How did this man get here... on a dirty city bus with all of these people, who are clearly not as worldly and dashing as he is? That's what the Natural Harvest Food Co-op is like. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't think Virginia, MN, is the equivalent of a dirty, stinky bus. There are hard working, genuine, honest people there. The thing is, they eat at McDonald's and consider "organic" to mean that the chemicals used weren't disallowed by the FDA until the 1990s. Natural Harvest Food Co-op just doesn't fit the profile is what I'm saying here. And, yet. There it is. A natural food co-op in the middle of a small heartland town. It's an anomaly I was glad to find when my family went looking for organic milk and healthy snacks while camping nearby. Five stars for the vast array of choices, the friendly staff, and the fact that it blew my flippin' mind to find it there.

I talked to the table next to me who agreed, in fact like me the lady at that table ate almost two of her tacos before she couldn't handle it any more. I told them I was having the same difficulty. One waiter said the tacos should be more "sweet" not spicy. Our waitress said others had complained today regarding the spiciness too. I stopped eating my tacos, chips and salsa, since I couldn't identify where the spice was coming from. When I asked my waitress, who had admitted others were complaining, about a discount since I couldn't finish my food since the heat kept building in my mouth. She stated I couldn't get a discount since it was Taco Tuesday so the food was already discounted. Not pleased. To add insult to injury the lady at the table next to me made the same complaint and she was offered new food. I don't know if it was because her husband made the complaint on her behalf, and I was a table of one? Very disappointed in service and food. Sadly I drove by Thirsty Moose who has amazing food, but picked Boomtown tonight. Regretting that decision.
