DO NOT GO HERE! I brought my puppy in, because he was sick. They gave him antibiotics and also decided to give him boosters. Since I'm not a doctor I didn't contest against the boosters, but in the back of my mind I thought if us humans aren't supposed to get vaccines when we are sick why should dogs? My puppy got worse and worse until I felt the need to take him to another ER (Xmas night) where they gave him X-rays and blood tests and couldn't find the reason to why he was so bad. About an hour later he couldn't breathe on his own. He died that night. Not even 3 months old. After speaking with two other Veterinarians they were SHOCKED to hear that he was given booster shots while sick. Dr. Wright at Lithonia Animal Hospital has either lost their sense or isn't running their business properly. I highly recommend NOT coming here if you want to keep your animal alive. read more

Dr. Wright is the best and I always feel comfortable when I take my fur babies. He takes his time and my babies are always happy to see him.

I stopped going when Dr. Wright would order unnecessary tests without any clear explanation to me (or himself because he ordered a follow up X-ray stating my pet may have cancer and at the results visit he just repeated what he'd told me about slipped discs in the first X-ray! When I explained he said he was looking for cancer he looked at me like I had three heads!) It felt like he was just trying to make money off of me, and it caused unnecessary stress and panic about my pet's health. read more

I have been taking my pets to Dr Wright for more years then I can count. He is an old school, country doctor who genuinely cares about his clients. With that being said he is still very up to date on current best practices. He is far more knowledgeable than previous vets I have been to see. I recently boarded my pets here they told me that all my vaccinations for my pets were up to date and I was good to go. It wasn't until the day my pets were getting picked up that I find out I'm being charged for services without my permission. They gave one of my dogs an extra dose of a vaccine she got a month ago and a heart worm test and fecal that IS NOT required for boarding and also they told me that they could do these things without my permission, I looked back at the paper I signed and it says that they are supposed to contact me first then if I'm not reachable they can pursue. They failed to contact me and still charged me and didn't reimburse me for these things done without my permission. I will definitely be taking my pets elsewhere because I don't feel safe knowing they can do anything to my pets and I find out when it's too late read more

I have taken all my dogs here for years and they have been the best. However the last time I took my dog there (this is a new staff) and they came up with he was not acting good and tearing up the place. He is a small Havanese and has never acted out anywhere. They showed me a copy of his records that someone put warning signs on. I new that was a lie because they had him mixed up with another dog the time before. The other staff did not even know where he was for a while. This is a new staff and I did not know anyone there. I went out of town the following week and boaded him again with another animal hospital and they said he was so sweet and quiet. Someone did something to my dog. Before this, I would always tell everyone how good this place was. I do not know what to do, because my word to others have always been true. I cannot go back. read more

I called Lithonia Animal Hospital to make an appointment for my rabbit. They asked for my address and phone number. I had to take the day off work and drive 60 miles to the hospital because I couldn't find anyone near me who treats rabbits. When I arrived, they said they would have called me to cancel, but didn't have my phone number, and said that the "vet who treats rabbits isn't here today." I was so upset, that I left in tears. There is no way they didn't have my phone number. My inconvenience and my pet's health just weren't important to them. Or was the doctor there and didn't feel like seeing my rabbit. These people are great and accommodating. We got a dog checked out and they really were wiling to go out of their way to help us get a dog checked out. The vet was also willing to talk to me about anything I had questions about. These people communicate really well except they don't have a scanner nor the capability to email you your records. They will mail them as needed if you request them to do so. I really appreciated the care they took with us and the dog we were getting checked out. Thanks! read more

100% worth the trip. One of my dog's tricks is eating grass, throwing it up and getting a blade of it stuck in his sinuses, cutting off his airway. He pulled off this humdinger one Saturday afternoon and there weren't any local vets who had the tools or staff to fix it, except for one that really, really likes money. Before taking him to this hospital, I made some desperation calls and discovered LAH. They assured me they'd stay open for me to make the drive from Vinings. They did.... and about an hour after they'd officially closed, my dog was out of surgery. Afterward, the vet took time to sit down and describe the condition that had caused this situation to begin with, rather than ushering me and my now much-happier dog out the door. The bill came to $180, when I'd paid around $300 to have the same procedure done by a vet in Canton earlier in the year. Turns out Zeke's favorite trick was in his repertoire due to an elongated palate that was occupying most of his throat, so I scheduled a return visit to LAH to get that fixed. Surgery was rough on the lil' punk and Dr. Wright ended up TAKING HIM HOME with him for the night to keep an eye on him. Zeke shacked up with the doc that night and was breathing much better within a couple weeks (and has been ever since). They charged about $800 for the surgery, which was exactly what they'd quoted and significantly cheaper than any other vets I was able to find. They've got some high-tech stuff (including a laser), they stayed open late in a pinch, the doctor took my dog home with him after surgery and they charge less than their competition. If I lived closer, they'd be my dog's regular spot. As it is, I'm making the trip to Lithonia if/when anything major comes up on the dog front. read more

This place is a little on the pricey side but the staff is great. I kid you not, they remember you and your pet's name. Whenever I call, I tell them who I am and Elise will tell me my dog's breed and her name. She says, " Oh yes, the little brown chihuahua named Jayda is your dog, right?". I love them. Chippy is great too, and she has a way with the animals. Dr. Ray is also amazing. You can tell that he loves animals and has a lot of experience. My dog has had two surgeries with them and although I always cry when I leave her with them, I know that she is in good safe hands. They also call the day after surgery to check on her. That is grade A service. They truly have a passion for the fur kids. read more

Okay fellow yelpers, I know it's not even close to being ITP, but Lithonia Animal Hospital is really wonderful. The day after Christmas, my miniature goat, LG, got attacked by two stray dogs (don't even get me started on this one). I knew that LAH worked on goats from some research I'd done earlier in the year, but I was worried they might not be open. Luckily, they were, as poor LG was bleeding pretty badly and seemed to be in shock. Dr. Hill, Skippy and the very sweet receptionist (I didn't get her name) took care of LG right away and went to great lengths to explain all of her post-vet care procedures. The waiting and exam rooms are very clean; I immediately felt that I was leaving LG in good hands. Dr. Hill and the gang are extremely competent and caring and they were there when we really needed them. I cannot thank them enough. I highly, highly recommend Lithonia Animal Hospital. read more

Without a doubt, Dr. Wright is the very best veterinarian you will ever use. Dr. Wright has been my vet for forty years. He has never let me or any of my pets down. You always know only the very best care will be given to your pets when he is your vet. He loves his job and you can tell by the way he treats his human and canine clients. Example of his great work: I actually made the mistake of going to another vet, only because they were much closer to where I live, to have my American Bulldog checked out for a mobility problem. That vet diagnosed Belle with hip dysplasia and recommended surgery. After that diagnosis, I decided to go to Dr.Wright, which I should have done in the first place, for a second opinion. He told me did not have hip dysplasia, she has arthritis in her hip, knee and back. The other vet didn't mention the knee or or back. Dr. Wright also told me he would not recommend surgery now or maybe not even in the future. He thought Belle would do well on medication without any surgery. That was 1.5 years ago and Belle is doing fantastic. She gets a bit stiff if I allow her to play to hard or for too long. Otherwise, she is doing awesome. Dr. Wright saved Belle from a surgery she didn't need and with the right medications, an active and happy life. This is only one example of how Dr. Wright has helped my pets. There are many more examples but, I would recommend you start taking your pets to him and start your own amazing stories. read more
