I am really delighted with this piece. I ended up splurging on cashmere socks which are to die for. They are putty soft and delicious to wear. I forgot how warm real cashmere is. It was a great day to walk, so we used the walking path that connects the villages. (Note that if you require mobility assistance, it may be best to drive between the villages). The public restrooms at the Welcome Center (Green Village) and next to Banana Republic (Blue Village) were clean, well stocked, and in good condition. My aunt even complimented the nice aroma (smelled like lemons). Not all stores had fantastic deals (Lucky Brand was still at $99 for a pair of jeans) but still nice to browse thru.

I remember when this area of Vail wasn't called Solaris, and it housed a Haagen Dazs, Verbatim…read morebookstore, an art gallery, a tiny little old fashioned movie theater, a records & tapes store, a grab & go little grocery store, and a pizza restaurant. Well times have changed and none of those stores are here anymore. Makes me sad and nostalgic. These newer shops are very high-end and lack any real personality. The exception is Yeti's Grind coffee shop- always a solid cup to be found here at an affordable price, plus they have a full espresso bar and fresh roasted beans to take home. I love the little grassed area in front of the shops- perfect for kids to just run & run & run. The grass is replaced with ice in the colder months and turns into an ice skating rink- so fun! FYI: There are public restrooms behind Yeti's and there's a free Vail shuttle pick up/drop off spot on the west side of the plaza.
