There was even a little bench connected to it. There is a plaque that says: "Plainville High School National English Honor Society with the Banned. Est. 2023." It was built by the Plainville High School Advanced Construction Technology class and the Environmental Club. It was painted by the classes of 2034 and 2035 at Linden Street School. The only minor issue was, it didn't have any books in it. I will make note to bring some books here next time.

There are approximately 150,000 in 115 countries. The goal is to take a book and donate a book. This forms community, expand access to books, and inspire readers. Ever since I start noticing these cute little libraries, I fell in love with them. They are such a great idea. I love books, reading, and the library, so something like this is inspiring and thoughtful. This LFL is located in Mills Pond Park in Canton, CT. It's right near the playground and picnic pavilion. The box is fairly new, installed in the summer of 2024. This was the work of Canton Public Library and Canton Parks and Recreation. The box is tan and green with a plaque on it stating the charter number, name, and the sponsor. "Books are uniquely portable magic." I concur.

It's a standard red bookcase that is in good shape. It's in a great location near the playground and the school; it's right on the sidewalk adjacent to the parking lot. As always, a great spot to donate books and pick up books. I've always found a good selection of books every time I visit, especially children's books there. Perhaps needing a fresh coat of paint but clean and dry inside, this box is on a single post with a translucent panel on the single door. Inside, a very neat stack of books, mostly paperbacks. This is charter 26934 and the steward is Sarah Raskin. The online caption reads, "The Trinity College Neuroscience Club created this Little Free Library Read and Seed and put it in the Community Garden across from the college." I think it's a great spot for it because of the foot traffic to the playground, dog park, outdoor theater, and trail. I think it needs a little bit of a touch up on the paint, other than that, it looks pretty decent for 8 years old. There are cold winters and hot summers here in New England; things get deteriorated fast with the weather. Overall, a great resource for the community!

If you're not familiar, the little free libraries, are little cabinets that resemble little houses, inside you'll find books. You're encouraged to take a book and also leave book, for someone else to find. You might find kid's books, cook books, college textbooks, whatever someone might be willing to part ways with. Well the other day, I was at the Connecticut Post Mall, in Milford. When I came across the Little Free Library. This is a physical location, just like the tiny ones, where you can take a book and leave one. There is no one working here. They have a rug, some comfy chairs, and adorable art work on the walls. This is all targeted towards little kids. I was here with my friend. She found a book for her son and I found one for my class. We didn't take any of the books because we felt guilty that we didn't have any to leave behind. The little free library's mission is to have books accessible to everyone, everywhere! This is such a wonderful way to encourage readers everywhere to keep reading!

There are lots of interesting book displays all over the place. There's even an ongoing book sale too. Check out a wall of characters from popular children's books in the Children's room. It is very beautiful plus the mural next to the entry of its room as well. The staff are courteous and very nice people in charge of this library. Outside library premises, it also features the Little Free Library. The exterior building is spectacularly awesome. It's worth stopping by if you're in the area and love reading books.

Renovations were done throughout the years and even an addition in 2006. The library is architecturally beautiful. There were plenty of parking. It was large, organized, and quiet. We went to the children's section and it was massive. There was a class going on for the kids. I noticed it's more catered to elementary/middle school kids. There was a small preschool section, but there was only a play kitchen with no accessories for it; toy pots and pans, toy food etc. They had a sensory board wall and some play costumes. They had a fish tank and so many fun decorations. The library is a great resource; they offer free and discounted museum passes and more. This is a great asset to Bristol for sure, but wish there were more entertainment for kids 4 and under.

A charming small village in the Town of Canton, CT. This village was formed around The Collins…read moreCompany Axe Factory. In the early 19th century, this company was the largest axe manufacturer. It's built on the Farmington River which helps power the machines to manufacture axes, knives, machetes, etc. The building is now converted into a historical museum. Cottages as well as other town necessities, were built nearby for the employees. When walking on Main St., you are transported to that era. The buildings are all historic with architecture from the early 19th century. It definitely has that small town feel. There is a post office, liquor store, antique shop, church, restaurants, bar, and tattoo shop. The walking trail is nearby; an old train bridge over the river and a flower bridge overlooking the river. Every October, they have a huge Halloween parade. In the Budget Travel Magazine, they were voted "Top 10 Coolest Small Towns in America". This quaint New England town is beautiful and picturesque with quite a history.
