This place deserves more attention. I love coming to Damen and I'm surprised I didn't know about this place. They have an amazing beer and wine selection going. The people who work there are really nice as well. At the time we went there, there was a beer tasting happening. We got to try an IPA called Launch Juice. Normally I hate IPAs, but this one didn't have a strong IPA flavor so we bought a pack. We bought their Launch Juice and S'more beer. To me, the s'more had a thicker consistency and is definitely a stronger beer but rich with flavor. My partner said it tasted like a shot so take my review with a grain of salt. This is the most amazing place to get great bottled beer in Wicker Park and Chicago in general. Tasting with Arcade on a Friday, hell yes. A bottle of Pipeworks Citra, mm hmm. Pipeworks Wills Super Awesome New Rad Saisonathon from the cooler, why not? And a bonus beer to go with my Darkhorse tres too-boot! Truly the place to get your BYOB booze when dining around Milwaukee and Damen in Wicker Park. They do have wine, but I will need an excuse to stop drinking good beer to check that out at this spot. Liquor park is a small, locally owned and run liquor store. The owners are very friendly and knowledgable, and they have a wonderful selection of beers and hard liquors. They are always ready to chat and help you find something that matches your taste. I can't say i've been steered wrong by them when they have helped me try something new. My only gripe is that they don't have much to taste in store. Sometimes you don't want to shell out $60 for a bottle of bourbon if you have never tried it. I realize they are small and and probably can't have a bottle of everything open, but I'm not sure i've ever seen any open bottles at their store. And i know of a few other local shops, that are also small and privately owned that do have things to sample. So if they need to change anything it would be that. Don't let the outside of this place make you think it's not amazing. Because it is. I decided to check it out solely because of the name. Liquor Park. In Wicker Park. Get it?! As soon as I walked in I was greeted and asked if I needed help finding anything. In today's instance I just wanted to browse so he left me alone which I appreciated. One of my pet peeves is when I say I'm good and they keep bugging you about what you're looking for. There are a ton of options for beer, wine, and liquor. Tons of unique options and my personal favorite part was the labels that went along with the prices. Clever things like "Have a bottle of this in the fridge for special occasions. Like Tuesday." (That's the bottle I went with haha.) Prices are also anywhere from very cheap to pricier so they have a pretty wide variety. Highly recommend! read more

I think it may have been the owner we encountered, but the dude working here was everything you'd ever want in a liquor store guy. Super friendly and knowledgable of every product. Covered craft beers, wine, ciders, and didn't even pass judgment when we enquired about about the hard seltzers. Just smiled and presented what he had. We left with a tasty Mexican cream ale for a get together and an additional list of other stuff we have to try in the future. Liquor Park is a small shop, but you'll get some excellent attention here. Kinda like a personal trainer for you wine and beer pairings. read more

Liquor Park recently opened (transitioned from Life's a Cabernet in the same spot) and we had been going there for some time before the transition. It is a small neighborhood liquor store. For a small spot, they have a great selection of beers and wine in a range of price points (many wines are under $20). They also have some select liquor options. Plus, if you like something, they can also try to order it for you too. The perks are the free tastings and the customer service. There are generally free tastings on most weekends and they also generally do other specialty tastings. Janel is fantastic and has learned our palate during the Life's a Cabernet days (she is a Sommelier and is one of the owners of Liquor Park). She knows our favorite wine and is great at offering recommendations when we want to try something new. Paul was also very helpful when I stopped in to pick up some artisan beers to do a beer tasting with out of town guests. I am a non beer drinker but the crowd was very pleased with the results. As with most smaller, independent stores, there is a small markup in the prices when compared to the big box retailers. However, it is worth it for the customer service and supporting a local business! read more

For a small store, there's a lot to find here! Plenty of solid beers to be found in two refrigerators when you walk in and there's another fridge in the back with some chilled wines. My visit was a simple one... (b)rosé to pair with some tacos, of course. Paul approached us and picked out a nice chilled bottle for around $15. Perfect! This is a great local liquor store. They have an excellent selection of beer and always get special releases in. They also have some great bourbon and an extensive wine selection. I wish this place was a little closer to me, but otherwise, it's swell. A small space, but nicely laid out, with a tremendous selection of beers and a good choice of wines and liquors; it's only been around for a year, but it's become a must-stop when we're in the neighborhood. Great little shop. I was able to find unique beers for myself and cocktail booze for my wife. Paul assisted me with finding something similar to St Germain, there were a few options.
