Can I choose zero stars? I'de like to. Not one to complain much but my wife went here twice since it was the cheapest place in town. The first time wasn't too fun but she figured it was bearable since it was about 1/2 the price as other people around town. They were rude to her and paid no attention when she told them they were being too rough and hurting her. This happened the second time as well. A gaggle of laughter went around the room when she started to tear up because of their roughness. Just 2 days later her nails were sticky and unfinished. She had to get the refinished on our vacation. When she went back to get a partial refund to explain what had happened the lady berated her in front of all the customers and yelled her out of the store. I honestly don't know people like this stay in business. If it weren't for their low prices they wouldn't be. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere that will actually value you as a customer. read more

I used to enjoy going to Lisa's and usually had a good pedi. But I am so tired of hearing Lisa & her husband & staff screaming at each other in Vietnamese I'm never going back. I waited 20 minutes for a pedi and the water was already cold. I got up to leave because I had other appointments to make and Lisa SCREAMED at others to make sure I didn't leave - it was all about keeping those chairs filled. So for starters I was there before they opened. They are supposed to open at 9:30 they did not show up till about 9:50. Then I waited to get my nails done for about 20min the guy did a good job on just the acrylic took to long and the color of my paint is Awful and not what I asked for at all then had to go to someone else to do design at that point I just got up and paid then left at 11:10 to long and they don't listen to what you really want. read more

I took my daughter to Lisa's and it was OK. The guy that was doing my pedicure did a better job than the lady that did my daughters. My daughter looked like she painted her nails herself. She had nail polish all over her toes even going half way up towards her foot. Next time I will take her to the beauty school. It will be cheaper and hopefully we will help them achieve their training faster. read more

My daughter and I each had an appointment at 11:15 . Several people walked in after us without appointments and were told which chairs to sit in when I mentioned we had an appointment we were told they would get to us in a few minutes. We were put in chair soaking our feet foe over 20 minutes more before someone started to work on us. Our feet were prunes by this time. Each time someone walked in the door ( which was several times in a few minutes) the lady working on me would stop what she was doing to bark out " how can I help you" she was extremely distracted by this. At one point a women who had left a few minutes before came back in for a touch up and the women working on me stopped and spent at least 10 minutes fixing this other woman. When she returned to me she forgot she hadn't done one of my feet!! The women working on my daughter at one point left her for at least 20 minutes to wax some other women who was a walk in without an appointment. This had to be one of the most irritating pedicures I have ever had! I also need to mention the salon is very big with several chairs and too many people crammed into it. Went with my girlfriend today for her birthday, and we both got the deluxe pedicure for $40 a piece. It's a bit pricey, but is definitely worth it. I was happy they were open on Sunday's since the other 3 places we tried in Sonora were closed, and I was beginning to worry that part of our birthday plans would fall through. We were seated right away but the chairs quickly filled up, so an appointment might be the way to go if you're pressed for time. They immediately offered us either water, tea, coffee, or soda, complimentary of course. The girl working on my horrible feet was both courteous and attentive. I'm very ticklish in my feet and she made sure to not go overboard on the sensitive areas, only laughing along with me a couple times. My girlfriend almost fell asleep during her massage. They had a wide variety of programs on their 4 TVs (including my favourite, food network) and free wifi, so entertainment was not a problem. I accidentally left my phone at the chair. When I called them, they asked me to call the phone to make sure it was mine (very professional), and held it for me until we were able to make our way back there to pick it up. My friend and her mom have always loved going here for manicures, pedicures, and to get their eyebrows waxed. It was their favorite place in town, but none of us will ever go back. My friend's mom went here to get her eyebrows waxed and apparently there was wax on the pillow from the last person who was in there. The lady couldn't get it out with the paper towel so she grabbed some scissors and cut her hair without consent. We didn't go there for a while after that. When we did, there were three of us and we all wanted pedicures, my friend and her mom needed a fill and color change, and I needed a new set. When we came in they weren't too busy so we decided to stay. After a while, they had a bunch of people walking in the door and rather than asking if they could come back in a half hour or so, they just kept on bringing people in. They would jump from customer to customer and overall did really sloppy work. My friend wanted a design on her big toe and the one that she got was nothing close to the one she asked for. She went to the table to get her fill and the lady didn't file her nails down evenly. The lady who painted my nails didn't get the color on my entire nail for a few of my toes. When I was getting my new set, the glue they were using didn't work very well apparently because three of my nails weren't glued down all the way. I was cut on almost every finger because she was working so fast. None of my nails were the same length and when I asked her to put a third coat of nail polish on because the color is pretty thin, she gave me major attitude about it. Her mom just got her pedicure and decided she'd get her fill somewhere else because we were already done and she knew that she wouldn't be happy with what she got. To give this place a one-star is a stretch. While the people were nice, the service was by far the worst service I've EVER had and it took an hour and 45 min. On the deluxe manicure, I had to actually ask them to cut and file my nails. I left with dirt still exposed under my nails and I didn't even feel comfortable asking them to paint my nails not knowing how that would turn out. I used to go to Lisas a long time ago and unfortunately it's hit or miss with who you get. I went back to give them another chance and definitely regretted it. I showed Kim a picture of wha i wanted and the color was nothing like I wanted. She never asked my shape or length, just assumed I wanted long coffin shaped nails because apparently that's what ever girl in their 20s want. So I had to ask her to shorten it many times. She made multiple fingers bleed when I told her they were already weak as it was. I asked for 2 of the nails to be painted with glitter polish and she said "No only 1 nail" when the lady sitting next to me almost had every nail a different color. When she started painting I almost said you know what, forget it, keep them clear and I'll paint them at home. Plus she kept leaving my station to go finish some pedicure behind me. So many things I could go on about. I can tell you that I will go back to doing my own nails and not go somewhere where they're just trying to get the most money out you possile. read more

I thought I'd have a great Mani/Pedi Spa day with my daughter & even spent a little extra to get the special pedicure that included a massage. It began waiting forever, our foot & hand soaking water was cold & had nothing added to help soften the skin. "Callus remover" part of the treatment took 5 min for them to figure out what we were talking about & ended up meaning a very short slight scrub with a slightly rough sponge! When clipping my cuticles instead of being clipped they were pulled more then clipped & I left with multiple areas of skin hanging off. While drying our nails under the lights they came over & said we were done, need to come pay now! And proceeded to take my disposable flip flops off which You usually walk out in! And I then saw one of them take someone's used dirty disposable flip flops and put them on another woman!! Wow should have followed my gut & turned around & walked out! Makes we worry about what else may have been used without proper cleaning or joule but be reused! read more

This may be long... I had read many negative reviews about pedicures at Lisa's Nails. I get my fingernails done by Quinn and have had wonderful experiences. Thought it was time to try a pedicure. Walked in at 11 am. Got a chair right away and was lucky to get Le. I purchased the #3 package for $33.00. When supplies were brought out I checked to be sure they were clean. Tools were in autoclaved bag, the foot soak thing was covered in a plastic one time use wrapper, water filled and it was a wonderful soak. Le was attentive, careful and the leg massage was WONDERFUL. Le also was able to put up with my very ticklish feet. Nails trimmed, lotions rubbed, hot wax, hot stone, more massaging and a light coat of clear (my request) polish. I am very happy I did this and will definitely go back. Maybe things were different there in the past but I found it all to be very clean and efficient. read more

You never know what type of service you are going to get when you walk in. It could be great, or it could be bad. Be careful who does your pedicure because some of them do a terrible job, while others are ok. Try to go during slow times because if you go when it's busy they will rush your service and not do a good job. You'll sit down wanting a $40 pedicure and end up getting one that's worth $20. My first time visiting this establishment and my last. Went in @ noon on a Sunday and they were pretty busy, but I got a chair within a few minutes. However I sat there with my feet soaking for 30 min, and in the meantime they starting working on a lady that came in after I did. I kept thinking I would get served any second and I didn't want to make a scene. My pedicure turned out ok, but I was late for an appointment by the time they got done. Overall I was totally unimpressed, the place wasn't really that clean. What is it with the salons in this town? This place is HORRIBLE!!!!! It was the speediest most unrelaxing pedicure I have ever received in my life.The lady who did my pedicure literally touched my nail with the cuticle scraper, didn't even use it!!! Like seriously?! Because you touch it with the tool, that counts? Place is dirty, dirty, dirty. My two year old daughter could have done a better job painting my toes. Paint only on two thirds of the nail and all over the skin. Also, don't bother to call and make an appointment because they don't exist here. Just recently moved to Groveland from San Jose. I work in Sonora & everyone I spoke to recommended this place for eyebrows. I am VERY clear about how I like my eyebrows but since I went months without threading, I decided to chance it and let them wax mine. BIGGEST MISTAKE! I have been told by many people that have done my eyebrows that I have a perfect shape and the length of them is perfect. So I go along and tell Lisa where to wax and she says ok she will do how I like and repeated to her that I have one eyebrow that has hairs that go up instead of the same direction of the rest and just to trim those ones instead of waxing too much and shortening my eyebrows and leaving me with eyebrows that start at the middle of my eye. I felt her plucking in the spot I told her not to wax too much off of and immediately knew she f***ed up. When she was done, one was longer than the other, they were thin, and completely all wrong. I have been here twice, and neither experience was pleasant. The first time, we ended up sitting with our feet in cold water for about half an hour before we were attended to. The staff were loudly bickering amongst themselves, and when one of the employees left to deal with a customer the woman doing my friends nails was quick to start speaking poorly of the woman to us, calling her crazy and saying she didn't know what she was doing. Homegirl, I want nothing to do with your workplace drama. An elderly man ended up doing my pedicure, and he spent a large amount of time rubbing my calves, and asking every few minutes "Does it feel good?". It did, but I think I made that clear the first three times I reassured him. When I went here to get my nails done they were absolutely disgusting towards me. I was told over the phone that walk ins are welcome, so I came in and asked them if they could do a full set and they said yes then I was told to sit and wait which I did. I sat and waited, and as I'm sitting there about 4 or 5 more walk ins arrive and yes they were walk ins they had no appointment I made sure to find that out so I wouldn't make a judgement and look stupid. Anyways 4 or 5 more walk ins arrive and some ask for full sets and they get seated immediately. At this point I was waiting about 30 minutes and while I was waiting, the girls who worked there gave me disgusting looks, ignored me when I asked how much longer the wait would be, and would walk past me and refused to look at me or speak to me. For whatever reason I still thought it was worth it because I wanted my nails done so I continued to wait quietly. Finally I was seated and I show the girl a picture of the shape and design of the nails I liked, and she said she could do it. I would never recommend this place to ANYONE!!! I will NEVER go back there either!! I have been there a total of 4 times hoping each time would be better than the last and just thought that maybe they were having a bad day like everyone else sometimes does. That is not the case. All the Asian ladies were yelling in Chinese back and fourth to eachother across the building and yesterday the Lisa lady got mad and started screaming in front of everyone at another worker. It was embarrasing and I felt bad for the chinese lady who got yelled at. These people double book, triple book+ appointments and will say anything to get you to go in. They are always in a hurry to finish and all 4 times I had a pedicure, it was sloppy. My toe nails weren't even all the way painted and I asked for gel as the top coat and she told me no. She said that the clear coat was better and she would do 2 coats. EXCUSE ME?? Its my money and I want a gel layer over the top!!! I didnt get what I asked for because she was in such a hurry. I paid $35 dollars for a pedicure and got crap. When my feet were dryed to get my toe nails painted, you could see all the dry skin not removed. None of the massage function on the chairs worked because there were power problems and some chairs were broken so they said no. The water didnt even run either. They had to go to another business and borrow hot water and bring it back in buckets. The water got cold and my feet were not rinsed in clean water. I can go on and on but Id rather not waste anymore time on this business.... Just know it was terrible and overpriced for the service offered. Went to have a pedicure and the woman that worked on my feet was rude, racist, and judgmental! I was being very kind, because I like to think the best of people, but she seriously put any dirt from under my toe nails (because I do hard labor outside) on TOP of my foot, not on a towel, and then proceeded to make snide comments about my feet to her coworkers. They might think most "privileged white" people that come in are "wealthy" and clueless, but I understood perfectly well what they were saying in their own language, though they assumed I couldn't understand. Granted I went in during a busy time to have a fill and one my nails fixed that had fallen off after only a week of having them... I would recommend paying a little extra and going to a more upscale salon... In my opinion I felt I was treated unfairly and that my nails were rushed because it seems all they are about is money and getting to the next customer.. I will be going to a better quality salon because a personal experience is everything to me and I'm getting tired of all of these "chop shops" taking my money and messing my nails up and treating me with annoyance when I point out something they are doing that I don't like, I had to ask for an extra top coat so that my nails would be smooth (French white tips) and they charged me extra! I know some people love Lisa and this salon and my advice to Lisa is to let her employees know that all of her customers deserve the same quality and respect that she brings to the table. I went in for a gel manicure. The woman doing my nails spoke no English. She put the acetone on my nails along with the cotton and the clips. Then without so much as a glance, she got up and walked out of the store....She was gone several minutes... I started looking around...I tried to get someone's attention that worked there with no luck. It was crowded with most of the stations full. None of the workers would make eye contact with me or acknowledge me. She then came back into the store carrying take-out, walked past me without looking my way, and disappeared into the back for 10 more minutes. I finally got the attention of the staff member in the very next station who told me she had gone to get something to eat. No kidding! I've never had someone leave MID SERVICE to take a 15 minute break! Then she came back, made no eye contact, grabbed my hand and started up again.
