have a balsamic drizzle on top! All of that was just the warm up... My gnocchi dish was spectacular. I'm not even a big mushroom person, but those oyster mushrooms and charred kale were a hit in the pasta. My friends' gigli pasta and mussels were great too. We ended up sharing a bottle of white wine as well, and the dinner was truly a 5/5. 0 I would absolutely go back, and it seems like their menu changes every now and then. I'm looking forward to the next time! Even if it's just for a cocktail.

The ceviche was probably the best ceviche I've ever had in my life. It was blood orange based, but the citrus was really well balanced. The king oyster mushroom dish was soo delicious. The sauce and the texture of the mushrooms were to die for. I've salivating thinking about them right now! The fish was also so amazing. It's a beautifully designed space, and we went in the evening so it was dimly lit and had good tunes, contributing to an intimate and cool vibe. The service throughout was good both by our primary server and the rest of the team that was bringing out dishes. For the food, we did not feel that it was a strong start, but the ending was great! The first dish to come out was their cornbread, which we agreed was very light and had a super tender texture, but there was just nothing special about the taste profile to us. The second dish were their prawns. We couldn't put our finger on the off-putting flavor in there, but we agreed that something just wasn't right and almost tasted spoiled. You also had to work a bit to dissect the prawns and remove the heads and skin. To work for it and then not enjoy the taste wasn't a great combo for us, unfortunately. It started turning around with their sweet potatoes, a type I'd never had before that were "baby" and purple on the outside while white inside. They served the potatoes with a gorgeously whipped Greek yogurt that added the exact right amount of tang to balance the sweet potato and the herby topping. The stars of the night were the coconut basmati rice and the lamb shank. My goodness! The rice dish was so complex from a flavor and texture profile and just hit all the right notes for us, and that lamb! Definitely one of the best lamb dishes I've had - Impossibly tender and seasoned to perfection. One other note I'll make regarding drinks is that they did not have a strong wine list. I ended up ordering a red, but later heard our waiter recommend against getting their wine to another table and suggesting their cocktails and mocktails instead. Just something to keep in mind if you're a wine lover!

Sam was wonderful to also suggest us really delicious, salty, fresh and wild white wines to pair with our dishes. Everything we had were perfectly cooked with bold flavors. I could definitely taste the care and detail put into every dish. For the smoked sablefish dish, the sauce was so delicious, we asked for some toasted in-house sourdough to soak it up. Some of the dishes definitely could've had a little more flavor or seasoning, especially compared to how hyped up the restaurant is, but there were still a few standout plates that made the meal memorable. My favorites were the clams, the tuna, and the rice dish, all three were so simple but done really well. The tuna especially tasted incredibly fresh and balanced, and the clams had such a light, clean flavor that worked perfectly with the wine. You can tell this is one of those places focused on quality ingredients and a more understated approach to food rather than overly heavy flavors. Overall, really glad we went and it's definitely worth trying at least once, especially if you love sharing plates and trying a bunch of different dishes throughout the night.
