The manager Lisa, is so rude to me every time I go in with a coupon she always makes an excuse of why she can't use it. What is the point of sending us coupons if we can't use them. She always has an attitude and has a rude face every time I'm there. If she doesn't want to work there she should just quit instead of directing any negative energy towards me every time I'm there. She wouldn't even let me pick up my order one time because she didn't let me. We recently adopted a new dog and this store has been a life saver. When I last visited I realized they have a rewards program, a pet wash, and grooming services! Their location is clean, organized, and their staff has always been friendly. Figuring out the needs of a new dog has been challenging and their staff has always been patient when answering all my questions. They've made great toy recommendations in regards to our sweet plush-destroying pup. When picking up dog food late one night their staff walked me to my car and help load my items. Have brought my pug in for several grooming appts since last Oct to help get her nails trimmed back and always have an amazing experience. The staff is always warm and welcoming. And my older pug always leaves happy, smelling great, teeth and ears cleaned, and nails trimmed (she's a little difficult in this area which is why I've been bringing her to groomer, they have help get her nails trimmed back to a normal level). I'd highly recommend they truly love on your babies. read more

Horrible manager/owner. Every time I go in just for a simple nail trim for my two dogs it's a complete hassle. Records not updated ever. I gave them all shot records and every time they don't have them on file. I called and tried to make an appointment and they said come in no appointment needed. I get there and they tell me no time and come back. Also they don't have my shot record AGAIN!!! The groomer was in tears the way this mean little manager/owner must have treated her prior and the way she treated me made her more upset. Why would you work at a store when you obviously hate people and animals. Never again!!!! read more

First of all, I very rarely do reviews. A business must be exceptionally good or bad for me to leave one. Unfortunately, my experience AFTER visiting this store today made me never want to return. I bought a bag of cat food at the Thornton Pet Supplies Plus store today and went home. When I got home, I noticed I had a voicemail from the store cashier associate saying I needed to come back to the store to pay an extra $12.98 or it would come out of his paycheck (it is against federal law for employers to deduct losses from an employee's pay if the employee is not earning minimum wage after the deduction). Before calling the store back, I looked at my credit card activity to make sure my card had a pending charge of $50.97, which is what the cat food cost. It did, and I confirmed the cost of the food plus tax on their website. It was exactly $50.97, so I had no idea why the cashier was calling me on my personal cell number saying I need to pay an additional $12.98. I called the store, and there was no answer. I didn't leave a message because I didn't think I needed to waste any more of my time on this as I correctly paid for what I bought. However, about 10 minutes later, the cashier called me again saying I needed to return to the store to pay the extra $12.98. I said there is no way I owe the store more money as I paid exactly what I should have for the food. The cashier says, "Well, my manager said..." At that point, I asked to speak to the manager. After a few minutes of being on hold, the manager comes on and says I still owe $12.98. I told the manager there is no way the cat food is more than I already paid. I told her if I bought the food on the website right now for pickup, it would be exactly what my card was already charged. The manager says something like "well, it could be different because of discounts, etc." I go back and forth with her for awhile saying there is no way that this 18 oz bag of food is $63.95. Then she mentions two pet food bowls. I say "What are you talking about? I never bought any bowls. I only bought the bag of food!" The manager says, "I'm going to check the security camera footage." I say, "Go for it. I'm the customer with the horizontal striped shirt with my teenage kid." The manager makes me wait on the phone for about 5 minutes while she goes through the camera footage at the exact time of my purchase. She says something along the lines of, "I see you now. You have the bag of cat food, you pay for it, and then leave. The next customer in line has the two bowls. It was a computer glitch. Sorry about that." I accepted the apology, but this whole experience has made me never want to shop at this store again. I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, a lizard, and fish, so they will lose a lot of potential future business from me. Why didn't the store do their research and review the camera footage prior to contacting me? I should have never been contacted, had to explain myself, and help them figure out their error. Additionally, the question remains: What would have happened if they didn't have the security camera footage? It would have been my word that I didn't actually purchase the pet bowls against theirs. Would they have called law enforcement on me to pay for something I never even bought? I really hope they don't call the next customer in line who bought the bowls asking them to return to the store to pay the $12.98 for a mistake on the store's end. What kind of business does that? I worked for Petco as a teenager and in college. If a Petco associate (or computer glitch) made a mistake by not charging something properly, we would NOT call the customer and ask them to return to the store to pay the difference. It would have just been a loss (shrinkage) for the store. Are you going to pay back the customer for their time and gas to drive back to the store to pay the difference for the store's mistake? I understand losses are a bigger deal for smaller businesses, but wouldn't it be better to take the loss of $12.98 for the store's error in order to maintain future business profits (and get good reviews) from that customer? read more

DO NOT COME TO THIS LOCATION! They will scam you; been going to wheatridge pet supplies plus for months; $26 has been the cost for my 15 pound dog. I come to this location they charge $43. The lady did NOT clean my dogs ears at all; I stuck my finger and a chunk of black stuff came out. Not sure what this owner is thinking trying to charge almost double and they not even clean my dog. Never again; save yourself the headache and just drive to the wheatridge one! Please do not shop here. The cats are being neglected and look very unhappy. I'm An animal lover and I cannot stand to see these beautiful innocent creatures suffer. I will be escalating my claim higher up: when my fiancé and I came in here twice they couldn't find us in the system so the guy at the counter said he would use his name instead. Then he zoned out: he looked dazed and confused. I mentioned how angry I was about the cats not being taken care of and his response was oh dude your not the first person to complain. I said well why isn't anyone taking care of them: he said well we don't we have workers that come in and do all that and they kinda just work whenever they want. Wow. This is unbelievable. We've been in here 3 times and each time has been worse then the previous visit: one cat (kitten) has basically been living in its litter boxX if you can't take care of them then surrender them to the aspca or humane society where they at least have a chance: I have volunteered at shelters and I know that runny cat feces is a sign of a sick cat that Likely has a parasite or infection. ( worms) etc. take care of your fucking animals before your business goes under. read more

Great place for all your pets needs! I love that they have natural brands and their prices are very fair. The dog wash facilities are great, saves me from cleaning my bathroom! The only thing I don't like is that they sell small animals. All in all I love coming here! read more

Well anytime you try and contact them they do not respond. Somehow Lisa Hoffman ( Management) is always on break and literally never gets back with you. I have also tried and emailed them where they have responded before and NOTHING. Its BS and I need my money back now. I don't know about the rest of the store but the grooming department is horrible. I had made an appointment a week earlier just to have my dog washed. When I got there they told me there was a four hour wait. I left. Then I got an email saying my following grooming appointment had been canceled with no explanation. I'm not sure what was happening when they got bad reviews. I have a large order once a month. Curbside pick up. I love it! I occasionally go in for special items during the month. Maybe I'm just lucky I haven't had a rude employee or a bad experience. I love the discount offers when you sign up with them! Especially the 25% one saves a lot of money when your 3 labs need special food! They will even special order what you need so you can be sure they have it on hand! We stopped by for the first time. We notices that they had cats in the back for sale. The kennels were dirty smelled and some of the cats didn't have water.The liter boxes needed to be changed. I can't stand to see animals in a pet shop but even worse they are not being cared for. read more

We have five dogs and three of them were groomed at pets supply plus in July. Grooming was adequate. October, we sent the other two for grooming and I've never seen Worse grooming than those last two in October. First they tried to say that they didn't have our appointment but we have text messages from them confirming that appointment. When we took them in everybody was looking at each other like deer in the headlights, but they took the two anyway. those two little dogs were there for six hours and when we finally got to pick them up, their hair was so choppy. Hardly groomed at all nails were not done and they were a mess. When I called back to cancel the other three that I was going to have groomed again, I explained how disappointed I was and that the total grooming was not complete. The girl that answered the phone said OK we got them canceled. Did not try to ask any more questions did not try to offer to make things good just OK thank you goodbye was all that was said not very good customer service. So my five dogs that need groomed regularly will have to find another groomer. Very sorry because that is a very convenient location for us. read more

You know what is bad for business? Opening a brand new store and hiring rude staff that brings your reviews down from the start. I took my dog in for grooming today and the girl who went to check my dog in was SO rude, I immediately walked out. No way do I want her grooming my dog with an attitude like that. I'll go back to my old groomer who is super friendly and caring. When I talked to the manager about it, he shrugged his shoulders. Wow. We are there every week getting treats for our dog. Never again. Sad to see a small business perform like this when I enjoy supporting small business'. It will be their demise. Groomer also claimed his rabies was expired but neglected to see it was a three year rabies and not a one year. He is a working dog, he gets three year rabies. Customer service here is much needed. I had an appointment at 10am on October 4th for my puppy to have grooming completed. My appointment was schedule about 1 month ago. After arriving at the store with my puppy, I was informed that I needed to bring my puppy back on October 5th at 8am to have the grooming completed. I was not asked to reschedule my appointment, nor did I receive a phone call informing me that they had no groomer on site to complete my appointment. One employee stated she was fired and the other said she didn't show up. The store opened at 9am and they did not inform me until I arrived at the store. Having a busy day planned, I had no intention of returning home to drop off my puppy. This was a huge inconvenience for me and no one even apologized. I called the manager at the store after I left and he offered no resolution. The groomer we saw at this location previously was phenomenal with my puppy and that is why we returned. I'm very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and communication this store lacks. read more
