That all changed yesterday. I called Confluence Electric, based on their location and their reviews. Adam, the owner actually answered the phone (a rarity) and said he could have someone out to our home by end of day to hang a pendant. He couldn't have been nicer or more professional. He told me that his employee, Leif would be our guy. Leif communicated his timing to me and sure enough was right on time. What a terrific, delightful, skilled young man he is. He was very efficient and pleasant to deal with. Confluence Electric will be our first preference for all our electrical needs from here on out. I will also happily request Leif when I do. I know that we're all a little spoiled buying things on-line directly from manufacturers or wholesalers, so we get spoiled as far as that goes. Product costs we're in line with expectations. I'm ok with paying a living wage to a quality professional and don't mind paying them through break times as long as they are efficient workers, which they are. Labor costs are as expected for the quality & efficiency that I observed.
