I brought my two kids to Zoot Shoot photography for some pictures...Not only did we have to wait a week just to see the photos, we then had to go back in and order the prints which took another week. So two weeks later we have our prints in our hand. They were nice, but no better than Sears or Wal-mart photography. The best part? They charged us $500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've had my kids photographed at Sears and Kiddie Kandids. Each time, at both locations, I left with a bad taste in my mouth. The photos were bland, uninspired, and in some cases - downright awful. I left Kiddie Kandids crying. It was such a waste of my time. I was rushed, pushed into ordering on the spot, and then was made to feel bad because I was dissatisfied with the pictures - most of which were not centered, out of focus, and featured my sleeping baby slumped over. They failed to capture ANY of my son's personality. What a difference when I saw what Jen at Zoot Shoot did! Yes, her rates are higher, but 100% worth it since the difference in quality is like night and day! Plus, I discovered that both Sears and Kiddie Kandids did the same thing - they lure you in with advertised package specials and then only allow you to choose 1 picture for the package. If you want to use more than one picture they charge you MUCH more. So the price difference wasn't all that much. The studio was bright, CLEAN, and friendly! My pictures are so gorgeous - all I get are compliments! I've referred all of my friends to Zoot Shoot! I'll be a long term client - the portraits I've received are already family treasures! read more

I told my husband that all I wanted for Mother's Day was professional photos of the little ones to replace some older newborn photos that still hung in the hallway. As the day approached, I realized I should've been more specific. You wives/moms will get a kick out of this . . . what I meant was that I wanted him to take the girls and have the photos wrapped up as a gift the day of BUT what I got was a gift card for a family photo shoot aka something added to my lengthy to do list to include pictures of me before I lost all of my "baby weight." You get me. My initial disappointment quickly turned to the realization that we can make a fun day of it in beautiful, quaint Northport Harbor. Jennifer was patient with our rescheduling due to hectic schedules and we finally got to meet her on a warm summer morning. I sensed Jennifer's expertise immediately. She quickly eased my anxieties over the girl's cooperation by making funny gestures, floating leaves in the air and faking high fives all while she strategically snapped photos of our family around the harbor. It was beyond impressive. Her fun professionalism made what could've been a disastrous toddler experience, a playful and enjoyable event. It doesn't end there. After Jennifer compiled the photos, she invited us back to her studio to design portrait layouts of the actual photos on projected views of your home (by texting/emailing her pictures). It was amazing. Our expectations were way beyond exceeded. She captured the laughter, love and warmth of our family and those images now hang in our hallway, stairwell and bedrooms. It may cost a little more than a local Groupon, but trust me, it's worth every cent. We look forward to having Jennifer capture the growth of our family for years to come. read more

I have used Zoot Shoot twice.. Both for newborn photos. Both sessions were done professionally and with lots of patience. The photos are amazing and I'm blessed to have such great portraits hanging throughout my home. Jennifer and staff are great. She also gives great advice and tips on what to do or not do prior to shoot to make sure your getting the best of your time there and a less fussy baby! I would highly recommend them! read more
