I was referred to her by a PT that had seen her and had found complete relief of his symtoms after a handful of visits. Everyone will be different with how they respond... I have been seeing her since Dec '10 somewhat regularly. Dr Lindsay has put me on a path to recovery from my issues in a way that none of my other doctors ever have (I have had neck pain for 20 years that was relieved after the first visit- it still comes back but the frequency is dramatically decreased). She has a very gentle touch but dramatic results. I really don't know how she does it or how to explain it to other people. After having chiro's twist your body unnaturally into painful positions what she does is incredibly subtle. I can do things now that I haven't been able to do in a long time, and without injuring myself every time. I swear she is magic... I also sent my teenaged son to her for curvature in his back and stiffness in his hips (he couldn't bend over at the waist). After one visit he increased his mobility significantly and grew an inch! He has seen her a handful of times- his physique is completely different- and normal now. He thinks she is magic too... She is a very kind person, a great listener, amazing healer, and fosterer of holistic care. She makes great referrals to other doctors when she believes it may benefit your overall health. She approached our daughter with such gentle and kind care and made sure to always put her patient first. My experience with Devorah has not been positive, but that doesn't mean yours wouldn't be…read more I came to her as a highly complex case with multiple severe long-term health issues. She recommended three treatments in one week, and for all of them I was on the table 45 minutes or longer (I believe one was an hour and a half). When I inquired as to the ideal frequency of visits I was told that coming in as often as possible is best. After the third visit, my health crashed with incapacitating symptoms of overexertion. I also began having significant breathing trouble from an ongoing throat issue that Dr. Steinecker had been fully briefed on in our first meeting. After several hours of throat wheezing with each breath I made contact with Dr. Steinecker, calmly communicated what was happening, and was advised to "talk myself down" and counseling was the recommended treatment. I now see a different cranial osteopath. The throat/breathing issue also happened the day after my second treatment from him. Rather than assuming psychological origin, he made various physiological recommendations that relieved the situation and has since identified the problem. Also, he finds that half an hour every 2-3 weeks is plenty and is extremely cautious about over-treating any of his patients. I solicited a third opinion from another cranial osteopath who agreed the treatment I received from Steinecker was far more than *any* person ought to be given at once, let alone someone in my state. Devorah is a humorous, easy-going, compassionate doctor with skilled hands and significant ability to sense exactly what manipulation is called for and where in order to alleviate pain and other issues. It's mind-blowing, and if that's all you need then you may well have a satisfying experience as her patient. However I required a higher degree of sensitivity to my body's limitations and a more scientific approach than immediately passing off confounding issues as psychological problems. Then I decided to send my daughters, because we were not happy with the treatment options they were receiving at Pediatric Associates, who just wanted to throw drugs (steroids) at my daughter, instead of trying to resolve the issue. Plus, I wanted my children to experience what it was like to be with a doctor who cared about them and really listened to their concerns. Most recently, we lost our insurance, and had to take my youngest daughter in for an infected toe! The bill at the end was something I could afford, and was worth every penny! They insisted on charging a $25 fee to get a signature because the doctor needs to take time out of their day for a signature. Absolutely ridiculous policy. I do not recommend this place.
