But it's one of those liquor stores where the emphasis is on huge bottles of cheap, hard liquor and 24-can cases of cheap, warm beer. The spirits section is a good three times larger than the wine section. At 7:00 in the evening, the other customers were already shitty-drunk and there to reload, except for the guy in the Turkey Trot sweatshirt who was there to purchase a pack of Camel 99s. I was there to grab a couple of bottles of vino, and as for the wine selection.......let's put it this way: There was a decent bottle of Argentinean malbec shelved just two bottles to the left of the Boone's Farm Fuzzy Navel (which looks like fortified Gatorade). On the plus side, the wines carried by my local supermarket were a good couple of dollars cheaper at Liquor King, but that's not going to make me forget that they're also a couple of dollars cheaper at Trader Joe's, where the selection is better. This struck me as slightly surreal: The Pakistani-looking gent behind the counter complimented me on the wise choice of the malbec. "That's a good bottle."

I was in the self checkout lane, scanned my groceries and selected the pay now option which I have done hundreds of times. I then tapped my card and was directed on the screen to "please wait" and then began that dreaded "circle of death". I waited several minutes and then thinking the "pay now" button didn't work I pressed it again, and again and again - at least three times. Look folks, this was an EASY fix. When I called for help the guy snapped at me while pressing the "pay now" option that all I had to do was "press the button". I tried to explain that I had already done that several times but it didn't work which is why I called him over for help. He snapped again arguing with me that I couldn't have pressed the button and that's all I needed to do. Why did this matter? Why are you ARGUING with a customer? Why are you trying to make me look and feel stupid when that is NOT necessary! He continued arguing with me and me repeatedly saying "I DID press the button it didn't work I called you for help not to get yelled at why are you arguing with me?" This was COMPLETELY unnecessary. I did speak with the manager who said he would address it, but this situation was completely avoidable and completely unnecessary. Be kind people, and when someone asks for help just help them don't make a big deal out of it. Customer lost now for good!

I don't know where to begin. This place has pretty much everything you want, selection, pricing, and a very educated staff. They really should bring the Liquor Barn chain back again, and open up these kinds of warehouses along the freeway. They will price match almost everyone, and they beat or meet the price of Bevmo, but in my case their prices were already lower than Bevmo's. I encourage everyone reading this to visit the Liquor Barn you wont be dissapointed. oh and if they don't have what your looking for, most likely no one else in town probably has it either. :) read more

There's a living room area with fireplace, a dining room, a front porch with a cafe table & chairs, and big front lawn with Adirondack chairs in pairs & quads. Truly a choose your own pleasure! We couldn't pass up the perfect late spring afternoon, so I sunk into a deep Adirondack chair and enjoyed my wine tasting al fresco. The neon sign in the front window is the cutest, and just added to the overall vibe. Chuck was so hospitable, and brought me each pour from his post behind the bar inside. He gave insight into each wine, and then disappeared so I could enjoy at my own pace. MFC is very dog friendly, inside too, but I can't think of anywhere I've been in recent memory that was more perfect than wine tasting here on the front lawn with my pup in my lap. I feel comfortable with the easy-going jokes and smiles by each one of the employees, and they seem to really know and connect with their customers. If you go a few times, they remember you and greet you like family! The last time I went, the woman behind the counter was explaining an incident that happened just down the street where she had gone out of her way to save a dog trapped in someone's truck, and she kept going outside to check on the dog until Animal Control came. They keep their eyes out on their surroundings and really value each individual. I love them and am happy to have found it!
