The children's section in the back room is a really good size with just enough spots. There's a big round table in the back room that has a little retail of soap lotion. One of my favorite parts is the outside is a full covered awning so you can still sit out there even in the rain. We've been back many times and will continue to do so. Great spot.

I did find a very nice solid oak sofa table to refinish here last time, though, for only $50, so if you're here anyway for the affordable stuff, you might find a stray diamond in the rough.

We went on a Monday but the nature center was closed. This was fine because I wanted to walk on the…read morered trail (Werner Pond Trail); this trail is half a mile long and it's flat. The walk was very easy with some roots and rocks. There were views of the brook which was peaceful and the sound of flowing water was lovely. There were information cards everywhere detailing which wildlife lived in these woods. There were a couple of small bridges; one was on concrete and fenced in. We also walked over to the butterfly garden. They did a great job with maintaining this land. I can't wait to go back to check out the nature center and the other trails. Since it's early spring, there were no vegetation; I'm sure in the summer this place gets super lush greenery. They also offer many programs and activities; The Children's Museum in West Hartford is also affiliated with them.

Lately…read morewhen you go, it seems like they sell things priced the same as stores new, so what's the point of even going to Goodwill now in days? I remember the last Goodwill I went to; they priced over the 1.25 dollar tree price as 2.99 I could not help but laugh out loud at the ridiculousness as I put it right back on the shelf. On this occasion we went looking to see if we could find a costume dress but ended up finding a lot of other things priced reasonably. Walked out with a couple of good finds; would definitely come back to this one.

I recently dropped off five bags of things. The lady at the donation door was already there when I arrived. The donation process was very quick and easy. This isn't a huge Goodwill, but small to average. Their furniture area is pretty lackluster. I did find some interesting shoes, one of them was entirely handmade. Maybe my donations will help improve their inventory. You never know what might be hidden at Goodwill.

Within my daughters last year I found out I was pregnant and informed everyone that I would be interested in placing my newest baby into the infant program. Fast forward to my new baby being born, i applied in September and Lyndsey verbally said that I would be all set to join in December. I emailed in late October to ensure that she was still all set to start on December 2nd, Lyndsey then tells me in email that shes very sorry but theres no December spot but my daughter will be able to start April 20th. Due to not having a great experience with the prior conversation I called Wednesday 3/5/25 to see if we were still able to start 4/20/25 I spoke with whomever is covering Lyndsey on maternity leave and she said she knows nothing of it and would call me back. I did not get a call back. I then called 3/6/25 and spoke with Michelle (the director) who has informed me AGAIN that my baby does NOT have a spot in the infant program because the spot that was open was taken by a child of a newly hired employee. When I had IN WRITING that my daughter would be able to start on 4/20/25. This is a HUGE inconvience to not only me but my family who have been juggling trying to work and watch my daughter so I can also work. I then asked Michelle about recieving my $75 back that I paid in advance with Lyndsey because she assured me that I was all set TWICE. Michelle then emails me and says I will only be refunded $50 of my $75 because of a non-refundable application fee. When my money wouldnt have been wasted if my spot wasnt taken OR if Lyndsey would do her job correctly. I am VERY sorry that Lyndsey is the face of this organization as far as whom the parents have to speak with regularly and being the first person they meet when applying. She has cause not only me but my entire family a great deal of trouble. She is grossly incompetitent. I reached out to the CEO, Jay of this organization and notified him by email of all of this to which he replied asking for my contact information to speak with me verbally. He has never called me. I'm relieved to know my daughter now wont be going here. If they cant maintain the employees performing basic daily tasks correctly how can i ensure my infants safety within this school.

From the lake and hiking trails to the numerous playgrounds and pavillions Winding trails offers a variety of options. Close to the interstate you would not know that while you are here. It was that serene and tranquil. My firm had our recent company you outing hee and had a wonderful time using the property for our "Olympic" competition. We were provided with shaded pavillions as a central eating/meeting location and equipment to use for sand volleyball kickball and a relay race (which included a canoe of ride around the lake). There were several other groups on the property but I never felt "on top of them" The grounds were clean and well kept with our plenty of garbage cans and recycling bins to dispose of our catered lunch from Bear's BBQ (which was as good as eating at their brick and motor store in Hartford). It also looked like there were individual families enjoying the property but I am not sure if Winding Trails offers a separate membership for that. If you are looking for a place to hold an event large or small, I highly recommend checking Winding Trails.

And the classes are very affordable. I've received more tools to help me in my life and navigate the world around me than I ever could have asked for in the time I've been a student.

I moved across the Atlantic Ocean to study with the founder, Natlie, more than ten years ago. Among the many positive changes this work has brought me, the most important is that I have experienced connectedness and love, which I did not even know existed. The "tools" that I learned and continue to learn through this work have helped me answer my most burning questions: "Who am I? Why am I here? What's my purpose?" I developed the ability to trust myself, find my truth, and differentiate between what's good for me and what's not. Teachers in the Light Source Center have taught me by example what it means to love and be loved unconditionally, which helped me learn to love myself and accept others. I found home in my heart and also caring friendships in the LSC community.
