Save your money and go elsewhere. Liquid Highway used to be the go-to place in Mount Pleasant for a car wash. Been going there for years and it always was a fair deal for a good interior and exterior cleaning. Apparently, it's under new ownership and is now a disaster. I brought my pollen-covered car there, and the guy up front looked at the inside and outside and quoted a thorough, clean price (not a detail) of $75. I thought this was fair as the car was really dirty inside and needed the towel treatment on the interior. When I got the car, the roof was entirely covered in loose pollen still. Entirely. A wet finger took it right off. I commented to the guy handing off the car, and he went into a long and involved story about the cost of labor and how much time they spent on my car. The inside was fine. Fair deal for the price. The exterior hadn't been touched on the roof. He finally agreed to run it through again after I made him step up and look a the roof, demonstrating how the pollen came right off with my finger. I pull around and tell the guy who makes up quotes on the fly (no service menus anymore), and he does some extra magic pre-spray. All good so far, barring the fact they had the gall to deliver a filthy car and call it "done." I pull up to the pressure wash guy at the front of the machine entrance, and before I say a word, he starts giving me a ration of crap. Direct quotes here: "I can't reach the roof of your SUV so I'm not pressure washing that." "What do you expect? There's no way we're hand washing this car." ( didn't ask for that "If the machine doesn't get it, that's too bad. It is what it is." Unbelievable. I drive a standard (no lift) Toyota Sequoia with a roof the same height as 10 million other cars on the road. They knew this when they quoted the $75 price. Oh, and the car has running boards to step on on three sides. Long story over. The car comes out, and about half of the loose stuff comes off. The photos I'm attaching here are after TWO washes at this place. So, from the car wash, I immediately went to... the car wash - one of those self-serve pressure wash places. It turns out the high-pressure soap was broken, so I rinsed the roof with water only. Guess what? 95% of the loose pollen came right off. This pathetic excuse for a car wash couldn't manage it with two "professional" washes, and I got a free chewing out by some employee as a bonus. Needless to say, after 10 or 15 years, we're done. Well in Mt P this am taking care of mom. Decided to treat my wife's SUV to Liquid Highway since it is her favorite Carwash spot. I got the Tidal Wave which comes with the standard wash set up and tire shine and hot wax. Overall staff is friendly and check in person is courteous. They have 2 main lines for exterior and interior car washes. They work in 2 person teams to tackle the interior and wipe down exterior. Solid Car Wash so 4 Stars !! read more

I just got my car washed at Liquid Highway on Hungryneck Blvd in Mount Pleasant. I have used this car wash a lot in the past, but their service has been going downhill for a while now and I will never again use their "services". I paid $34 for inside and out, washing and cleaning, but did not do "detailing", which is expensive. When they were done and called me I noticed pollen around the back window and on my tonneau cover. I asked, "Could you not get this off?" He replied, "No, not with an Express Wash. You have to do a detailing for that." I went home and it came off with some water and a rag!! I realize that pollen is a pain, but they didn't even make an attempt to remove it. Lackadaisical effort and horrible customer service. I will not be returning. read more

I paid $40 for a wash (inside and out) and they charged me an extra $10 for vacuuming back seat since I have two car seats there, after I drove away I noticed they didn't even VACUME THE BACK SEAT AT ALL, the car seats were filthy and dirt and dust in every crevice in the back seat. It was a very bad car wash in general (exterior) but the fact that they charged EXTRA to not even vacuum the back and miss so many obvious spots is SHOCKING to say the least. I will not be going back ever again and hope to find a better place soon (let me know if you have any recs). Of course when I called to ask the policy and if I could return for them to fix it no one answered. read more

First go around: got in line for the $33 exterior and interior car wash. A breeze! Very pleased with service. Got home and realized they never vacuumed the back seat or trunk. Drove back and they were very apologetic. Went back through the wash experience, except this time I waited an hour for a simple vacuum service. Was frustrated but didn't think much of it. Once I got home again, I checked the back and they didn't get the middle row again! I guess I should have checked there so this didn't happen again?? Left a voicemail and no response. Spent $63 on an exterior was with interior clean (plus extra since my Prius is considered a "5-door") with an extra $15-20 to spot treat a few stains. First, the good, they got out the stains and washed my car. Now the bad... Even though I was charged extra I had to return a 2nd time to them 5 minutes after leaving because they didn't vacuum the back or clean the windows. Worst of all, even after the 2nd return, I got back home to realize the front window was streaky and quite gross (still). I tried to call them to see what can be done (since they clearly didn't do the best job on my car) and have yet to hear back. Guess I'll have to finish the job myself! read more

Pulled into the vehicle bay and some dude says "You drove all the way from Arizona for the best car wash?" Payed $46 for a full get up, an extra $10 for a "wax/coat". What I actually got was a $18 car wash and poor vacuum job. No wax, no tire shine, and I'm pretty sure they put more sand in my truck than they vacuumed out. Also no scent either, my truck smelt more like sweaty teenagers than anything else. Cup holders were sticky and dirty. I have been a long standing (over 5+years) loyal customer to Liquid Highway Carwash and have never had one problem until today when I took my brand new Chevy truck through the wash. I asked for an external Tsunami wash w a towel dry. Mind you the truck is just less than a month old bought straight from the dealership here in mount pleasant. So this is the FIRST wash it had received. I went though the wash and then to towel dry just as I do with my two other vehicles that I have (on monthly payment auto deducted). The towel boy dried my car and I left. To just go across the street to a business meeting I had. When I got out of car to look at my nice new wash, the pics attached are what I see . I am like holy crap... they must have something wrong with their brushes. So I finished my meeting and drove directly back across the street and spoke w the owner. I have a recording (if you would like to hear it dm me) of him literally YELLING AT ME telling me that his car wash did NOT do this and that these are ROCK scratches. And tells me he is doing NOTHING about it and literally walks off from me. My truck had not one scratch on it before that. I drive directly back to the dealership that I had JUST left from getting an oil change and they said that what you see in the pics WAS NOT there when they did the oil change and inspected the ENTIRE vehicle. Liquid Highway Carwash is a pure SCAM! The OWNER is atrocious and should be closed down for how unprofessional he was. It is CLEARLY NOT rock chips and is a BAD CHEMICAL in their system per THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP that will now be fixing this and of course a lawsuit will follow with the damages. I don't recommend ever bringing a half decent car through any car wash due to the fact that it leaves marks and scratches in the paint. But, for my daily driver that I don't care as much about, I bring it through liquid highway. I am a local, been here for 10+ years and always came to this car wash. Here's the deal, i ask for just the carwash, and a cleaning of the interior and to make sure the windows are clean. I don't care about the wax or details because none of the 16 year old kids are detailed enough to perform that level of care on any of the vehicles coming through the establishment. Now, the carwash itself cleans 80% of the bugs off my windshield and leaves most of them on the grill. I expect my $40 to go towards taking the other 20% of the bugs off. Also, when you clean the interior, spray the dash first, then the windshield so that way there's no splatter from the dash cleaner onto the windshield. It's just common sense. Then, when you wash windows, you gotta do one simple task that is always overlooked, roll all windows down 2-4 inches, and wipe the dirt from the top where it slides into the moldings in the door frame. It takes 2 seconds and makes all the difference to just attention to detail. Last, don't wipe windows in a damn circle. You go at an angle one way, then at an angle the other way to prevent leaving streaks. Car wash 101. Overall, the turn into this place is a nightmare and I wrote this book while waiting 45 minutes for my car to get a half fast wipe down. Smh read more

I get it if they are dealing with short staff, what I dont get is sitting waiting 40 minutes for them to clean my car (they say they go by the time on the receipt) then seeing other cars that came behind you go in before you. They broke my rear view mirror (I went to the dealership and asked) and the manager there didn't even acknowledge it just shook it off and walked away as if it was my fault. I find it hard when you can't own up to your mistakes. Be aware if going and something breaks. They won't own up to it. read more

Could not recommend this place LESS. I went for a clean and asked for a deep clean inside and even pointed out some stains and glitter inside that needed to be looked at. Got back in the car, noticed spots everywhere and glitter still. Also pulled up the mats they "cleaned" and saw some were filthy and they had not vacuumed underneath. Also specifically asked if I needed to move the box in the trunk so it could be cleaned (paid extra for the trunk) and they didn't clean it at all. When I asked them to re-do some of it, the man told me that had I come earlier and not so close to closing time, they would have done more. He also told me, the glitter ia just not going to come up unless they did more...Really? Significant lack of customer service, and blamed it all on the poor lady who took my order saying she really didn't know what she was offering me. Go ANYWHERE else. read more

I like to keep my car clean and Liquid Highway is the only car wash that I use. I have a red metallic paint so I worry about scratches in the paint from a car wash. I gave Liquid Highway a try because they don't use brushes. I have been bringing my car there for 3 years and have not been disappointed. The unlimited wash is a great plan since we are covered with yellow pollen 10 months of the year. I can zip through the wash a couple times a week if needed. The staff is always very friendly and they keep things moving through quickly. They also have a very nice waiting area if you get your car detailed. read more

Been coming to Liquid Highway for many years but unfortunately I won't be back. My vehicle was rear ended in the car wash by a car who was then rear ended by another car. Luckily my vehicle had no visible damage but it was a very unnerving situation. Accidents happen and I understand that, however there is no excuse for the lack of concern shown by the management. No apology, no offer of a free wash, no contact after the fact. (We all filled out accident reports and it has been almost 2 months by this point and I've heard nothing) Liquid Highway used to be the best option for a wash in Mt. Pleasant but now there are plenty of other places to choose from. For the record: I have been going through automatic car washes like this for years, sometimes multiple times a week, and I know what not to do. I did not hit the brakes, turn my wheel, or do anything to cause my car to stop. It was a malfunction of their equipment that caused the accident. read more

I've taken my car a hand full of times and every time, there is a new scratch and even paint removed. I used to love coming here but The quality of service and wash has severely declined. The machines are too rough and not cleaned/maintained properly. Over the years, the quality of their service has severely declined (with the exception of the interior detailing). This time, I came out of the wash with my new 2018 Impreza (4000 miles) and there was a FRESH chip in the hood paint. The manager, Steve, was unapologetic, rude and dismissive. I really enjoy going to Liquid Highway. My brother always gives the family gift certificates there, and I absolutely love receiving them. I really enjoy getting my car cleaned there. I don't mind waiting for the car to be cleaned because it is so nice inside. Because of the free WiFi, I have often brought my laptop and done some work while waiting. The only thing about Liquid Highway are the prices. It is hard for me to afford often. However, I can say that, compared to other local car wash places, this place does a far superior job with inside detailing. My sister-in-law who was with my 6yr old nephew took their car to get washed at 6:20 pm and went through the initial motions. As she was in the car wash she got about halfway through the wash and the people working there turn off the machine(tried say it malfunction) and left her stuck inside for 15 mins. During the time she was stuck she attempted numerous times to contact the office but they had their phone system set to voicemail so they employees didn't have to answer the phone. She contacted numerous family member to get help because her son was terrified and she was blaring her horn that no employee seemed to hear. Needless to say the cops had to be called and when they arrived she was able to get out. Don the person in charge told her why didn't she honk her horn which she had been doing. Her son who is now traumatized from being stuck in the car wash never wants to go back and the so called person in charge named Don, who doesn't care whether a bad review is left for the car wash or not didn't have any sympathy and tried putting the blame on the high school kids working there which show Don's management skills are below average. Needless to say they don't plan on going back ever again and I would advise other to not go there as well. read more

Awful below par service and attitude. Guy that works the front is RUDE and lacks basic people skills paid their suggest price of $34' and my car was still dirty . I paid asked that the inside be vacuumed and cup holders and side panels wiped down which was not done , the outside of the car was dirty and had black streaks all over it . I guess the $33 doesn't include wiping the windshield and windows . I came back to give them a third chance after several prior bad experiences I used to be a weekly customer. Liquid Highway sucks. They canceled my appt for a detail the day before appt and they are beyond horrible in returning phone calls to reschedule the appt. I tried calling them 10 times. And rather than apologizing for the mistake of canceling on me when I came back in person to get the detail rescheduled, the manager on duty tried to fight with me saying they wouldn't cancel on me and that I must have canceled... which was not the case. I had been a member of liquid highway for over 2 years. I took in my 2009 Hyundai Genesis for regular washing. I used to do car washes only by hand, but I obtained an unlimited car wash membership shortly after my first son was born. I went to this car wash 3+ days a week. I noticed that after a year of taking it to Liquid Highway, my aluminum wheels started showing a lot of black spots on them (maybe from the tire shine). My wheels are basically ruined. Since I want to start washing my car by hand again, (and not mess up my wheels furthermore) I canceled my membership online. Then, Steve from Liquid Highway called and had me take over my car for him to look at. He commented and said that since I had bought the car used, the previous owners may have "refinished" the wheels. He then told me that he'd get in contact with me to let me know what he could do. I never got a call back. A month later, I called back and never got a response. Crickets. . To be fair, most of the other employees of the facility were nice. It has a nice setup inside as well. But beware-- I wouldn't take your car if you are concerned about your wheels. They sure won't do anything about it if they end up getting messed up. You'd be better off going elsewhere or just washing your car yourself. read more

The dash was covered in Armour All that they didn't wipe away, the cup holders still had dirt in them and he paid extra to have the back hatch cleaned but it was still full of beach The only good experience he had was the guy that he paid. We tip everyone if they do their job properly so needless to say they did not receive a tip this morning. We have two more cars to get detailed this weekend but it won't be there! read more

With a birthday gift card from my husband for Liquid Highway, I made an appt. for an inside/outside wash (plus ceramic coating), a leather cleaning & conditioning. I arrived promptly at my scheduled time - which I was reminded of by a lot of texts and emails. They do that well! Frustrated at first that there was no one to speak to and that there seemed to be no record of my appt or what I was supposed to get, I explained about my appt. It would have been so nice to not have to go over all of that again. Fortunately, the person that I found to help me was a guy named Lee and he was smiling, friendly, professional and conscientious. He treated me respectfully and was attentive both in the beginning and when I returned to pick up my car. The ceramic coating had not been applied, but Lee had it done within a short time. Lee deserves 5 stars, but Liquid Highway only gets 4 this time. read more

I normally go to Cactus but came here the other day to follow up on a job not done. My daughter took my car to get detailed on the inside because she is convinced that these guys are better than Cactus. No, not in my opinion. The car still had visible dirt marks on the seats and doors on the inside after she came home. I actually thought she hadn't gone in at all based on my car's interior, that is until I saw the receipt. When I get there I was approached by one of the employee's who actually didn't really question me at all and took me at my word. Good customer service. He took the car, detailed it again and now it looks good.So, I don't know what happened the first time but they fixed the problem. I think I will stick with Cactus. I have never had an issue with them. Plus, this area is way too tight and busy for the security and safety of my car. My husband just took his truck to be washed. None of the dirt/black mold was removed from the roof and hood of his truck. When he asked about this, he was told they could not 'scrub' the car and suggested he needed to go elsewhere for this issue. After they had charged him $30! Neither he or I will be returning. Used to be my favorite carwash in Charleston, but the service has dropped off a cliff, the facilities from the restrooms to the waiting room are just filthy, the garage bays are littered with trash, load rap music is blaring and 10-15 teenagers who couldn't care less are aimless wandering around txting giving each vehicle minimum attention. The drive through wash has some issues as well with sprays not working as they should and just general disrepair from what appears to be lack of maintenance. Didn't think that this place could get any worse since my last sub-par review . . . until I went through yesterday and they "washed" (?!) my car WITHOUT USING SOAP! While my car was going through, I kept waiting to see soap being sprayed onto the car from the sides or from above. Instead, just water. When I approached someone about it, I got "Would you like to send it through again?" For what? Another no-wash rinse?! This, along with the hour wait to have the car vacuumed and dried by a group working at a snail's pace, is enough for me to swear off of ever returning. Avoid this place! Today's experience was not a good one. I bought the $27 package, which they added an extra $3 for an SUV and I also got a $2 discount. This package came with an exterior wash and interior clean. The disappointment was at the end. During the final inspection of my car, I had the final person wiping my car down wipe down at least 15 bird poop lines off different areas of my car. That meant to me that the other workers only wiped down the car and didn't pay attention to detail. I'm glad I did a final walk around, but there shouldn't have been that much missed. Last, as I drove away, I noticed that my windshield was very 'hairy', meaning the rag or towel they used to wipe it down stayed on my windshield.
