I planted it anyway with fingers crossed. It's now Tuesday and the bougainvillea is COMPLETELY dead. I called and was told I could get a 50% discount on another plant... :-/ Really? Like I WANT to give you more money for sick, infested plants. NO THANK YOU! I've lived in the valley for 31 years and this is the first time I've ever had an issue planting or keeping something alive.... I wanted so much to support a local, family owned company, but sadly I will never return to give them my business.

In Filipino culture, calamansi is considered lucky. People plant it to attract abundance, place coins and grains at the base for prosperity, and use its juice in cleansing rituals. My mom was over the moon when I bought her one. The staff at SummerWinds were super helpful and genuinely kind. You can tell they care about their plants and their customers. The nursery itself is beautiful--peaceful, well-organized, and full of unique finds. Prices were reasonable. You can also get rewards here if you return again. Great value! It's one of those rare places where you can buy several plants and not feel like you need to sit down and process your bank statement afterward. They also had a ton of great starter plants, which I loved. But my husband found Greenfield Citrus Nursery and we were shocked how quaint and impressive this nursery was. I was following all of the peacocks and chickens cared for on the property. I loved how much care Debbie had for these trees and the instructions she gave us for planting our very own Cara Cara orange. She wanted to make sure this tree had the best survival. Her team loaded the tree into our truck and tied it down for us. The soil was hard and dense aka our local Arizona dirt. We were provided citrus fertilizer for the first year. Can't wait to be able to eat a fresh orange from my backyard!
