My favorite art and the cool decor
    Kimmi H.

Faith was so helpful and friendly and made us delicious espresso and an oat milk maté latte! Great outdoor seating and diligent indoor mask policy for these wonky Covid times. Check out my photos to see some of the rad art on display that you can buy and take home with ya!

Iced Americano w/ cream, 16 oz drip, blueberry muffin, double chocolate muffin, & ample outlets for getting work done!

Love their for-here mugs and jars! Amazing work space w/ ample outlets, and friendly staff :) I also really like that they don't just give you a straw when serving your drink. So many folks carry reusable straws with them now, that coffee shops shouldn't just put a straw in every drink. Liquid Planet is doing it right! No straws needed please :)

Anytime is a good time for donuts & coffee!!

A great coffee house in downtown Missoula! Stopped in one afternoon for a snack and left completely satisfied. We had heard that they stock a certain local gluten free donut (doctor's orders for us) and we went a hunting! It was later in the afternoon so they didn't have quite the selection left (understandable) but still had some yumminess to chose from. The dough was made with applesauce, so the donuts were super heavy and dense (not the best, but still good and about the only choice for GF donuts). I had a delicious chocolate cherry one, while my wife had a plain chocolate one. The cherry topping made it for me; I could live without the plain chocolate one. Drinks were great! Had a plain pour over decaf and a mocha. Great fresh tasting beans that made for an overall great coffee & donuts experience! They also had alcohol available and we got a bottle of bubbly to celebrate a special event. Friendly staff and good customer service around! Certainly will return should we pass through town again.

Breakfast Burrito and a purple rain smoothie

Wanted a smoothie and maybe a small breakfast sandwich/burrito. Found liquid planet online and walked there from my AirBnb which is in the 500 block of E Pine St. After a quick walk I walked into the warm and inviting place. My order was swiftly taken and the customer service was awesome; even asked me what I was up today! I sat down with my smoothie, which was delicious! The breakfast burrito hit the spot. I watched the barista interact with her customers in such a pleasant way. She clearly had an established relationship with many of the people that came in; remembering the orders all the way down to how many sugars. Very impressed by her attitude and work ethic. I will definitely return.

Great coffees at a great price. Wide range of teas, coffees, wine, beer, cider and specialty pops. We have never had a negative experience here, the staff is friendly and helpful. Also, this (see photo of genius move)

Great place downtown for a quick 'pick me up' cup of coffee. It's smack dab in the middle of downtown so grab a cup then head out to do your shopping. Well, that's what I do, anyway :)

It's a huge hangar type space filled with locals bustling in for their morning coffee. My typical way to know if I'll like a coffee shop is if their cappuccino is only offered in one (or two) sizes. Black Coffee had that-BINGO. Delicious and perfectly made. My only regret is not buying beans to brew at home.

(525) is worth a stop for the building alone--that curved corrugated-metal shell, the tangle of Edison bulbs strung across the high ceiling, and a sunny little patio out back make it one of the more distinctive coffee spots around. The service was friendly and quick. I ordered at the counter and had my drink in hand in no time, with genuinely nice folks behind the bar. The menu has some fun, unexpected touches too--the mint cold brew is a standout you won't find everywhere, and it's refreshing without being gimmicky. The pastry case is where they really shine. House-made bialys, savory danishes with coconut greens and pork belly, sweet danishes with black tea and roasted rhubarb, plus a rotating lineup of cookies and tea cakes. Everything looks like it's made with real care, and the bakery side (Grist) clearly takes the craft seriously. One heads-up: there's no WiFi. If you're hoping to post up and grind through a few hours of work, this isn't the spot for it--plan on a shorter visit or bring a hotspot. For a quick, high-quality coffee-and-pastry run, though, it's a winner. Come for the architecture and the mint cold brew, stay for the bialys--just don't expect to get much emailing done.

The pastry case is impressive with a huge selection of pastries, bagels, and goodies, including massive pies that are hard to resist. Coffee and tea options cover all the standard classics, plus some fun twists that keep the menu interesting. The coffee is good for the area but nothing outstanding. The space itself is large with plenty of seating options, and it never feels overly crowded, which is a big plus if you want to sit and relax for a while. Unfortunately, the service has gone downhill. The baristas used to be incredibly friendly, remembered drink orders, and made you feel genuinely welcome. Lately, it feels rushed and impersonal, like you're just being pushed through the line with little acknowledgment. The experience has been very hit or miss, which makes it hard to want to return regularly. Overall, amazing pastries and pies, solid drinks, and a great space, but the inconsistency in service is what keeps this from being a frequent stop for me anymore.

I also really appreciated that they offer several vegan options. I ordered the Creamy Blue Smoothie and the Banana Walnut Oatmeal. The oatmeal was absolutely AMAZING--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and easily one of the best breakfasts I've had here. It's the item I'd recommend to everyone. The smoothie was good overall, but the fresh mint was a bit overpowering and left an aftertaste for me. I think it would be even better without the mint or with less of it. I also appreciated that they use compostable straws, although mine was cracked when I unwrapped it. Later, I came back for lunch and ordered the half Brussels Caesar Salad with the vegan protein. The vegan protein (chickpeas and lentils) was delicious, and the half portion was surprisingly large. I also liked that the dressing came already tossed throughout the salad. One thing I found a little confusing was that the Brussels Caesar uses a vegan dressing but is topped with cheese, so I'd be curious what substitution is offered for guests ordering it vegan. The bread was good, although the butter was served very cold and was difficult to spread. A few suggestions that could make the experience even better: * Add a larger "Basal" sign above the entrance to make the restaurant easier to spot. * Install a large wall-mounted menu inside for easier viewing. * Keep tables and chairs wiped down throughout the lunch rush. The restaurant was spotless during breakfast, but by lunchtime several tables and seats needed cleaning. Given the price point, I'd expect a bit more attention to dining room upkeep. Overall: good atmosphere, friendly staff, and good food. I recommend the Banana Walnut Oatmeal.
