Loved this place. I'd say we stayed at this event for at least four hours to view everything. The detail was absolutely amazing and the staff were very charming and courteous! We purchased our tickets in advance online for a holiday attendance so the price was a bit cheaper. Our group visited in a weekday (3 adults, 3 kids aged 11, 9 & 6) and loved it. We had planned just an hour or so and ended up there for three hours as we enjoyed all the little details, fun additions and Easter eggs that made this unique and funny. Highly, highly recommend. This is our first time here and it's pretty amazing! Little Canada is a really unique visitor attraction right in the heart of Toronto (very close to Toronto's Chinatown) they have stories of Canada and showcases the country's cities & landscapes through miniature versions! I missed the totem poles in Vancouver! While miniature, the place is huge with 45,000 sq. ft - that's two hockey rinks! It's a place where the CN Tower stands 12 ft tall, the Bay of Fundy simulates the highest tides in the world with its 400L basin, and over 40,000 little figures call it home. It's truly amazing on how they did all this! If you're around the Toronto area, you definitely should see it! There's a municipal parking structure right across the street and the cost is $CAD 23.00 for 12 hrs! read more

I went again a few more times since my last review and this time I took a tour with a tour guide and was able to learn more information about Little Canada, which I wouldn't have learned if I was going myself. THe Tour is about 90 minutes long and was very informative and well organised. I had Rory as my guide. Highly recommend to do a tour with a guide and then wander back to the places you feel like revisiting again. I would say to appreciate Little Canada, please put aside at least 3 hours minimum to enjoy the whole area as there is a lot of stuffs to see. I also noticed they update and some changes to the decors for each area, leading me to find something new each time I visit. I ended up bumping with the creator or this place, Mr. Jean-Louis Brenninkmeijer. It was the first time I ever bumped into him after visiting so many times. The staff was quite surprised to see him on site on a Saturday. I told him it really an honour to meet him in person and I told him how happy I was to visit Little Canada. I noticed that Sundays are not as a busy during Winter. Saturday was much more busier, with lots more people and even school visits. I noticed on my last visit, there was no more spring water station. I don't know if it is permanent or not. Their coat check was also not working. Instead, they had racks sitting outside at the entrance though the coat check is free of charge. I highly recommend to get an individual pass or a family pass, especially if you are a fan of miniatures. I feel I always discover something new on each visit. Good for a year with unlimited visits and also 10% discount in the gift shop. It also gives a 25% discount each time for your visitors. If not buying a pass, pre-purchase your ticket online also saves up to $4 on admission. It costs much more to purchase admission on site. read more

Came here today with my elderly parents and my husband. My dad uses an electric scooter, so we require accessibility. This place exceeded all of our expectations. There are eight separate areas of Canada that are represented in the experience, and each one was a revelation! We spent about 2 and 1/2 hours there, and we easily could have spent another hour or two looking at all of the details! In addition to a beautiful representation of these areas of Canada, they have the lights in each area that turn bright for daytime and dim for night time, so you see different aspects, and they have a lot of little Easter eggs planted throughout, such as life-size bugs or groups of miniature people dancing or ice skating, plus trucks and cars and trains that move throughout the exhibits. They also have the history of Little Canada itself, and you can spend time watching the people who make all of these little exhibits, which is fascinating. We went during the world cup, and they put figurines of Maurice the moose draped in flags of each of the FIFA countries, which you could find across the exhibits, and then get a sticker at the end of the exhibits. It made the experience even more fun, especially for children! The exhibits are located in the basement of the building, go over two floors, so there are escalators between the floors. If you need to use an elevator, the staff is extremely responsive and friendly at helping you get into an elevator and around the exhibits. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Little Canada is a fun time, especially if you're from the area and recognize the neighborhoods they've modeled. Spotting familiar landmarks in tiny form is very satisfying and fun If you're a tourist, you'll enjoy it most if you're into miniatures or dioramas. The attention to detail is wild, and the day to night lighting adds a nice touch. It's not huge, but there's a lot to look at. Very cool place. You get to "travel" throughout Canada in miniature form. The level of detail and accuracy in each of the miniatures is mind-boggling. I like that they oscillate the lighting between day and night time, so you get to see the places with both types of lighting. There is a booth where you can get your 3D photos taken and printed as a miniature, which you can then take home and/or place in one of the exhibits of your choice. Pretty cool! They're still working to add additional provinces / territories to the exhibit, including the Prairies and Yukon Territories, which they're aiming to complete a few years from now. read more

Located at the heart of downtown Toronto's Yonge & Dundas, Little Canada quietly opened in 2021 in the midst of pandemic and continues to expand its exhibitions every year. Simply put, it is a miniature Canada of all the amazing landscapes, attractions, festivals, cultures, architectures, people, all in one place. This is the best place for any Canadian or visitors of Canada to learn more of this beautiful country. Everyone should visit. Little Canada is the perfect place for family, friends, and for any occasion. I was really impressed by the attention to detail, character design and craftmanship for all the sceneries. The smooth animations allow the models to come to life, such as the Go Train, TTC, cars, people, Canada Day fireworks, Bay of Fundy tides, Niagara Falls, etc. The night and day cycle creates a completely different perspective from dawn to midnight so you would not get tired of the view. My favourite was Little Toronto as I recognized most of the sights and they were especially pretty at night when the lights were lit. We often walk pass these amazing places in real life and do not take the time to appreciate them due to our busy schedules. Little Niagara was also spectacular and they re-created the powerful falls in the best way they can. Another highlight was the Canada Day celebrations at Parliament Hill which was quite an immersive experience. While I am not as familiar with Quebec and Atlantic Canada, the charming views sparked my curiosities and I recorded many sights on my to-go list. They further added variety to Little Canada by decorating Quebec as a winter wonderland. Meanwhile, Little East Coast received the fall theme with the changing leafs. As of summer 2024, the available areas are: Little Niagara, Little Toronto, Little Golden Horseshoe, Little Ottawa, Petit Québec and Little East Coast. Little West Coast will be next in line. I also see Little Rockies, Little Prairies, and Little North in development (probably 2025/2026?) You can easily spend 2 - 3 hours here and more as they expand. For future improvements: Wifi is quite spotty, this makes it difficult to share on social media while on site. Secondly, the cafe isn't very popular given there are so many other food options at Yonge/Dundas. Either they reduce the prices substantially or use the space for something else. Lastly, the areas that were added later, such as Little East Coast does not have as many animations as the earlier exhibitions. You can tell they spent a lot of more efforts on Little Toronto and Niagara. Ideally, we would like to see equal amount of liveliness for all areas. read more

Location was not hard to find. You just have to take the escalator down. Cost of admission was $36 for an adult. Maybe slightly expensive for some people but if you're coming from the US, it's only like $26 USD. Very affordable if you have a decent job. Only go on vacation if you can afford to. You don't really need a map, it's pretty much straightforward but they do have maps/signs. You start off with Little Niagara then you take the escalator downstairs. You'll go to Little Toronto, Little Golden Horseshoe, Little Ottawa, Petit Quebec, and then Little East Coast. They have guides around each section in case you have questions. There's a cafe with drinks and food. They'll be adding more cities in the future. You can see the Miniature Makers' Window where they build the cities before you go to the gift shop. You can easily spend 1-3 hrs here. We spent 2.5 hrs taking pictures/videos and just admiring all of the hard work. read more

Arrived on a weekend morning and it was not too crowded. The attendant at the beginning gave us a hint sheet to find all the red Canadian moose which were hidden throughout each exhibit. It was a fun way to get the whole family interact and pay attention to every detail of the exhibit! My favourite was the firework display at the Ottawa exhibit. Each exhibit was very detailed and it was neat spotting iconic buildings in every big city! Great way to spend a couple hours exploring the miniature version of Canada. Fun place for family, couples, school groups or new people to Canada! We came as a school group with MANY international students. It was a great way to showcase all key places in Canada in a more compact way. Many different provinces and key Canadian locations are turned into mini collections to explore. Scavenger hunts and activities can be planned to locate items (keep an eye out for the mini red moose) Mini Quebec stood out for us! There is even a section that has staff showing you how the cars, trains and boats move. Cool thing learned is that there can be car crashes just like in real roads. Washrooms were spotless Coach check is available Fair priced Snack areas inside with beverages and food for purchase Gift stop at the end Staff are very friendly and informative Sets change and have stuff added based on the seasons Exhibits change if it's day or night (nights last 6 minutes and days last 9 minutes) New exhibits are coming in 2025 Only let down was the coffee was stale And cold :( not a busy day but should have made a new batch. read more

Little Canada was my favorite attraction during a visit to Toronto. You can easily spend more than 2 hours here. I love that there are guides in every section to ask questions or offer insightful info about all the mini figurines and towns. The Maurice scavenger hunt makes it more engaging on top of finding cultural references throughout. The details are immaculate and all the workers were so nice answering questions. It I could give this 7 stars I would! I was magic. Not only are allllll of the staff so damn nice, but the exhibit itself is wonderful. I've been gushing around it all week. The staff were helpful and friendly and knew so many fun facts. As a nerd I really appreciated this. The exhibit continually goes from day to night so you can see it in both ways (I'd love Day to last a little longer so I could see more details but it did force me to take my time which I could do more often haha) So many amazing little details and what really go me was all the humour throughout. Just hilarious little moments that were nods to movies and character we know or just silly thing that would be impossible in the real world. You can also make a mini you and add it wherever you like to the different scenes. So neat! THEN you can go behind the scenes and see then making the next places AND talk with the talented artists. I can't wait to go back at the end of May when more is open. read more

Strongly Recommend, you won't regret. When wife says let's go to the Little Canada sometime I was like oh ok, no problem, just another mediocre place to spend money and time. Turned out we had a GREAT TIME! With the little game finding moose we paid close attention to all the little details of this amazing miniature world, and learned so much about Canada. I overheard senior couples talking about what they found that they never knew, and an artist work there told us she learned way more than from history text books. We spent around 2 hours and were both tired when we got out. But it's definitely worth the time. We enjoyed it so much! I love miniature things and I've been to Gulliver's Gate in NYC so I was excited there's a similar place in Toronto. Unlike Gulliver's Gate, this is strictly Canada only. There's miniature towns of Niagara, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec, and East Coast. They seem to be working on West Coast and Arctic. Also, they change the lighting (day to night), there's movements (people, chickens, fish, cars, trains, etc), and even real water. There was so much detail and a lot of Easter eggs if you look closely. I feel like it looks more realistic and there's more detailed explanations than Gulliver's Gate. You learn a lot of Canadian history and culture from this exhibit. Also, there's a scavenger hunt to find Maurice the Moose and you get a prize in the gift shop when you're done. I definitely recommend for kids and adults, can easily spend two hours here! read more

I was a little apprehensive that this might be a pointless tourist trap. But it's incredibly well done, engaging for kids & adults. There is tons of great movement and hidden nuggets all over the place, and a great backstory of the person who started it. Great information throughout to get depth to what you're seeing. I usually hate miniatures, but this place is plain fantastic. Little Canada features very accurate and extremely well executed miniatures of some of the most famous Canadian landmarks. The Niagara Falls room is complete with an eye-catching display of Clifton Hill with its kitsch haunted houses, and museum of oddities, the Whirlpool Aero Car (which is motorized), the Flower Clock, the hydro-electric power plant, and of course Niagara-on-the-lake. The Toronto room contains large miniatures of the CN tower (which lights up), the Rogers Centre (complete with rotating roof), city hall, OCAD, Air Canada Centre, distillery district, the Marilyn Monroe towers in Mississauga etc. Two missing omissions are the ROM and Casa Loma, but I'm sure they will be added in the future. Other rooms include Ottawa, the Golden Horseshoe and Quebec. I will skip the details of these rooms. You are better off seeing them for yourself. But there's lots of stuff to see in all the rooms, including intricate details and mechanized vehicles and trains. Each room cycles periodically between daytime and night time, with the night time featuring elaborate lights. Don't miss the Ottawa room when night falls and there's a depiction of Canada Day celebration with image projections on the model of parliament, followed by a fireworks display. Moreover, usually there's a scavenger hunt where you have to look for special miniature items located through the exhibit. There's an art room next to the Ottawa display, where you can paint wooden models. Also, you can enter into a pod which takes 360 degree images of yourself. If you wish, you can then pay to have miniature model of yourself created. The models are quite expensive, but make for a very unique gift. But if you want to surprise someone with the ultimate gift, you can order several of their miniature placed randomly through the exhibit to create a personalizes scavenger hunt. Don't miss the two educational rooms - one showing you a behind-the-scenes of the elaborate network of computer controls for all the motorized vehicles, trains and lights, and another showing you how the miniatures are painstaking prepared my a large number of artisans. read more

This. Place. Is. So. Damn. Cool. I came across it by accident and was immensely surprised by the outstanding reviews - after all, a museum with just 5 exhibits, for over $30? Trust me, it's worth it!!! As the name indicates, this "museum" showcases various locations in Canada as tiny models. Currently, the finished galleries include Little Niagara, Little Toronto, Little Golden Horseshoe (Hamilton, Kitchener, etc.), Little Ottawa, and Petit Quebec. Each of these have their own special vibe associated with the place in question: the diversity and vibrancy of Toronto, the beauty and elegance of Quebec. The locations all shift from sunrise to day to sunset to night (again, all with their own charms) and you'll find several "events" happening - the fireworks in front of the Parliament Hill were quite fun to watch (see video, although it doesn't quite do it justice). What is absolutely insane is level of detail incorporated, everywhere you look. In Little Toronto, for example, we found ourselves spellbound by features like the signs on the shops in Chinatown; the congestion on the highways; the moving dome of the Rogers Centre; the people holding "We The North" signs in front of a basketball game in the Scotiabank Arena; and sounds of sirens and car horns blaring, just to name a few! There were also innumerable amusing little quirks built into the landscapes. There was a raccoon perched by the corner of a building...except it was about 5 times the size of a little human. We observed people going about their day and doing random things like fighting, levitating, falling over, skiing down a roof, milking cows on the balcony (yup). If you zoom into some of these pictures, you might see a horse drawn carriage on the highway, a UFO on top of a roof, an Among Us character in a hotel. The possibilities are endless: you could literally stand in one spot and stare at the miniatures for a long time trying to detect everything going on. All of the staff were terrific - we were actually greeted and given an introduction even before entering the place! There was a small "sampler" you could say as soon as you entered, and they pointed out the various details and introduced us to the scavenger hunt (find the 20 red moose!). We then proceeded to smoothly purchase our tickets and receive a map before we were on our way promptly. Throughout our explorations, there were always guides around to tell us about the special elements of each exhibit and answer questions. Everyone we saw there were smiling, energetic, and truly made us feel welcomed. I cannot recommend this place more - I would give it 10 stars if I could! An must, must visit - come see most of Canada in a few hours, then step outside and go visit those places in person! P.S. Whenever I'm in town with my kids, I always try to find something original to keep them busy and Little Canada really helped in that department. Very accessible we got there in a few minutes. When we visited, they had miniatures of Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City... I think that Montréal was under construction. My 7-year-old granddaughter's favourite was seeing everything in both day and nighttime lighting. For my 4-year-old grandson, it was the planes and helicopters. Runner-up for both may have been Vancouver and Victoria, which they visited last year. For me, it was the gobsmacking level of detail, how much the two enjoyed it, and my granddaughter's delight as she saw the tide go out in the Bay of Fundy. I'll definitely go back. All I can say is WOW! What an incredible experience, and so unique. The cities are crafted in such painstaking detail that your mind will literally be blown away. In fact, it takes 1.5 years to create each city, and once you visit, you will see why. You can even speak with the 'makers', the people who build the cities. Every staff member was friendly and you get a sense that the staff enjoy their job. The Little Bites Cafe has great options for food, and the gift shop is reasonably priced. The ticket admission is steep, but it is worthy every penny. The place is great for tourists and Torontonians alike. You will learn incredible facts about Canada that you probably were not aware of. Honestly, a good time! If you're a Toronto local like me, I'd recommend checking out Little Canada at least once. My partner and I went in with little to no expectations, but we ended up having a great time looking at all the places that evoke good memories for us within Canada. It was especially fun to see tiny, size accurate versions of our favorite places to eat in the city, where we've hung out with friends, and neighbourhoods we've walked around before. WOW - I usually don't write high praise about places/attractions in my reviews, but this place is SERIOUSLY DOWNRIGHT OUT AWESOME. The ticket cost may scare you upon first glance, but trust me - THE COST IS 100% WORTH IT FOR THIS PLACE. Throughout my whole visit here, the visit was top notch and of very high quality. The staff were very enthusiastic, provide a warm welcome and will always be of help should you have any questions about your tour through "Little Canada". The mini-models that resemble the different cities and attractions across Canada are simply stunning. You can visit places such as Toronto, Niagara Falls, and Ottawa all under one roof! The attention to detail is splendid and make you feel as if you are there in the action. Did I also not forget there are sound effects that help enhance your experience? For instance, in Niagara Falls, a continuous sound of the falls roaring plays as you walk through the Niagara Region. How cool is that! You can also turn yourself into a mini "you" and put yourself into wherever you so desire and be on display for all to see. That being said, despite this attraction being open to everyone, they are still working on building new models/replicas of places such as Vancouver, so don't come here thinking you'll get a full-on cross country tour yet. Even if that disappoints you upon reading that, I would still highly recommend checking out the current displays that are open (Little Niagara, Little Toronto, Little Golden Horseshoe, Little Ottawa, Petit Québec) as of March 2022, the time I visited this attraction. They are so worth your time. Before you know it, a lot of time will have passed. You'll spend a lot of time being mesmerized by the amount of detail put into each model. I'll definitely be back once more exhibits are open and highly recommend this attraction for people of all ages and for any purpose. TIP: Be sure to participate in the scavenger hunt the staff will make you aware of! You will be on a quest to find "Maurice the Moose". It's a great activity to do by yourself or with a group, and will make your visit more fun! read more
