    cool sink

Most of the time, only larger cities can support a cigar lounge, so we are fortunate in Murfreesboro to have a place like Liquid Smoke. They have a good selection of cigars, properly stored in two humidors. The main humidor is for standard cigars and the smaller is for flavored cigars. Decent beer selection including Fat Tire, Yazoo and other microbrews. The barman can help you with both selecting a cigar and selecting a beer. Atmosphere is cool and laid back. There is a bar and lounge chairs, depending on your mood. No live music the night I was there, but there's hip background music on the stereo. The men's restroom is something worth checking out. My little camera could not do it justice. The fish in the fish tank are cool, the sink is one of a kind. Well, maybe not but I've never seen one like that. Anyway, if you are at Blue Rooster or just in the mood for some hookah or cigar action, check it out. It's worth it.

This is one of my favorite places in Murfreesboro to get a beer! My buddies and I went to The Humidor right next door to Liquid Smoke, grabbed some cigars, then went to Liquid Smoke to grab a few beers after work. We were greeted with great customer service and great drink options. They have beer options that a lot of other bars in Murfreesboro don't offer. We were able to come in, relax, smoke our cigars, and drink our beers. They also have games inside if you like to play games while you drink. The place has an awesome vibe to it. Liquid Smoke is very welcoming. I am also glad that they allowed me to vlog while I was in there. I will be returning for sure.

This is THE spot! If you haven't been to Liquid Smoke, you're missing out on a gem. Expansive beer selection and great cigars! Cozy and quiet place. Come say hey to Walker, the chillest dude this side of the Mississippi!

A great place to hang out and unwind. It's funky, relaxed and chill. I'd have to say it's one of my favorite spots.

For those warm nights they have a decent outside area as well that you can smoke a cigar or have your drink.

We had read somewhere that Acme Feed & Seed (in an historic 1890 building) offered a quieter alternative. We gathered around a nice table near the stage on the first floor, and maybe there were a dozen other people there? Yet, on the next Broadway block things were in full swing? We weren't complaining, but wondered why? The first floor at Acme has been described as a high-energy "Funky Tonk" atmosphere featuring a main stage for live music, a large bar, and fast-casual dining. Our band during our stage was even a little different than that, and what an enjoyable group is was! The Mudbug Stompers brought us the sounds of old-time jug bands, Dixieland jazz, blues, trains, baseball, and crawfish boils. Although this is a Nashville Band, we could have easy been on or around Bourbon Street in NOLA. I was particularly impressed with the trumpet player and the lead singer who played a mean mandolin. Add the string base, sax, and fiddle, and we experienced a very impressive whole. We were highly entertained and engaged, and we're still talking about the experience!

Visited U&I Restaurant and Bar and had the pleasure of meeting the charming Heidi (one of the…read morefamily owners) who took exceptional care of me. Even though she was the only serving staff for the evening, she was always smiling and a joy to talk with. This place has a diverse menu, there is no "cooking at your table" available at some Korean places. I started with the Shumai (steamed dumplings) and ordered the La Galbi along with a Kirin Ichiban beer. These dumplings are an amazing surprise...normally expect shrimp dumplings to be overpowering with the taste of shrimp, but not these. The seafood flavors were light, allowing you to taste shrimp and the other ingredients in the dumpling while a little "dip" into the sweet soy sauce made for an awesome appetizer. The La Galbi...marinated and grilled Korean BBQ beef short ribs were so good, you could taste the sweetness of the marinade, and the meat was so tender. There were several slabs of the short rib and along with the sides was a huge meal. You also get a few different sides like Kimchi (light heat), pickled Daikon radishes (slightly sweet and crunchy), Gamja-salad (slightly sweet Korean mashed potatoes salad), and Korean fish cake (kind of bland for me).  While not a "patio" they do have a dining area that when the shutters are opened, gives it a patio feel...overall the place is nicely decorated and comfortable. The food here is done really well and the service was great; I will be back again to try some of their other dishes like the Jjajjang-Myun and Bibimba.

I have debated whether to write this review. Based on other reviews, I suspect we visited on an…read moreevening where something really bad had happened. However, I think it is important to share our experience. I made a reservation for my family of four to celebrate my wife's birthday. I had heard great things about the restaurant, and we are always on the lookout for new places to try. We arrived on time, and were immediately seated. The person that seated us commented, "I have a very nice table for you." Water was provided for the table right away. And then, nothing. We were not given menus. It was several minutes before we even saw any server at any other table. As we looked around the room, we could see there were other patrons who were also being neglected. A couple sitting at one table nearby had menus, but no one took their order. After about 15 minutes, a young man came by the table and asked if we were waiting for our orders. We told him we had not even been given menus yet. He said, "Oh, I'm so sorry! I will get you some menus." He left, but never returned. Finally, my daughter, who is a server at another restaurant in Murfreesboro, went to the front desk and asked for menus. She was provided menus and told the restaurant had several employees "call out" for the evening. We looked over the menus and discussed ordering some appetizers, but no one ever came to take our order. The couple I mentioned earlier finally decided to leave without ordering. As they made their way to the door, an employee apologized to them and told them if they would stay, they would take their order. Meanwhile, at the table behind us, food was delivered. One of the patrons at the table remarked that the dish they ordered was supposed to have chicken, but there was no chicken in the dish. The server apologized and said -- I'm not kidding -- "I can go to the kitchen and get some chicken, and you can add it to the dish." At this point, we decided to leave. As we made our way to the door, the person that seated us noticed and asked if we were leaving. We told her we were, and left. I normally would not leave a negative review based on a single visit, but this experience was possibly the worst I have ever had anywhere. I hope this is an isolated incident that occurred when the restaurant was experiencing an extraordinarily bad night. I would like to give U&I another chance at some point. If I do and the experience is better, I will update this review.
