Honestly, I love coming to Binny's because of all the different drinks they have here whether you're looking for regular drinks or alcohol or beer. I used to frequent the South Loop location but now that i'm no longer in that area, I decided to finally check out this location and I can definitely say that this location is amazing. The parking lot is fairly large and the Binny's itself is pretty huge. And as always, prices are fantastic. They have a "tasting" room all the way in the back where they host events - i think you can also grab a drink there as well. This is the biggest Binny's I've ever seen, and probably the biggest liquor store I've ever seen too in fact. The main room is enormous, with tons of wine, beer and liquors of all descriptions. Their high-end spirits and wine rooms are awesome to look around too. But don't stop there! The next room i all champagne and other sparkling wines. Super cool! Then there are tasting and class areas. Then after that is their indoor beer garden. the place just keeps going! In non-COVID times, the beer garden is awesome and gives you a chance to taste a bunch of different and rare beers. It's close now due to the pandemic, however, which sucks. Absolute garbage customer service at this Binny's location. I'll never come back. I engaged with three different associates, and every one of them acted as if I was a total burden. Needed some orgeat and could only find one huge bottle. I asked a guy who was about 10' away. Here's how that conversation went: ME: Hey, I was noticing online you had some other brands and smaller sizes of orgeat, but I can't find them. Can you help? HIM: You've got the wrong location on your phone. You've got Lakeview. This is Lincoln Park. ME: Oh, okay. Sorry. Must have tapped the wrong one. HIM: Yeah, the other brands will be on the shelf right next to the one you found. If they aren't there, we don't have them. ME: Uh, okay. HIM: (gets back to his real job) I managed to find another brand on my own, thanks bro. The guy in the wine department at least tore himself away from the computer long enough to point out a particular bottle I was after but couldn't find, but not without a snide comment about how it was RIGHT HERE; and a tone that suggested I was worthless. Which, you know, I probably am. Cool, thanks bro. The woman at the checkout was clearly miserable. I bought an extra measuring shot glass - which I had to wrap with protective green netting myself because she needed to get back to a pressing conversation with another employee at checkout. The glass would be next to a bunch of other glass bottles in the bag so, I figure a little protection couldn't hurt. Generally when you buy even a single piece of glassware at any store, they'll wrap it for you in something. Here? Can't be bothered. Pro Tip: Have a sign at the door that says "If you can't find what you're looking for it's probably because you're a moron." LOL read more

I always pick up beverages and other supplies for my son's business so I visit Binny's Beverage Depot on a regular basis. Each time, I am more than pleased. The Lincoln Park neighborhood store is very easily accessed. Just off of North Avenue, they provide a spacious parking lot. It's quick and simple to get in & out. Inside, Binny's has a fresh new look. It's been updated and is attractive and bright. It has the same layout with new floors and paint. It is still so spacious and offers great displays for sales or specialty items. I'm always greeted as I enter and exit. That's a nice touch. The floor staff are in abundance. I never have to search for someone if I have a question. Check out is a breeze. They have changed they layout here with the renovation and it really works. One queue leads to several cashiers. A man called me over and took out my heavy items for me. The cashier was so friendly and helpful. She made small talk as she efficiently rang me up. She also asked if I needed assistance to my car. Shopping at Binny's, I know I will find what I need at great prices in a spacious and attractive store. I also know my business is appreciated by the kind and professional staff. read more

2020 has definitely been the year of stocking up on whiskey and wine and Binny's is definitely the easiest place to go for the widest selection and best deals. Apparently for the hard to find whiskeys they have some sort of waiting list you can get on, but it seems difficult from what I hear (or rather read from Reddit). The last time I went I was specifically looking for a Ridge zinfandel and they just happened to have a whole display for Ridge wines, it was meant to be. They also have a pretty good sake selection for a big store liquor store. Better priced than Mitsuwa for sure. They need to stock Dassai though. read more

Binnys is a great place to get beverages. BUT go there in person. Don't even think about getting delivery. They use Instacart, one of the most customer-unfriendly services around. Instacart drivers (the male ones) act like real d***s. Today, a driver wouldn't bring the package inside my apartment. He was at the door and wouldn't come in. So I called Instacart customer service. They said they would send a replacement order. The next driver did bring the package inside. But then wanted to scan the barcode on my driver's license. The barcode contains, among other things, your social security number and your traffic records. No reason for Instacart to have that info. In the past, the driver would enter my birthday manually. This driver wouldn't do that. So he took my order and left. I called Instacart customer support, and they refused to explain WHY they needed my SSN and traffic records. SO, go to Binny's! What can one say about Binny's that hasn't already been said? Its the 400 pound gorilla of Chicago's booze retail landscape, but they still have great prices and massive selection. The original home of Sam's is one of the Binny's I regularly frequent. They have a strong whiskey selection, lots of craft and imported beer, wines for miles, and a gigantic Champagne room. There is also a cheese and charcuterie station, with a solid selection of cheese and cured meats. Saturdays and most Sundays wine and possibly beer and booze is available for tasting. If free liquor has not sated you, venture past the Champagne room to their airy and inviting bar and event space where you can sip cocktails and wash away any doubts you had about buying that $300 Bordeaux or Single Malt you were eyeing. read more

Binny's is so terrific. They're all like a Costco for alcoholics. This location is probably my second favorite that I have been to (the one in South Loop on Jefferson is terrific). I don't really drink liquor (although my sister found some rum drinks that you freeze and then thaw, and she loved them). But it's the beer, oh the beer. All the beer. I don't think there's a brewery in Illinois that isn't represented here if it cans or bottles its beer. Certainly every brewery in the Chicagoland area is here. They have an entire aisle for each region of the country and two for Illinois/Chicago. The choices are almost endless. They even get a lot of West Coast stuff that you can't get other places in the Midwest. The employees are courteous, helpful and generally knowledgeable about their products. The store is spacious and clean and everything is very reasonably priced. And Binny's locations have their own parking lots, usually fairly spacious ones, so you don't have to worry about how to drag a case or two of beer back to your car. Yeah, this is a must-stop if you want to snag some drinks to have for your stay in Chicago. Try beers from Revolution and Maplewood, just to start with. read more

I visited Binny's today and had a wonderful experience. I was greeted by a worker named Violet who found someone who helped me find the perfect bottle of wine. She also provided me with two T-Shirts and other gifts as souvenirs when I informed her that I was from Oklahoma and looking for Chicago memorabilia. As we were leaving, she ran out to our car to give us the souvenirs. By far the largest Binny's location I've been to in Chicago. Excellent selection from liquor, to wine, to craft beer... they got just about everything imaginable in stock. This location has a pretty big parking lot so no need to worry about paying or looking for street parking. And also has an entire section dedicated to champagne. After browsing through some pics, I just noticed there's also a tasting room just beyond the champagne section. Dang this place is huge. Anyways, be sure to sign up for a Binny's membership to get sales price on sale items (it's a free membership). You know when you find that special spot.... That little nook in your guy's arm you want to curl up inside of.... Or that killer angle for taking your hottest selfie.... Maybe it's that special ingredient you needed to make your sous vide steak perfection. Binny's in Lincoln Park is all of that for me. Does this show I have problems? For sure. But do I give a flying hoot? Heck nah! This Binny's is an adult's candy store full of everything and anything you could possibly drink that has even the smallest dash of liquor in it. I think I spent 30 minutes slowly going up & down the craft beer aisles trying to take it all in and attempting to limit myself to buying just a few things. I did pretty well on this first trip just buying 2 bombers, 2 6 pack and one mix & match 6 pack. They have a fabulous collection of craft beers, domestic sludge and some fun international beers, as well as malt beverages and hard fruit drinks. It's pretty cool because the beer is divided by region but that also made it a bit more confusing in finding certain things. Also, there were some things in their advertisement such as a mixed 12 pack of Deschutes that was supposed to be on sale but was nowhere to be found. Most of the store seems to be made up of wine & hard liquor so if those are your things, then there are a ton of selections for you. It ain't mine, so I didn't pay it much mind. There is a huge, really cool section they call the Champagne Depot, which is really more of a Champagne ballroom because it's so big. I have some girlfriends that love the bubbly so I know where to go now to get them some special fizzy stuff. If you walk through these rows upon rows of bottles, past the champagne room, you come to the crowning jewel of this Binny's which separates it from all the rest. Their amazing taproom. The tasting room at Binny's is in a massive area which was formally Lincoln Park Pumping Station built in 1905 and has been completely renovated. This is not a normal tasting room...it features RARE craft beers. I had two flights of beers I had never tried before and each flight of 4 was just $12. One beer that was in my tasting of 8? Goose Island's very sought after Bourbon County Barleywine 2013. Delicious and totally random that it was on tap. I was such a happy girl that I could not stop gushing! To boot, the bartender was such a nice lady! She was eager to help and answered all my questions. I was sad this space could not be rented out because I thought it would be amazing for various events. She said they do host special Binny's events in the taproom though. The tasting room has prohibition newspapers blown up and framed which I found fascinating, as well as old wooden beer crates and barrels. The decor goes really well with the wooden table, over-sized comfy brown chairs, wood paneling and flooring & insanely high ceilings with brick everywhere, even brick inside of a drain pipe up high. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and just felt at peace hanging out here. If you want to sit outside in the fresh air, they even have a sweet patio to relax on. I will begin here, I have been to two different Binny's locations both have been spot on. I was looking for a particular beer that released last month. I searched everywhere. Finally, after extensive searching I found it. This location in Lincoln Park was the go to location. I placed my order for in store pick up. Waited for my email for in store pick up. Once I got there, I was greeted as soon I walked in. Very clean location. Hands down of the best Binny's I have been too. Friendly staff. The in store pick up was a smooth transition. The store is fully stock with everything you could possibly need. I found some items I haven't seen in other stores. I am glad I made the trip to this location. Thank you. Binny's is honestly the best. If it's not there you shouldn't be drinking it. The prices are always extremely reasonable and it more often than not the item that you were looking for, at least for me, is generally on sale. They also throw really awesome events such as the Game of Thrones event, donut pairing tasting, or just the general tastings they have around the store. Anytime we need help locating an item the staff there is always more than willing to stop whatever else they are doing and help, when ordering kegs they make it an easy breezy process and call promptly once it is available, overall this is just a great store with superior products, prices, and staff. read more

Hands down the best liquor store in the whole world in my book. It has the largest champagne room in the world. It has a lovely and spacious bar in what I believe was a factory previously. This store on Saturdays has lots of wine tastings going on. The staff are so thoroughly helpful. I am starting to build a collection for my 2 yo for when she turns 21 yo and they have certainly been so very helpful to me. Their prices are better than most other places in town. I come here more for the wine (firstly) and beer (secondly) than the liquor so cannot speak to the prices of that. I am usually here at least one Saturday afternoon a month with my 2 yo and 3 mo daughters in a stroller, so I think they know me by now. Secret hint: this is a great play space as well. Is it wrong that I stop here sometimes twice a week? I remember when I use to go to Best Buy too much and hang out...this location is starting to become that new place! First I must throw a shout out to Aaron the store manager...he is a great guy and it is always fun to talk about alcohol or anything with him. Tonight I stopped in for some of my new favorite German Beer and the shelf was empty. It was on sale for an amazing price at Binny's, so I understood why it was gone. Aaron turned to call his guy who was coming out of the back and he had a two wheel dolly of the beer I was looking for. Talk about customer service...how did he know I needed that beer? Aaron is that good! He had only 3 cases left and I took 2...which were delivered directly to me at the customer service desk. Did I mention I love this place? Recently we discovered the deli area in the back of the store. I had no idea that this existed until a few months ago and if you have not gone back there then you must check it out. The meats are really amazing and recently we picked up some of the Spicy Green Sicilian Olives and all I can say is WOW!!! My wife wants the recipe for these...hint hint...Aaron!!! I was able to try two olives before the container seemed to just disappear. I will not point any fingers at who ate them all but I think it was the lady who wants the recipe...hint hint!!! This place has everything you could ever want in a liquor store...it is huge and there is so much selection it is just crazy what they have in stock. If you can not find it here, then you just need to give up or you could probably have them order it for you. Tonight when I walked in I was greeted by Jimmy Russell the Master Distiller who makes Russell's Reserve Bourbon from Kentucky. He makes small batches and he was nice enough to share some of his bourbon with me. What a friendly guy and what a pleasant surprise to get to meet the man who actually makes the bourbon. Jimmy was also nice enough to invite me down to his distillery in Kentucky to see the whole process...I love southern hospitality. Hopefully, one day I will get to take him up on that invitation. That leads me back to Binny's...you never know what is going on in here! From tastings to celebrity sightings to one of the most amazing selections of alcohol on this side of North America! This Binny's is so big it is visible from outer space...I can not confirm that but if I ever go to space I will make sure I look out the window to verify that!! I am going to call that my "Future Fun Fact"! Incredibly disappointed with Binny's Lincoln Park. We are hosting a graduation party and ordered beer and wine for delivery. THEY CHARGED US $70 FOR DELIVERY, EXACTLY DOUBLE WHAT WAS QUOTED TO US! When I called to inquire why the delivery charge was so high, they were unable to give any good reason (other than that they were ripping us off) and were unwilling to make any accomodations once brought to their attention. With so many other liquor stores out there, why would I want to spend my $ at Binny's?! VERY uncool. We will no longer support a business that would use deceptive practices like this!
