We got the big brown bag with two flavor mix, cheese louise and double drizzle (dark and white chocolate). Regular flavors are $11.95. Double drizzle is a premium for $2 more. They have the popcorn stored in containers. I'm not sure how long the popcorn has been in there, but the cheese ones were stale. The double drizzle still had a crisp to it due to the sugar coating. The popcorn was overpriced and not fresh.

This year, we decided to switch things up and parked in Ferndale instead of our usual spots in Royal Oak or Birmingham. As always, the cars were the stars of the show, but I want to tell you about something else that made our day especially memorable: dinner. We stopped at Cynt-Sational E.A.T.S., located on the corner of Woodward and Breckenridge, right across the street from The Fly Trap. Cynthia, the founder, owner, and cook, opened the restaurant over the Fourth of July weekend. She previously operated Cynt-Sational E.A.T.S. from her unmistakable pink food truck, which has become a familiar sight around Detroit. If you have ever been to Eastern Market, there is a good chance you have seen her there. From the moment we walked in, Cynthia greeted Tee and me as though we were old friends. She had a warm smile, a wonderful personality, and an infectious cheerfulness. We enjoyed talking with her before we even placed our order, and that genuine friendliness continued throughout our visit. One of the things I really love about Cynt-Sational E.A.T.S. is that everything on the menu can be made vegan if you choose. I ordered the loaded nacho for $15, prepared by Cynthia herself. Instead of the usual meat, I chose lean, savory kosher ground turkey and white corn chips. I topped it with freshly made sweet mango salsa, cheese, fresh cilantro, black beans, rice, white onions, and freshly made guacamole. And let me tell you, this was not your average plate of nachos. The portion was enormous, easily enough for two hungry people, and the flavors were absolutely incredible. Every bite had something different going on, and the combination of the mango salsa and guacamole was fantastic. Saying the nacho was delicious would honestly be an understatement. I am still dreaming about it. Tee ordered the Po' Boy with oyster mushrooms instead of Gulf shrimp, wild caught salmon, or fried whiting. Her $15 sandwich was dressed with savory coleslaw and fresh tomato slices. After taking one bite of her sandwich, I immediately started questioning my life choices. Those fried mushrooms were so dang good that I almost wished I had ordered them on my nacho instead of the turkey. Tee's Po' Boy was so generously sized that she could not finish it, but somehow, between the two of us, there wasn't enough food left over to justify taking anything home. That should tell you something. Even though we were completely stuffed, we could not leave without buying a bag of Cynt-Sational Popcorn, The Detroit Mix. Cynthia also makes dill pickle and firecracker flavors. We have been enjoying her popcorn for about a decade. Whether we have purchased it from her booth at Eastern Market or picked it up at Whole Foods, it has been a favorite of ours for years. And there is plenty more to choose from. If you are looking for an incredible meal, you can order a 10 inch burrito, quesadilla, the aforementioned loaded nacho, tacos, including street tacos, elote, or Cynt-Sational Wings. The wings are halal and gluten free and come in three varieties: Original Crunchy, Cynt-Sational Special Sauce, and Honey Garlic. They are available in orders of 6, 9, or 15 pieces. You can also get seasoned fries and desserts, which vary daily. But as incredible as the food is, there is something else that makes Cynt-Sational E.A.T.S. special. The people. Cynt-Sational E.A.T.S. is family owned and operated by Cynthia and her sons, and their warmth and kindness are every bit as generous as the portions they serve. They genuinely make you feel welcome. You are not just another customer walking through the door. You feel like someone they are happy to see. We could not have been happier with our choice for dinner. There are some parking spots (1-hour limit) in front of this and surrounding shops but there is also a public parking lot (free) behind all those shops. I parked in the parking lot and it was fine.
