This is a great store. It's salt water only, but the owner is clearly passionate and knowledgeable, and was really pleasant to me (despite my being new to the hobby). He even gave me a great deal on some LED lighting I was looking at. It's a shame they don't do freshwater, but for supplies, tanks, and lighting, this is now my go-to store. read more

We stopped in here today on our trek to the Asian market. My husband used to keep saltwater fish (which is all they sell here), and I wanted to go in and take a look. We met the owner and his son, who were both very friendly and knowledgeable. The son literally took us around the entire store and told us what everything was. Apparently saltwater tank technology has come a long way since my husband had his tanks 10ish years ago, and it is going to be much easier than he thought to have a salt tank again! I asked a ton of questions because I know next to nothing about saltwater fish/tanks, and they were so patient and kind in answering my questions. They know their stuff and it's obvious they just want to share their passion with all of their customers. When my husband and I are bored, we go to fish stores and Liquid Kingdom is our favorite. My husband has been a regular customer here for many years and has always had a great experience. Tom, the owner, and his family are all super nice and helpful. They take great care of their fish and won't even sell you anything unless they've had it for a week or longer. Additionally they are always willing to help when we're trying to figure out what's going wrong in our tanks. When we went on vacation a few months back, we asked Tom if he would help if something went wrong with our tanks while we were gone. He was willing to come to our house in the event the fish sitter didn't know what to do. When you go in, look for the fat puffers. Deborah, Tom's daughter, has a habit of taking very good care of those guys. We adopted one that was too fat for his tank. He came with the specifications that we call him Freddy, we feed him claims and we don't let the other puffers pick on him. That's mostly to emphasize that they really do care about their fish. I'd highly recommend visiting this store even if you don't have salt water tanks. Their tanks are beautiful and every time we go in, we something different. Oh! There are these really creepy worm things in a bow front tank on an end cap. They will follow your fingers if you wriggle them slowly in front of the glass. They creep me out but I love seeing them! read more

Simply put, I love this place. The ambience isn't necessarily great, but that's because they put more effort into having knowledgeable staff and taking great care of their animals. This is a store with saltwater animals only, do not go here if you want some goldfish. With the staff here, it is easy to ask questions about starting a tank, space needed for specific fish, "what the hell is that thing?", etc. Prices are reasonable considering how healthy and balanced they keep their tanks. If you don't care about that, be my guest and go to Petco; enjoy your parasites. As a bonus, I still remember that the most beautiful Midas blenny there ever was once lived here at Liquid Kingdom. read more

Worst customer service ever I get people have bad days but this is unexceptional.... I bought a fire shrimp for 35$. I also had my water tested at the time. My tank has been running for along time but when I put the sheimp in after acclamation it immediately died ... I had to nearly give an arm to get them to replace it. The new one died aswell. Now they will not do anything and said can't afford to. I hope they go out of business and stop selling sick fish would give 0 stars STAY AWAY read more

Wow! Very disappointing. Algae on the glass of most tanks that blocks the view. It looked like they hadn't been scraped in two weeks. My daughter said the floor was sticky. Salt creep all over the floor. Equipment and tanks piled higgledy piggledy on the floor. No prices on any tanks, instead there is a folder with a price list. It just generally looked run down. On the plus side the people were friendly. read more

Tom and his staff (aka his family) answered all of my questions when I was a newbee, and Tom even lent me some of his equipment without charging me. He just trusted that I would bring it back and that's pretty amazing in my book. When my fish were sick they walked me through everything that I needed to do and it helped me save a few hundred dollars worth of livestock. The store may not be the prettiest, but if you are a saltwater hobbiest then it shouldn't matter to you. At Liquid Kingdom you get amazing service, and I will be buying my next tank for my basement from them. I've been to all of saltwater stores within 20 miles of my house and this is the only place that hasn't pressured me in any way to buy anything. This is the best place to go in North Denver for any of your saltwater needs. read more

Red cyano all over the place but the older dude that assisted me and rang my order was super homely and generous. I'd go here to support a family business but the red Cyanobacteria is a deal breaker for me I'll go here for certain things but not livestock and they have the best prices on corals! I saw some they're for 10 bucks! So if you have a quarantine tank definitely give this place a try read more

Overall I've been impressed with the staff at most marine specialty fish stores but the team at Liquid Kingdom is unsurpassed in both knowledge and customer care. Many times I've gone in for a specific purchase having left more knowledgeable and excited about the hobby than I when I went in. You can tell they really care about their livestock and are passionate about the hobby. My only complaint is the tanks really aren't that clean (which is why I'm giving 4 stars and not 5). Most of their tanks have algae and the lighting doesn't pop the fish or coral colors like I would have hoped and salt-creep is prevalent in the store. I also spotted aptasia in one their tanks and bubble algae in a few. However, their livestock always look beautiful and healthy which in my experience is worth far more than a clean-looking tank. Before I buy livestock from a store I check every tank in the store for sick or dead fish. If I see even one dead fish, I'll leave and usually not come back for months. I've never seen a dead or dying fish at liquid kingdom which is unique for Colorado marine fish stores I have visited. While I always quarantine fish I purchase from any store, I've never had a problem with any fish I've purchased from Liquid Kingdom. Anyway the prices on livestock, food and equipment are competitive. But its the health of their livestock, staff hospitality & knowledge that keep me coming back. read more

Being a marine aquarist I have sought out all I can find in the metro area that cater to the hobby. There are alot of good places around but these are just the nicest people you'll ever meet, always helpful and it seems they are some of the blessed few who dig what they do, and it shows. The store is very nice and they've always got an interesting assortment of creatures to look at, even if your not into the hobby if your nearby it's worth popping in just to see the amazing critters. They are one of the few stores that will allow trade ins, they have to quarantine your fish for a time to ensure it's health and then they offer store credit for it. If your in the hobby you'll appreciate how nice it is to be able to find a good home for a critter that's getting picked on or maybe the one doing the bullying whatever the case may be. They only do salt water aquaria but they do it very well! read more
