I just had a bad sewage leak in my garage, on a Sunday evening, and they sent someone out within an hour to fix the issue and clean up the mess. They are transparent, professional, and largely function as a well greased company. I've been a renter of theirs for a few years now and West Coast functions a lot like a well established large corporate company. A lot of functions, communications, and maintenance is done online and very streamlined. Unlike other large real estate companies, West Coast actually follows through very quickly, and adheres to local laws and regulations. Such as notice for water shut offs, repairs on the building, and general upkeep.  Melissa C manages many properties in SF and is extremely prompt with her responses and solutions. She's been great to work with and is the great reflection of the company's promptness and professionalism. Rent increases are transparent, billing/payment is simplified and easy via their online portal, and questions are answered promptly. Maintenance requests are often done the same day or next day, and employ local contractors that swing by extremely quickly.  As a renter, simplicity, reliability, transparency, and communication is extremely important and they've set a high bar for me if I ever have to move elsewhere. Inventory and location seems well varied and expansive. I wouldn't hesitate to reach out to West Coast to rent from them and can't recommend them enough.

Initially he was kind, and offered to show me properties I am in my initial stages of buying and looked at other properties on an online website, zillow. He called me after he saw I was looking at those websites, angry, and said: Kevin: "you never called me to confirm our appointment, so I cancelled our tour" Me: "But I messaged you confirming, I thought we were all set"" Kevin" Um, well, it looks like you are looking at other agents, so I no longer want to show you property, and find yourself another real estate agent" Me: "All I did was click on an online property to see it as I was looking at all options, i don't know what I did wrong." At that point, he hung up on me, with a statement he would text me other real estate agents. He may have anger issues, as he never did message me back. Beware of this real estate agent, he trends between angry and happy, if you are ok with that level of bullying. In my initial stages of looking, he offered nothing but sorrow and meanness.

Unethical behavior: (See pictures). She posts 15-20 ads on Craigslist that *all* say "just rented" within minutes or hours of their being posted. Some are clearly pictures from properties that are not hers (I had seen them up for people finding a roommate in months past), and at higher rent rates than they's been for. My guess is that she is trying to show landlords that she rents things quickly / for high prices. Charges high fees to renters: If you aren't okay with a $3,000 - 8,000 broker's fee (1-1.5 months of rent), you'll get chewed out. Only one other broker in all of San Francisco charges that (Kenny & Everest) and their public reviews are poor too. Maybe they are trying to capture the NYC business, thinking that those renters won't know that pretty much only NYC has a broker-fee commission structure. Please, landlords. You aren't saving money by making renter's pay for a broker. We're not going to rent from you as quickly, so you lose out on rent. Terrible Communication: Screenshots attached. See Yelp too. Website: Says all you need to know. No listings on the site, just a bunch of links to call her. likely because she doesn't have clients -- she seems to finds apartments on Craigslist and claims that she reps them. The 1990s faxed, Mazal. They'd like their website back.

All were really nice, within my price range and in my desired location; I actually liked most of them! Even this part would have been impossible without them: I mean, most places don't even take dogs. 2 Even if I could have done it, it would have been a full-time, heart-breaking job for a month. The coordination work Kristine did alone was worth it, and she helped me persevere as places appeared and disappeared frustratingly within hours. 3 I would never have recognized the deal-breakers Kristine did. She never pushed or nudged, but she saw things I just missed. Signs of an unrepaired leak; a cracked window. 4 The landlord was a real stickler, demanding an unusual amount of paperwork from me. Kristine was super supportive as I gathered and sent and re-sent everything, and waited. A year later, there have been only pleasant surprises. Nothing triggers my allergies. My neighbors are awesome. It's a great building. This also is something Kristine predicted on the basis of little things she observed when we visited. And it means she was listening to me, and really knows the city and its neighborhoods. Another thing: back last year I called another rental broker before I settled on San Francisco Relocate, and they turned me down, saying what I was looking for couldn't be done. I respect that, but ... they were wrong.

I found SF Relocate through Yelp and read the positive reviews & recently met another busy professional who used them to relocate from Honolulu too, and he shared his positive experience. I sent them a message via Yelp advising of my relocation date & apartment needs & received a quick reply. I chose to view the apartments on the first Saturday after my arrival & focused in the northeast quadrant of SF (Pacific Heights, Cow Hollow, Marina Districts) as I work early hours in the financial district & I needed a quiet, safe apartment with parking. Additional preferences were hardwood floors & gas stove. My agent was Charity, who is super awesome, has great energy & enthusiasm & personality. We saw about 12 apartments all day in both my preferred areas & a few beyond (about 8 hours in total). Several apartments matched my needs in my preferred location but one beautiful apartment in a Mediterranean building stood out with 3 walk in closets & parking, facing the back garden (nice & quiet), gas stove & hardwood floors. Charity contacted the agent expressing my interest & to arrange for an application. I got the beautiful apartment that I wanted & am happily living in it & enjoying the Marina District with convenient & eateries shops nearby. I would recommend SF Relocate to anyone who doesn't want to deal with hunting & pecking for an apartment, combing through listings especially fake postings & understands the cost of convenience & expertise.
