I was blown away by the selection of Pez dispensers and candies. They had a variety of classic, candy cigarettes, that were quit the buzz and cool thing when I was a child. I was shocked to see a true favorite from my childhood, Bonomo Taffy. If I didn't have crowns and caps, I would have treated myself to one. They were my treat after church when we'd go to the drug store to pick-up the Sunday paper. They had a expanded offering of Hershey chocolate bars, but they did not have any Kit Kat bars. Not having the expanded varieties of my favorite candy bar (Kit Kat) is why they only got a 3 Star rating.

The candy itself was neat -- a few local products and many chocolate truffles to choose from. Plenty of generic candies as well that you'll find at other spots. Although the candy itself was good, it was way overpriced. Just a few pieces of candy cost close to $20. The bottom line? Chocolate truffles were delicious. Decadent and full of rich chocolate flavor. The English toffee looked good as well. I may get that next time I revisit Duluth. Service needs a bit of a revamp though. It's a small little shoppe. She loves candy and so does grandpa - so we always stop at Sweeden Sweets when we're in town. This visit was more special than all the others as there was a very knowledgeable and kind man working the store (the owner?). He was so kind and so informative. Discovered this candy store on Facebook this past September. They were sponsors for a hot air…read moreballoon festival. A drive to Carlton was an easy up and back from the TC. And this candy store was an easy find off the freeway exit. I followed the lollipops along the east side of a gas station. It was hidden behind the gas station. Lining the drive to the parking lot were pretty, tall pine trees. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but walking up to the door were family-friendly activities. A photo booth and wooden tables to play games, like checkers and jenga. Inside is clean and organized aisles of bulk candy. We came to look but did leave with a couple bottles of root beer and cans of Northern Soda company pop. The cashier wasn't too amused that I work in the same city that is manufactured in. I had also just gotten back from a trip to Wyoming and Montana and was on a Huckleberry high. I did find some Huckleberry flavored things there as well.

Inside is a train running on a suspended track, a nostalgic 50's cafe (drinks only), several photos ops, floor games, candy store and a wide array of gifts and goods for purchase. I grabbed some funny cards, stickers, stress ball, candy and a ring. Everyone in our group was pleased. I highly recommend stopping in. We'll for sure be back!
