Calling all brides who want to capture the essence of their wedding! I know this review is long but…read moreplease read the whole thing! DO NOT HIRE NY PHOTO & VIDEO GROUP!!!!! Our wedding was 6/27/2026 and I waited this long to post my review because I was afraid of retaliation so I waited until I received my album and video. First and foremost, Joe, the photographer (and owner!!!) looked miserable at our wedding. Didn't crack a smile, didn't talk to or engage our guests. And everyone was talking about it. Sooooooo embarrassing!!! I could accept that IF he had done a great job. However, hired for 7 hours, only produced 784 pictures!!! I stopped counting at 100, but more than 100 of the pics are only of 2 or 3 people and they're all CLOSE UP , literally shoulders up like head shots!!! The worst part is he missed such simple key moments of our wedding day... there are NO pictures of the entire wedding party at the altar. My best friend officiated, I have ONE pic of her during the ceremony and its not even centered. NO centered pics of me coming down the aisle. AND, almost all of the pics of our ceremony were taken from above the head of our officiant...he kept hitting her in the head with the camera strap to the point that she turned around mid ceremony. EVERYONE noticed!!!! Again, soooooo embarrassing!!! And the pics of our ceremony look so warped as they are all taken from above!! NONE FROM THE FRONT??? NO PICS OF THE GIRLS AT THE ALTAR. NO PICS OF MY STEPCHILDREN STANDING UP FOR THEIR FATHER!!! How do you miss that ??? NO pics were taken after the ceremony with the entire wedding party or both of our small families. My husband's kids stood up for us and we have NO pics, not even ONE pic, of them both at the altar with us!!! We have NO full length pics of the wedding party pics and family pics. NONE! NO pics of me at the altar with my train spread out behind me. For our first dance, he took all of the pics from BEHIND us!!!!! Who the hell wants pictures of their BACKS during the first dance??? And we had 2 dips during our choreographed dance, he MISSED BOTH! We did a whole singalong on the dance floor with blow up microphones and there are NO pictures of us dancing and singing...NONE!!! We had a packed dance floor and on the video, you can see the photographer standing against the wall with his camera hanging down. NO EFFORT to capture the fun and the essence of our day. I literally had to take still shots from the video to put together my own photo album. When I went to pick up my album, I was calm and expressed how unhappy I was that he seemed to miss all of the memorable moments of our wedding. Instead of listening to my complaints, his response was "OK! GET OUT! I DONT HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS!" That's how you respond to an unhappy customer????? If I could have him shut down I would. I don't know how he promotes himself as a wedding photographer. I don't believe the pics on their web site or in their studio are theirs. There is just no way it's the same photographer. I gave ONE STAR because it wouldn't let me post this review with 0 stars

Bob at Top Hat is great! He is both the DJ and the MC, and he does a really great job of reading…read morethe crowd and knowing what to do next. I hired him as the DJ at my husband's and my wedding on 1/3/14 after seeing him do a friend's wedding. He did a fantastic job. He played the music we wanted, steered clear of our "Do Not Play" list, and was super affordable. We had him for both the ceremony and the reception and the music for both was seamless and classy. He even played some hip Spanish music for my side of the family! Also, this may sound silly, but he never once told the dancing crowd to raise their hands in the air, sing along, or any of that nonsense that we've seen other MCs do. I was very happy with that. He also really made sure that he had all of our names right, including my Cuban grandmother whose name is a bit difficult to pronounce. He engaged with the crowd but not overly so, and he was very accommodating with my husband's music request, including playing my husband's own mixes, and playing an instrumental version of "Baby It's Cold Outside" for my husband and me to sing at the end of our reception. He even cut if off in a good way when my husband and I laughingly had to stop singing because we forgot the words to the second verse halfway through and started cracking up. I would definitely recommend Bob for your special event. Great music, great price. He even put in LED mood lighting at our request, all at a THIRD of the price of the vendor recommended to us by our venue. We were super pleased with Bob!

He's very relaxed and more than happy to guide you through the process. He talks to you with the warmth of a friend, not like a cold business man. With all of the other stresses we had getting our wedding plans together, it was really wonderful to work with someone that put us so at ease. Bob recommended that we let him know any and all songs we would like to be sure to have. "The more we put on the list, the more likely we will love all the music". Well, my wife took that to heart and came up with an amazing song list. Our list was not only long, but had several different types of music from Big Band (Swing) to 50's & 60's rock as well as modern songs. Bob took the list and arranged it perfectly! All the rite song types/tempos at all the rite times. We had an amazing amount of positive comments from our guests about how great the music was. We also had the opportunity to extend our reception by 30 minutes, which happened only a few days before the wedding. Bob was more than happy to extend his time for us. Bob is also just a great guy. We were married on June 14th 2014, and yet in October 2015 we were sitting in Ferrara's bakery in NYC having some desert, and as we were sitting there Bob walked by and recognized us. I was busy looking at my wife, but Bob stopped to say hello. He's that kind of great guy. He's busy with weddings and events all the time, plays guitar in a band, and all kinds of other things I'm sure. But he still remembered us so long after our wedding. If you are looking for a DJ that is great to work with, and that will make your event unforgettable, Bob Loggia and Top Hat Entertainment is the ONLY way to go!!
