He is pretty typically behaved about most things and does just fine with about an hour and 20 minute groom time. Our prior dog, an Australian Labradoodle, was a nervous wreck about life. We tired other groomers with her- one told me she "was awful and needed agility class and refuses to go into this crate!" And another groomer who everyone swore by used to take four hours to groom her and would be swearing and sweating by the end of her appointment. Then, we happened upon Lindsay at Companion Pet Sitting. (Cue the ahhhh music...) she was patient and kind and acknowledged that our dog was nervous and called her silly and said, "she tires all sorts of yoga moves but she's fine!" This dog lost an eye and Lindsay even designed a hair style to keep her hair in a side-swept bang style. This is a no frills operation, the appointments are booked so that dogs don't have to spend all day there and I get a text message when he's ready for pick up. Everyone is friendly and flexible and always happy to see the dogs! They are pretty heavily booked with all of the Covid Doodles but if you can get in there, they are amazing.

Since joining the Loyalty and Legacy family, Georgie has attended 1:1 sessions and school weekly. At school, he goes on pack walks, practices skills, and plays appropriately with dogs of all sizes. We have seen his confidence increase and we are able to take him anywhere in the community; most recently, he went out to dinner for Paws on the Patio followed by trips out for ice cream. I grew up in Hudson and left at 18 vowing never to come back. I lived all over the world,…read morecollecting dogs in my travels, and moved back to Hudson at the beginning of the summer with my now husband and 2 dogs. We work A LOT so I was blowing through dog walkers and dog sitters left and right. My dogs are small. They're sweet. They're emotional. They require some patience and tenderness that I was sure I was never going to find in a dog walker/pet sitter. I have an irrational obsession with both of my dogs -- I found one in kennel in South Korea, sick and abused. The other we got at another shelter and she is vivacious and social when comfortable, but often uncomfortable. They sleep in the bed. Eat salad. You get it. I'm crazy, my dogs live well and I want them to always live well. My husband told me a few weeks after moving to Lake Boon that there was a dog daycare on our street, 3 houses down. I thought he was seeing things. I had spent the entire summer interviewing, hiring and being disappointed by dog walkers/pet sitters. "She hid under the couch so I didn't walk her" "he didn't eat... last meal was 3 days ago. is that ok?" On and on. So, there was NO WAY there was a pet sitter on my street. And my husband now can say "this is the one meaningful, useful thing I have contributed to our relationship" - he found the BEST dog sitters ever! 5 doors down. We recently traveled internationally and for the first time ever, I gave my dogs to someone who doesn't share half my DNA. This was not easy. We are back now and my dogs are so happy and I can tell they have been happy since we were gone. I know they missed us but they were SO well cared for. They slept in beds. They snuggled. They played. They walked. They got individual attention - they were cared for as well as I would care for them and that is soooooo perfectly wonderful. You all are fantastic and we thank you so much! I feel like I'm leaving my dogs with... myself away from myself. Does that make sense? Maybe not. Do not hesitate to contact Nancy for all your pet care needs. I told her we may have family coming to stay at our house while we are away so it's still up in the air. I wanted to provide the dates just to cover all my basis and not have to worry about them being booked and she assured me it will be fine if I just call within the next couple weeks. She didn't even want to hear the dates!! Couple weeks later (today) I call and say we still don't know for sure if they are coming but at this point I'm not counting on it and to book the given dates. Stacey now tells me she can only accommodate a few of the days out of the almost 3 weeks because they are booked. I said you assured me I'd be fine in July if I just called back and her response is "it's been booked" She also told me she only boards dogs that go to daycare there...my dogs have been going to daycare there for years. They aren't regulars anymore like they were before Stacey took over because my husband now works from home and it's not needed. I will be writing reviews like this on all her platforms. Very unprofessional. I know many families that take their dogs to Skipton but I'll let them know how you've handled this situation..just in case they don't read this review!

I have been going to Pack of Paws for about 2 months and have taken Puppy Kindergarten, attended Puppy play sessions, and am starting Blue Ribbon Obedience this week. I look forward to each class I attend because I learn something new every time and it is so fun! I've only worked with Matt and Morganne so I can only really reflect on these 2 trainers. A quick note, their facility is pretty large. The extra space to move around is great to ensure you're not bothering others and can move your dog around if needed. I took Puppy Kindergarten with Matt and have been going to puppy play sessions with Morganne. I am impressed with both Matt and Morganne. My experience with both trainers is professional, highly informative, and FUN! Both trainers are passionate and appreciate the nuances of training. I'm grateful to benefit from their knowledge and have received a wealth of valuable information from each trainer. When working with Matt / Morganne - The training strategy they use is heavily based on science / evidence-based training, and they believe that training with your dog should be fun! I want to strengthen the bond between my dog and I through training, and I know that I am in the right place to do exactly that with Pack of Paws.
